Attack collects 13.75 cr in Week 1; The Kashmir Files collects 243.16 cr in 4 weeks

ATTACK grossed a poor 13.75 crore nett in its first week as collections were dull over the weekend and came down further over the weekdays. The opening day itself was the killer as an action film has to open much better to stand any chance at the box office.

ATTACK will not see much business coming from here even though there is not much competition and will probably finish around the 15 crore nett mark unless the second Friday somehow holds better.

THE KASHMIR FILES had another good week as it collected 9.75 crore nett in week four. It is 65% from week three but its still a solid collection for week four. The total collections of the film now stands 243 crore nett and it should go close to 250 crore nett.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
First Week -  96,14,00,000
Second Week - 1,07,68,00,000
Third Week  - 29,59,00,000
Fourth Week - 9,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 2,43,16,00,000 apprx

THE KASHMIR FILES is maintaining very good business in week four as it heads for a 10 crore nett week. The film has slowed down over the last two weeks but that is compared to the crazy second week of the film. The weekly totals for third and fourth weeks are very good despite the 70% and 65% respective drops

The best business for the film will come in Delhi/UP where it stands at around 60 crore nett at present and will challenging the business of films like SULTAN and WAR in this circuit. It will finish among the top ten films of all time in Delhi/UP which will not be the case in Mumbai circuit where it might just get into the top fifteen. East Punjab may see a top ten finish like Delhi/UP.

THE KASHMIR FILES' lifetime will be around the 250 crore nett mark.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
First Week -  96,14,00,000
Second Week - 1,07,68,00,000

THE KASHMIR FILES collected well again at around 1.50 crore nett on its fourth Friday and may get another double digit week. The film is looking at a 250 crore nett close now though at one stage it looked more than this.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
First Week -  96,14,00,000
Second Week - 1,07,68,00,000

THE KASHMIR FILES had another excellent week as it collected around 30 crore nett in week three taking the total of the film to 234 crore nett apprx. The film has seen a 70% plus drop in the third week due to RRR (Hindi) and a general exhaustion of its audience.

The film looked to be going the JAI SANTOSHI MAA (1975) way from day 3 till around day 11 but then the falls started to come. This was probably because it was a controversial film all over the national media and since it remained headline news, the collections were bumper but as the hype started to slow, the collections started to slow as well.

Still the film is going to do business of around 250 crore nett which is out of the world for this film. It holds the record of the highest second Friday of all time at almost 20 crore nett and that time it looked liked many records in week three and four would be on the cards but it was not to be.

The film should reach the 250 crore nett plus mark over the next few weeks and set a target for the rest of the year.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
First Week -  96,14,00,000
Second Week - 1,07,68,00,000
Third Week  - 30,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 2,34,32,00,000 apprx

THE KASHMIR FILES had another good weekend but there was a drop compared to the second weekend which was a phenomenal weekend. The business is down around 70% from the second weekend. This is probably due to the competition from RRR but mainly as it has exhausted most of its audience.

The third weekend sees collections around 20.75 crore nett which takes its overall total to 226.50 crore nett. The business of the film continues to be strong in the North as Delhi/UP heads for a 65 crore nett finish which will put it up there with films like WAR, PK and PADMAAVAT.

The all India business of the film is probably looking to finish in the 255-260 crore nett range and it will be this small film setting a target for others to beat this year.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
First Week -  96,14,00,000
Second Week - 1,09,68,00,000
Friday - 4,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,50,00,000 apprx

THE KASHMIR FILES had an extraordinary second week of 109.50 crore nett making it the third highest second week of all time. The film has seen drops from Tuesday onward but these are from the pace it was going at before. If we take out how the film went for the first 10-11 days then these drops are normal.

The collections of the film are now 205 crore nett after 2 weeks and although that 300 crore nett mark looks a step too far now it still has chances to reach the 275 crore nett. But a lot depends on what happens on Saturday and Sunday and even how RRR fares on the weekend. Despite the lower business towards the end of week two, it will still do strong numbers in the third week.

The film has seen a phenomenal run putting it up there with the top three films of all time in terms of the cost against against theatrical returns. The other two are JAI SANTOSHI MAA (1975) and HUM AAPKE HAI KOUN

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.

THE KASHMIR FILES saw a drop of around 15% on Wednesday as it collected around 8.25 crore nett. The film has seen noticeable drops over the last two days and the pace is slowing now but it is slowing from very high numbers. So, despite the drops, the daily numbers are still outstanding.

The film has now collected 102 crore nett in week two making it the third film to go over 100 crore nett in second week after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and DANGAL. It has also become the highest grosser post the pandemic as it beats the 195 crore nett plus number of SOORYAVANSHI.

