GODZILLA VS. KONG collected around 9 crore nett apprx in its second week which takes its two week total to 49 crore nett. The film came down on Tuesday as it started to collect less than 1 crore nett. Due to this drop there will be limited collections in week three. But it should hang around where cinemas are open for sometime as their will be a lack of new releases now.

It will cross the 50 crore nett mark but the business coming from Hindi circuits (without South India) will be around 16-17 crore nett which is less than what ROOHI collected from the same markets.

The collections of GODZILLA VS. KONG in India till date are as follows.
First Week -  39,76,00,000
Friday - 2,00,00,000
Saturday - 1,75,00,000
Sunday - 2,50,00,000
Monday - 1,00,00,000
Tuesday - 70,00,000
Wednesday - 60,00,000
Thursday - 50,00,000
Second Week - 9,05,00,000
TOTAL - 48,81,00,000 apprx

GODZILLA VS. KONG collected 0.9-1 crore nett on Monday which is a good hold considering it was a holiday for Good Friday on Friday. The drop is just a little more than 55% which is good as fair value for Friday would have been 1.3-1.4 crore nett.

The total of the film stands at 47 crore nett now and it will collect around 9.50-9.75 crore nett in week two which will take the collections close to 50 crore nett in two weeks. Business is going to slow as its likely that more places will see either occupancy reductions or more restrictions/lockdowns. The Hindi releases have been postponed and its likely that South films will also be pushed. This will mean an extended run for GODZILLA VS. KONG where cinemas remain open.

The collections of GODZILLA VS. KONG in India till date are as follows.
First Week -  39,76,00,000
Friday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Second Weekend - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,00,00,000
TOTAL - 47,01,00,000 apprx

GODZILLA VS. KONG saw a drop in collections in the second weekend which was going to happen due to such a heavy ratio of business from the South. The South numbers normally drop off faster and this week saw a few new releases in South also. The Hindi markets were pretty steady showing a 60% apprx drop from last week but business here is minimal.

The film collected around 6.25 crore nett in its second weekend taking the overall total to 46 crore nett. There was not much growth over the weekend as Friday was a holiday for Good Friday and collections maintained very well on that day. The film will comfortably cross the 50 crore nett mark which will be the best performance in India from a GODZILLA or KONG film.

Cinemas will shut in Maharashtra from today and that will mean a bigger than normal drop on Monday but overall this closure will cost GODZILLA VS. KONG under 1 crore nett as Maharashtra was not contributing like it should anyway.

The collections of GODZILLA VS. KONG in India till date are as follows.
First Week -  39,76,00,000
Friday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Second Weekend - 6,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 46,01,00,000 apprx

GODZILLA VS. KONG grossed a very good 39 crore nett apprx in its extended first week with strong collections in Tamil Nadu and Nizam/Andhra though they fell over the weekdays. If we take out South India, then the collections are just 14 crore nett apprx and that is where the film has suffered badly.

It has probably never happened for a Hollywood release but Delhi/UP has collected more than Mumbai circuit. Mumbai is by far the biggest circuit for Hollywood films and that includes the South circuits but here it has the fourth best collections after Tamil Nadu, Nizam/Andhra and Delhi/UP. For the weekend, Mumbai was even behind Karnataka but it moved ahead over the weekdays.

GODZILLA VS. KONG will find it tough to hold strongly as the Hollywood films hold mainly on the strength of Mumbai and Delhi NCR while South tends to drop faster. Still a 50 crore nett plus number will be a good result considering the situation. Post the Coronavirus pandemic, only 3 films have surpassed this mark in India and all were South Indian films. A couple of other South Indian films went close to 50 crore nett.
-------------------------
GODZILLA VS. KONG held up well on its second Friday with collections in the same range as Thursday as it picked up collections around the 2 crore nett mark. It was a holiday for Good Friday which helped the cause of the film. This will curtail the growth over the weekend but that was always expected due to the holiday on Friday.

The Coronavrirus scenario is hitting box office collections with exhibitors from the South also now saying business is not quite what it was a few weeks back. Bengaluru is set to go back to 50% occupancy while the huge rises in Covid-19 infections will put fear in some of the audience in bigger cities even in South markets.

