DIL DHADAKNE DO: Zoya Akhtar’s previous 2 films – Luck By Chance and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara – were terrific and Dil Dhadakne Do too looks damn exciting. The entire dysfunctional family and cruise elements can make for a great watch. And the star cast is just splendid.

FAN: Well, it’s a Shah Rukh Khan film and hence that’s enough reason to get excited for this one. But it seems that it won’t be a grand film and is in a more realistic space, directed by Band Baaja Baaraat director Maneesh Sharma.

PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO: Sooraj Barjatya is one of my favourite directors and I really love his sugar-coated family dramas! Hence, the expectations are huge from Prem Ratan Dhan Payo where he collaborates once again with Salman Khan. It’ll be interesting to see if he can still come up with a fine entertainer by retaining his trademark style in today’s times!

HAMARI ADHURI KAHANI: Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi haven’t had any memorable film in the recent past. And the tide can change for them with Hamari Adhuri Kahani, that also stars Rajkummar Rao. It’s directed by Mohit Suri and hence expect some soulful and brilliant songs! But what makes it the most special is that it’s scripted by Mahesh Bhatt and it’s inspired from his own life.

BOMBAY VELVET: Anurag Kashyap teams up with Ranbir Kapoor for this big budget and visually appealing flick, Bombay Velvet. More than being excited for Kashyap’s direction or Ranbir-Anushka Sharma pairing, I am all the more curious to see how the 60s Bombay have been depicted. Till date, none of the film has come up with the best portrayal of the city and I hope Bombay Velvet does that.

WELCOME BACK: I thoroughly enjoyed Welcome and hence, hoping that Welcome Back too gives viewers a great time. Yes, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif will be missed but the ones who made Welcome such a great film – Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal – are retained and moreover, Naseeruddin Shah joins the cast too, along with the leading actors, John Abraham and Shruti Haasan. And the film will also ‘welcome back’ talented actor Shiney Ahuja!

DETECTIVE BYOMKESH BAKSHY: Byomkesh Bakshi is a legendary fictional detective and his film is keenly awaited for more reasons than one. It’s Dibakar Banerjee’s first film with Yash Raj Films. Secondly, it has Sushant Singh Rajput as the sleuth. Definitely a challenging role for the actor! Thirdly, from the teaser, it is evident that the film is shot in grand international style, which should make for a great watch!

TEVAR: Tevar has all the so-called commercial elements but doesn’t seem to be a typical masala film. Arjun Kapoor looks great and it’s nice to see Sonakshi Sinha in an author backed role. Also, Manoj Bajpayee seems to be in Raajneeti-type form! This is the first big release of 2015 and here’s hoping that it gives a great start to the year!

BABY: Neeraj Pandey, who gave us memorable films like A Wednesday and Special 26, is back with a bang with Baby that looks like a terrific, no-nonsense thriller in mainstream, commercial space. Akshay Kumar seems to be in top form. What’s intriguing is why the film is named so.

HAWAIZAADA: Hawaizaada attempts to enlighten viewers that 8 years before Wright Brothers flew the plane, a similar feat was already achieved by an Indian! It’s strange that most of us had never heard of this fascinating story. Ayushmann Khurrana seems impressive and really hoping the film works, especially for him. He’s a great actor and deserves all the success!

BADLAPUR: Sriram Raghavan is back in his ‘Johnny Gaddaar’ and ‘Ek Hasina Thi’ zone with Badlapur that promises to be a gripping revenge drama. Varun Dhawan seems to have worked quite hard. Yami Gautam, Huma Qureshi, Divya Dutta & Vinay Pathak too star in this thriller.

GUDDU RANGEELA: Subhash Kapoor who delivered Phas Gaye Re Obama and Jolly LLB will unveil Guddu Rangeela this year that stars Arshad Warsi, Amit Sadh and Aditi Rao Hydari. Nobody knows what the film is all about but it is expected to be a decent satire like Kapoor’s previous films

NH10: Anushka Sharma turns producer with NH10 which will also see her in the leading role along with Neil Bhoopalam. It marks the return of director Navdeep Singh who made the intriguing Manorama Six Feet Under. This one is more of indie revenge drama and it’ll be nice to see Anushka in such kind of cinema

PHANTOM: The working stills of the film that were released more than a year back have aroused lot of curiosity. It stars Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif, directed by Kabir Khan and based on S Hussain Zaidi’s unpublished novel.

MR X: Hamari Adhuri Kahani will hopefully give Emraan Hashmi critical success but it’s with Mr X where he’s expected deliver a huge hit. It’s a 3D film directed by Vikram Bhatt and has some Mr India-style elements. Vikram can come up with some great entertainers at times and here’s hoping he hits a sixer with Mr X!

ALL IS WELL: OMG Oh My God director Umesh Shukla will come up with All Is Well this year, featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Asin and Rishi Kapoor. Viewers would surely flock to theatres if this is yet another hard-hitting family entertainer and comic caper, like Shukla’s previous legendary endaevour.

BROTHERS: This is the remake of the well-made Hollywood film Warrior. The remake stars Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra and is directed by Agneepath director Karan Malhotra. The casting is perfect and the director is credible enough. Hence, Brothers can turn out to be one of the biggest and best films of 2015!

JAGGA JASOOS: Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as a nerdy jasoos in this Anurag Basu-directed film. It also stars Katrina Kaif and is expected to be a musical. And yes, there’s Govinda too!

TAMASHA: Yes, it stars Ranbir and Deepika Padukone, has music by A R Rahman and is shot in some great locales of Europe. But what makes Tamasha one of the highly awaited films is because of one simple reason more than anything else – Imtiaz Ali!

PIKU: Shoojit Sircar who entertained us with Vicky Donor is back with yet another light entertainer Piku. The casting (Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Irrfan Khan) is very impressive. Big B looks great in the film. Most of the film is shot in Kolkata which always makes for a great watch.

SHANDAAR: Just like Tamasha, Shandaar is highly awaited not because of star cast (Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Pankaj Kapur) or it being the first wedding destination film of Bollywood, but because it is made by Vikas Bahl, who gave one of the greatest films of recent times, Queen!

FITOOR: The title impressed me and also that it is based in Kashmir. Also, it is great to see director Abhishek Kapoor adapting a novel of Charles Dickens (Great Expectations) and has based it in heaven on earth. The star cast (Aditya Roy Kapur, Katrina Kaif, Rekha) is another exciting factor

TANU WEDS MANU SEASON 2: Tanu Weds Manu was a one-time watch while Raanjhanaa turned awry in second half. Yet, Tanu Weds Manu Season 2 is highly awaited for me as director Aanand L Rai rocks when depicting small-town India in all its glory. And this time there’s a double role by Kangana Ranaut, which should be interesting hopefully.

JAZBAA: I am a sucker for courtroom dramas and Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa should turn out to be a memorable film. What’s more, it marks the return of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It also stars John Abraham, Shabana Azmi and Irrfan Khan.

ANWAR KA AJAB KISSA: This is another detective film of the year that is not being much talked about. It stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a lead role and is directed by acclaimed director Buddhadeb Dasgupta.

PETER GAYA KAAM SE: A film ready since a long time, it stars Rajeev Khandelwal and newcomer Lekha Washington. From the trailers, it seems like a riveting thriller and neat small film, something that UTV banner is known for. Have been mentioning this film every year in my ‘most awaited films’ list…hope next year, I don’t have to do so! Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zig5oim0SXU