THE KASHMIR FILES stands at 198 crore nett and will end the week with a 205 crore nett plus total. The third Friday should give an idea as to where this film will finish up. The 300 crore nett mark is looking tough now but there will be a couple of quite weeks in terms of competition once RRR is released and out of the way.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.

THE KASHMIR FILES saw its first noticeable drop on the second Tuesday but it still collected a huge number of 10 crore nett plus. This has taken the film to 190 crore nett and it will surpass SOORYAVANSHI today to become the highest grosser post the pandemic.

The drop on Tuesday means the 300 crore nett mark is not assured now like it looked over the weekend as the film will face huge competition this week with RRR. It cannot afford to have another drop like yesterday over the next two days if it is to reach 300 crore nett.

Last week there was BACHCHHAN PAANDEY but THE KASHMIR FILES went into that clash with rising collections. But this week is looking more normal weekday trending and so the bigger release should compete better. The makers of RRR will also be looking closely at the collections of this film as they also cant afford to see this film doing 15-20 crore nett totals on Saturday and Sunday if they are to achieve their minimum targets.

Although it does not really matter if the film reaches 300 crore nett as its still a historic BLOCBUSTER be it 275 or 300 crore nett but the 300 crore nett mark does make good reading in the record books.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.

THE KASHMIR FILES remained rock steady on its second Monday with collections of 12.50 crore nett. It came into its own last Monday and collections are only 17% down from there. The total business of the film is now 180 crore nett and it will cross SOORYAVANSHI on Wednesday to become the highest grosser post the pandemic.

The film continues is extraordinary run in the North as Delhi/UP goes over 50 crore nett and only thirteen films have done that in history. THE KASHMIR FILES may well become the highest grossing film in history after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION in Delhi/UP. It could even go above BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION.

The second week of the film is looking at a 115 crore nett total which will be 20% higher than the first week. This film still has strong momentum and so the 300 crore nett mark is there for the taking and it will be about how much further it can go above the 300 crore nett. It has faced BACHCHHAN PAANDEY last week and will face RRR this week but after that, its a quiet period for a couple of weeks.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
First Week -  96,14,00,000

THE KASHMIR FILES had a phenomenal second weekend as it racked up collections of 71 crore nett plus over the second weekend. This is the third highest second weekend ever after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and DANGAL but it would have been first if BACHCHHAN PAANDEY was not there for competition. Both BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and DANGAL had no competition in week two.

The film is also likely to hit an all time record beating BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION on its second Friday as the final collections settle at the end of the week. The growth on Sunday was limited as it hit capacity issue at multiplexes.

THE KASHMIR FILES is out of this world in North India and could even challenge the biggest of films including BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION in Delhi/UP and East Punjab in terms of final collections but it remains to be seen how the next few weeks go. The total collections stand at 167 crore nett and its going past the highest post pandemic grosser SOORYAVANSHI in the next few days.

This film has come out of nowhere and owned the box office and it will continue to do so for sometime.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
First Week -  96,14,00,000
Friday - 19,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 25,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 26,50,00,000 apprx
Second Weekend - 71,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,67,39,00,000 apprx

THE KASHMIR FILES has also scored overseas thanks to outstanding business in US/Canada. The film had started with and $80k first day in US/Canada and now the total after ten days stands at a phenomenal $2.5 million.

In the first WEEK, it collected $1m in US/Canada while the second WEEKEND has collected $1.5 million. Like India, it is a jackpot in US/Canada and the business could go anywhere. The other markets are generally doing good business and holding collections well.

The film is banned in all Gulf states so its mainly about UK and Australia for the rest of its business. In Australia it stands at $600k apprx after second weekend while the United Kingdom is £225k plus. These may not compare with US/Canada but are still very good numbers.

The overseas numbers for the film after ten days are around $3.6-3.7 million which is 27 crore apprx. The worldwide business of the film is 195 cr gross in India and 27 crore overseas for a total of 222 crore after ten days.

THE KASHMIR FILES went over 20 crore nett for the first time as it collected 24.50 crore nett on its second Saturday and an overall total of 140 crore nett. The film is simply an unstoppable juggernaut at the box office with Sunday being practically full in the advance itself.

The film could face a capacity issue at multiplexes and that is where the bulk of business is coming from. BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION hit 35 crore nett apprx on its second Sunday but this film is unlikely to go there as there is a big release like BACHCHHAN PAANDEY for competition. The plus is that as Sunday is almost full in advance, the spillover is going to Monday which means a super strong Monday for the film as well.