GODZILLA VS. KONG has done its business and easily should push to the 50 crore nett plus mark from here even if there are more restrictions which are practically a certainty.

The collections of GODZILLA VS. KONG in India till date are as follows.
Wednesday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 4,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 2,25,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
First Week -  39,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 41,00,00,000 apprx

GODZILLA VS. KONG is seeing drops on the weekdays post the holiday but these are still good collections as the huge ratio of business from the South over the weekend meant drops were always likely. The Hindi circuits are steady but the collections are very low. The film will do around 39 crore nett over the extended first week and has chances to hit the 50 crore nett mark if Friday does not drop too much which is excellent considering the situation.

The film saw a USA/Canada release yesterday (31st March) in theatres and an HBO Max PVOD release. Despite the HBO Max release, it is expected to return the best box office numbers from USA/Canada post the Coronavirus pandemic. The worldwide numbers of TENET maybe be a step too far due to a very limited release in Europe and China not sustaining after a good weekend. Also the HBO release will hit collections in various markets as the film becomes available on torrent though Japan can be the white horse in May to take it to another level.

The eight day collections of GODZILLA VS. KONG in India are as follows.
Wednesday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 4,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 2,25,00,000 apprx

Godzilla vs. Kong collects 34.75 cr in 7 days

GODZILLA VS. KONG saw a drop in collections post the Holi holiday as it collected 2.50-2.75 crore nett which takes it seven day total to around 35 crore nett. The film is probably looking at a 39-40 crore nett week one which is a very good number.

The film had dropped in South on Monday but the Holi holiday held the film up as the Hindi circuits saw the best day for the film since release. The collections dropped in Hindi circuits on Tuesday as well. Normally the drop would be less as the Holi holiday extended for a few days in some states but the problem here is a Hollywood film gets limited release in these states and on top a lot of cinemas remain shut in these areas. The ratio of business coming from the South is now much less than what it was over the weekend.

The seven day collections of GODZILLA VS. KONG are as follows.
Wednesday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 4,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL -  34,75,00,000 apprx

Godzilla vs. Kong collects 32.25 cr in 6 days

GODZILLA VS. KONG did well on Monday as it collected 4 crore nett taking its six day total to 32.25 crore nett apprx. The drop in business for the film came in the South though collections still remain pretty good. Overall the collections were pretty much similar to the collections on Friday. The Hindi circuits saw the best day since the film was released as collections in most centres jumped due to the holiday for Holi. Despite the jump, the collections are still far lower than they should be. If Hindi circuits were performing, it would have been a huge Monday for the film due to Holi.

GODZILLA VS. KONG saw around 50% of the business coming from Hindi circuits on Monday as compared to the 30-35% on the first five days. It should remain steady in some markets of the Hindi belt over the next few days but collections are very limited from these areas for the film. The film may collect a little over 40 crore nett for its extended nine day first week.

The six day collections of GODZILLA VS. KONG are as follows.
Wednesday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 4,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL -  32,25,00,000 apprx

Godzilla vs. Kong collects 28 cr in 5 days

GODZILLA VS. KONG did good business over its extended five day weekend as it collected 28 crore nett despite India seeing a surge of the Coronavirus pandemic with the second wave taking hold. The film recorded excellent collections in Tamil Nadu and Nizam/Andhra as both circuits saw figures which would be pretty close to normal times.

The film also managed fair business in Kerala though Karnataka/Mysore was off the pace compared to other South markets. The Hindi circuits saw poor business as the five day business remained lower than the four day business of ROOHI but this because the hugely deteriorating conditions with the pandemic across the Hindi circuits. ROOHI was just two weeks back but there is a big difference as to how the pandemic is affecting since the release of that film. GODZILLA VS. KONG has appreciation in the main circuits of Hindi markets which the huge Saturday growth showed but its unable to collect due to the ground level situation.

