Weeks after actor Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan released in theatres worldwide, illegal private screenings were reported in Pakistan. The Sindh Board of Films Censor (SBFC) has now taken action and the screenings have been stopped. A report in a Pakistani daily said that tickets for the screenings were being sold online for Rs 900 (Pakistani rupee) each.
Pakistan’s English newspaper Dawn quoted SBFC: “No person shall make or arrange a public or private exhibition of a film by means of cinematograph unless the film has been duly certified for public exhibition by the Board.”
Meanwhile, during a recent interaction, Shah Rukh said that he is keeping Tiger’s scarf as a momento, referring to actor Salman Khan’s character from Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). The actors shared screen space in Pathaan, essaying their respective spy characters.
SRK also stressed upon the need for a special script to bring them together: “Salman and I have always wanted to act together, but we were waiting for the right film. We knew there would be incredible excitement to see us on screen. It’s too much fun with Bhai on sets… That Tiger scarf, I am keeping as a memento.”