THE KASHMIR FILES is now the top grossing film post the pandemic in East Punjab and Delhi/UP and other circuits are going to follow in time. The only number which is a slight challenge is the SOORYAVANSHI number in Mumbai circuit while in the other circuits, it is sure to show the highest collections post the pandemic.

The second weekend of the film is likely to be the second or third highest of all time. DANGAL has the second best total after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION at 73 crore nett apprx and THE KASHMIR FILES has a shot at that. It has to be noted that both BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and DANGAL had no competition in their respective second weekends while THE KASHMIR FILES has a major release like BACHCHHAN PAANDEY.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
First Week -  96,14,00,000
Friday - 19,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 24,50,00,000 apprx

THE KASHMIR FILES had an extraordinary second Friday as it recorded the the second highest second Friday ever after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION. This second Friday has come with the competition of BACHCHHAN PAANDEY and if that was not there, it was sure to be the highest second Friday in history.

BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION had recorded a near 20 crore nett second Friday with no major competition on its second Friday and THE KASHMIR FILES has collected 19-19.50 crore nett apprx with the competition of a big film like BACHCHHAN PAANDEY.

THE KASHMIR FILES is continuing its insane run and its still impossible to stay where it will end up. The eight day was the best day in its run so far and it could still be going higher over the weekend. As mentioned before, there is only one comparison to this film in history and that is JAI SANTOSHI MAA (1975) which was another very small film which ran riot at the box office putting up huge grosses for the time.

The similarities do not end at just being small films but both also catered heavily to the Hindu community which forms the bulk of the film going audience in India. JAI SANTOSHI MAA (1975) was a mythological and did through religion while THE KASHMIR FILES is more of a dark drama and probably does through shock value and political undertones.

The film now stands at around 115 crore nett in eight days and the 200 crore nett mark is there for the taking by the end of week two. In two weeks it will become the highest grossing film post the pandemic and there will be plenty of gas left in the tank.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.

Box Office India Trade Network

THE KASHMIR FILES went and scored the biggest day of its run on Wednesday as it crossed the 18 crore nett mark for the first time and took its total to 77.50 crore nett. The trend is phenomenal and never seen before in the multiplex era and soon enough the collections will also be the type that have never seen before.

The film is gaining every day and on Wednesday, there were even gains in mass pockets and these may well continue into Holi. There is one more day left in the first week and that may well be the highest of its run and you cant rule out the film going to 20 crore nett on the last day of the week. It will be a 95-100 crore nett first week depending on where day seven lands.

The fireworks will happen in the second week as the advances are huge across the board and on top you have a holiday weekend. The film is best in Delhi/UP and Holi sees an extended holiday period in UP so this will further boost teh collections of the film.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
Friday - 3,25,00,000 apprx

-------------------------
THE KASHMIR FILES had a phenomenal week of 95.50 crore nett as it ended the week with near record collections of 18 crore nett for a Thursday. The film has done extraordinarily well all over with North India being the standout especially Delhi/UP which is out of this world especially for a smaller film as the circuit normally goes for the grand scale films with big stars.

The way the film has trended, it will be no surprise if the film collects more in the second week than the first week. Its practically certain to do so but you always have to wait for Monday. The second weekend is a given to collect more as last Friday and Saturday were the worst days in its run. All three days this weekend will be the highest three days in its run and all three may well go over 20 crore nett. The Holi factor will push the film.

THE KASHMIR FILES will remain unaffected by the release of a big film like BACHCHHAN PAANDEY as its established and there is a movement to watch the film either for the content while others do for curiosity due to it being in the news with even the PM of the country asking people to watch the film.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.

THE KASHMIR FILES went up another step on Tuesday as it collected 17.50 crore nett apprx taking its five day number to 59 crore nett. The momentum of the film is crazy and this film is going to dominate the box office for sometime to come.

The numbers are simply extraordinary all over but its the core Hindi belts which are at another level, from the Northern states to Central states to Gujarat. The business is also extraordinary in Mumbai and South but comparatively it is less. There has never been a film to have such trending in the multiplex era and it will only get better.

The question now is when will hit that 20 crore nett mark. It can be today but if not, then there is a very good chance tomorrow and by chance if Thursday has not hit 20 crore nett, then Friday it will be there as its a holiday. The sort of momentum it is gaining and the drive to get people to watch this film it will be no surprise if it also gets a 30 crore nett day over the weekend. ALL TIME RECORDS should start to fall from Friday onward unless this momentum and curiosity to watch subsides and that looks very unlikely at the moment.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
Friday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 8,25,00,000 apprx

THE KASHMIR FILES collected 15 crore nett on its first Monday which is extraordinary and the same number as Sunday. The collection is nearly five times more than its first day and collections of the film till date is 41.50 crore nett.