The collections of the film were flat on Sunday but Hollywood films do not grow much on Sunday anyway and it is the day before Holi as well. So Sunday is pretty good as well. Monday is a holiday for Holi but the growth for Holi is generally huge in Hindi circuits but here the film is hardly collecting in these places as many cinemas remain shut. Also Hollywood does not release on 2K theatres which most of these shut theatres will be.

The five day collections of GODZILLA VS. KONG are as follows.
Wednesday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 4,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 6,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL -  28,00,00,000 apprx

Godzilla vs. Kong collects 22 cr in 4 days

Godzilla vs Kong
Box Office India Trade Network

GODZILLA VS. KONG showed good growth on Saturday with collections in the 6 crore nett range which takes it four day total to around 22 crore nett. The film is still fetching most of its collections from the South but from 70% on day one the ratio is now around 60% from the South.

The film has seen excellent growth in Delhi NCR and Mumbai on Saturday but the collections remain low and it looks like Mumbai circuit will not get a day where the film collects 1 crore nett and this is despite the film being liked.

There were drops in business in Tamil Nadu and Nizam Andhra on Friday especially Nizam/Andra but have gone up on Saturday though not as much as Mumbai and Delhi. Bengaluru is lagging for the film and this is a very good centre for Hollywood film. It has managed to jump well on Saturday but overall business is not what it should be and this is due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The film will be heading for a 28-30 crore nett weekend which is an excellent number but the problem is that a liked film doing such low number across Hindi circuits means that Hindi film release schedule will go out of the window.

Godzilla vs. Kong collects 11.25 cr in 2 days

Box Office India Trade Network

GODZILLA VS. KONG continued to good business on its second day as it collected around 5 crore nett taking its two day numbers over 11 crore nett. The film is driven by South India with Tamil Nadu and Nizam/Andhra delivering good numbers.

The drop in Hindi circuits was less on second day as compared to the South but the collections are hardly there in Hindi markets due to many circuits facing restrictions owing to the Coronavirus pandemic. This is the first film releases in Hindi markets since the reopening of cinemas in October to have reports on the positive side but it is not able to collect due to the pandemic.

The response of the film is better than WONDER WOMAN 1984 and TENET but the collections in Mumbai or Delhi don't really reflect that. The South is reflective and a few circuits there are in a much better position than they were at the release time of WONDER WOMAN 1984 and TENET.

The film will be dominating film over the weekend despite a new release SAINA which does not have much hope looking at how the collections of MUMBAI SAGA and ROOHI have fallen since release of GODZILLA VS. KONG. There is a limited audience out there in Hindi circuits and those going to the cinemas over the weekend will go for GODZILLA VS. KONG. But it will be the South Indian markets driving this film to success as 70% of the business is coming from Nizam/Andhra, Karnataka/Mysore, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The two day figures of GODZILLA VS. KONG are as follows.
Thursday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 5,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 11,25,00,000 apprx

Godzilla vs. Kong collects 6 cr on Day 1

Godzilla Vs Kong Review: Nary A Dull Moment When The Monsters Are On Screen

Box Office India Trade Network

GODZILLA VS. KONG racked up very good first day collections as South India recorded strong collections especially Nizam/Andhra and Tamil Nadu. The first day collections of the film will be in the 5.5-6 crore nett range and may well finish up towards the higher end of the range when final collections come from the South.

The Hindi markets are struggling as we are looking at one third of the business coming from Mumbai, North, Central and Eastern markets while the South contribution will be 60% on a worst case scenario. The final numbers of the film could go above 6 crore nett.

Tamil Nadu leads the way for the film with the highest numbers across the country followed by Nizam/Andhra and then it is Mumbai and Karnataka. The film is easily the highest number post the pandemic for a Hindi or Hollywood film but it cant really be compared as business again is mainly coming from circuits where Hindi films have a limited market.

The last major Hollywood release WONDER WOMAN 1984 released in December had a ratio of around 50% from South without Kerala and that was when conditions across the country were bad. And now the ratio has gone to 60-70% as business in the South gets stronger. Considering the South numbers of this film compared to Hindi markets, its pretty certain the release schedule of Hindi films is going out of the window as our markets are too short of the potential business.