The film made good gains on Monday at metros and some other bigger cities as compared to Sunday but mass belts saw a drop as compared to Sunday. This is being compared to Sunday so be it drop or gain it is phenomenal either way. The outperformance over Saturday and Sunday had come in the circuits but on Monday it was metros. This is probably because the release is settled now while Saturday and Sunday saw increasing shows. Both the drivers of this insane growth over the weekend (UP and Gujarat were down on Monday as compared to Sunday).

THE KASHMIR FILES is on its way to create history and will become the second small film after JAI SANTOSHI MAA (1975) to join the list of ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTERS. It still remains to be seen where the first week will finish but if it today it shows a normal weekday trend then maybe a judgement can be made but momentum is with the film and it will be no surprise if Tuesday goes higher.

The collections of THE KASHMIR FILES till date are as follows.
Friday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 8,25,00,000 apprx

THE KASHMIR FILES recorded fantastic weekend numbers of 26.50 crore nett and will now go on an extraordinary run at the box office from Monday onward. The films showed a jump of 150% on Saturday and then it went up another 80% on Sunday.

The Saturday jump is coming off a low number of 3.25 crore nett so that is always possible but the 80% jump on Sunday has come from a 8 crore nett plus number which is just unheard of. It has jumped over 350% from Friday to Sunday when half of that would be seen as excellent.

The collections of the film are now fantastic all over but it is Delhi/UP leading the way with a phenomenal 9 crore nett over the first weekend and the trend in this circuit is that it will be the highest grossing film post the pandemic. In fact in time its likely most circuits could be the top grossers post the pandemic except maybe Mumbai.

Delhi/UP and East Punjab are the certainties going the trends here. Gujarat/Saurashtra has also showed a huge trend. There were many who could not get tickets on Sunday and so advances are strong for Monday. It even has advances for the rest of the week.

The three day collections of THE KASHMIR FILES are as follows.
Friday - 3,25,00,000 apprx

THE KASHMIR FILES was phenomenal on the second day as the collections went to 8.25 crore nett with many screens added across the country especially mass pockets where the film did not see a release on day one and this is likely to go up further.

The standout on day two was Gujarat/Saurashtra and Delhi/UP which saw growth of 300% on the second day compared the 150% growth across India. This lead to Mumbai circuit going over 3 crore nett on day two compared to 1.25 crore nett on day one.

The performance of the film is equally impressive in East Punjab and other areas are slowly catching especially as screens get added. The two day business of the film is 11.50 crore nett and Sunday is likely to put up a huge number as multiplexes across all major cities look like getting close to their capacities. The public has basically taken to the film and the sky is the limit.

The two day collections of THE KASHMIR FILES are as follows.
Friday - 3,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 8,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 11,50,00,000 apprx

RADHE SHYAM went nowhere on Saturday as it collected in the same range as Friday to have a two day total of 9 crore nett. The collections of RADHE SHYAM went the opposite as compared to THE KASHMIR FILES as it dropped at many places. It remains better in some mass pockets but with low collections.

The two day collections of RADHE SHYAM are as follows.

Box Office India Trade Network

THE KASHMIR FILES has scored very well on day one as it collected in the 3.25-3.50 crore nett range which is easily the best number seen for a small release post the pandemic. It has beaten the likes of CHANDIGARH KARE AASHIQUI, BADHAAI DO, BUNTY AUR BABLI 2, SATYAMEVA JAYATE 2, BELLBOTTOM and ROOHI, all of which are far bigger films with far wider releases.

This film was released on around 700 screens plus but till Thursday the release was looking even less and screens were added in the last minute and were also being added on Friday itself. The plus for the film is that it has done good business in circuits like Gujarat and for the first time post the pandemic, it is East Punjab leading the way with excellent collections and the best performing circuit.

THE KASHMIR FILES has beaten RADHE SHYAM out of sight across North India be it Delhi NCR, Punjab and Haryana though UP is better for RADHE SHYAM as it has a far wider release there as compared to THE KASHMIR FILES. RADHE SHYAM also has more shows in NCR and East Punjab but still THE KASHMIR FILES has far better collections.

THE TASHKENT FILES had opened to 36 lakh nett on day one and this film has done almost ten times the number and is on course to becoming a HIT film. There should be solid growth over the weekend and it is possible that the weekend collections of this film may well come out higher than RADHE SHYAM.

The only thing that can curtail growth is that some multiplexes performed exceedingly well on Friday evening and there is not much room to go higher here on the same respective shows on Saturday and Sunday. But there is good spare capacity in earlier shows to get the growth.
