ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE will finish with business in the 83 crore nett range and this film is the biggest breakthrough post pandemic. There are small films like THE KASHMIR FILES and THE KERALA STORY that have also put up insane numbers but they are not really breakthrough for the film industry as business has come due to external factors rather than the cinema that was created.

Some of the big films have done mega business post the pandemic and as the industry shifts into making bigger and bigger action films, there are going to be more huge numbers as 3.5 crore footfalls today are 600 crore and 4 crore will be around 700 crore; the values will only get higher each year. Five crore footfalls days are probably over but you never know.

But it was never an issue about the blockbusters as the problem is the regular film and ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE is as regular as they come. The industry needs the small/medium films to do numbers of 75 crore nett plus which was a regular occurrence before the pandemic. ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE has shown the way though the circuit numbers show a different story as to how a similar films before the pandemic would get to 80 crore nett.

The old multiplex formula of catering to the metros with a film with a Delhi feel is now over and now a smaller film has to cater to more centres to get numbers. In a way this is good for long term sustainability as numbers are not coming from a handful places but from a wider number of centres. Basically even smaller films now need more reach The music of ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE has turned out to be a blockbuster with 'Tere Vaaste' going out of the roof post release and that may be the reason for the reach of this film.

The numbers have also come with an underperformance of Mumbai circuit as Delhi/UP collects more for the film with excellent collections from the big centres of UP. When a film this can cross 80 crore nett with a moderate performance in the biggest circuit, it shows that even smaller film still have potential theatrically.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE managed another decent weekend and considering the release of ADIPURUSH and the way it dominated the market, these collections can be called good. The third weekend business is around 5 crore nett which takes the film to 66.50 crore nett.

The film showed solid growth on Saturday after the drop in business on Friday but now the business is generally being driven by the bigger multiplexes. ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE is the first victory post pandemic for that small slice of life type of film. The fact it held some appeal for centres in the Hindi belt of UP, MP and Rajasthan despite being a smaller film is why it has come out better than other films like this.

The drop has come in the third week but from here it should be a steady run for the ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE had a very good second week as it collected 24.50 crore nett. The biggest second week of the year after PATHAAN and THE KERALA STORY is TU JHOOTHI MAIN MAKKAAR at 24.67 crore nett. It may well be in final collections that ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE edges the Ranbir Kapoor starrer out, which was a far bigger film. The two week collections stand at 61 crore nett.

The drop in the second week is only 33% though there was a drop on the last day of the week as that was due to the release of THE FLASH. The drop will be even bigger as ADIPURUSH dominates the market. Although the 70 crore nett mark should not be that hard from here, a lot depends on where the third Friday lands as the drop can be considerable.

But the bottom line is that it hardly matters if the film crosses 70 crore nett or remains a little lower as it is a HIT and is the first of its kind post pandemic. There are other smaller films which are HITS like THE KASHMIR FILES and THE KERALA STORY. But the box office there for both these films was coming from a different prospective all together. ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE is the first non big budget film to become a HIT made for entertainment purposes.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE will be beating biggies like KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN and BHOLAA in the CI circuit. These biggies may have not done well in CI but eventually they are action films with big stars and here you have a low to medium budget film with hardly any face value for a mass circuit like this doing better numbers.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE beat the collections of both KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN and BHOLAA in the multiplexes of Indore in the first week itself. The fact that ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE is based in MP and the ambience is probably correct and relatable to the audience in the state is leading to these superb collections. It is the best performing circuit for the film. The 5% ratio for the circuit is much higher than the average for the circuit.

The collections of the film are closing on in the 3 crore nett mark and will go over this by the end of the second week. This will mean that the collections of both KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN and BHOLAA will be crossed in just two weeks. There is TU JHOOTHI MAIN MAKKAAR with collections of 4.70 crore nett plus but that will be impossible to reach for the film.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE showed another good jump on Sunday as again the Hindi belts collected well. The weekend has managed to collect over 15 crore nett in its second weekend to take the ten day total to 52 crore nett.

The film is heading towards 70 crore nett which is a huge result for the film. PATHAAN came in January and now this film has come in June and its two HITS in five months. Yes there is THE KERALA STORY also there but despite the success, the major production houses are unlikely to make this type of cinema and confidence for the smaller films comes from films like ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE doing well. PATHAAN and ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE is cinema for entertainment purposes and that's what the major production houses need to see working.

The collections are coming with an under performing Mumbai circuit which has been the case for most films. Here surprisingly Gujarat is showing average numbers which is not normally the case when markets like Rajasthan and CI are doing so well.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE had a very good jump on Saturday with collections going up 70-75% as the film collected 5.50-5.75 crore nett which has now taken the collections of the film to 45 crore nett. The film is now looking at a 20 crore nett plus week which only PATHAAN, THE KERALA STORY and TU JHOOTHI MAIN MAKKAAR have managed this year.

The way the film is going in CI, it will be no surprise if the film crosses the collections of KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN and BHOLAA. The film is set in the state of MP and due to the locality of the film there are centres like Indore and Bhopal which are simply fantastic, especially the multiplexes.

The film is that middle of the road of the cinema and its good news for the industry though if there was no offer of tickets with this film, it would have been better as it would have still done well and there would be no offer or incentive trend to get people into cinemas.

The film also shows the shift in the demographics of the box office as its unlikely that a VICKY DONOR, KAPOOR & SONS, HINDI MEDIUM or NEERJA can do as well today as they did earlier due to the ratio of collections from the five metros centres. But if the A centres like Indore, Lucknow, Bhopal, Jaipur etc drive, there is potential for middle of the road cinema. There is always the overlapping middle class audience in the metros as well. Music becomes the key as its difficult to get the audience in for smaller commercial films in these areas without a Hit song or two.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE has emerged a HIT as it collects 3-3.25 crore nett on its second Friday which is a superb hold as collections are more less similar to the last two days. The film is the first hit since PATHAAN which released five months back in January. Hollywood managed to throw up two HITS with JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 and FAST X in this period but its been a long time coming for Hindi cinema.

The film has collections of 38 crore nett till date and it seems like the film will comfortably cross the 60 crore nett mark. It may even head towards the 70 crore nett mark. It will be week three that will determine its lifetime as ADIPURUSH will cut into the business of the film.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE had a good first week with collections holding very well on the weekdays. The film has managed first week collections in the 35 crore nett range and the collections on Thursday were only 40-45% down from the first day. 

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE will emerge a HIT as long as collections don't show a major fall today (second Friday) which should not happen. This is because TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS came on Thursday and that did not really hit the film. If it does the job on the second Friday it will be the second HIT of the year after PATHAAN though obviously at a different level.

Music has been the key post pandemic and again its has aided this film in a big way. There is a connect in the Hindi belts and that's why states like MP and UP have performed so well. The first week of 35 crore nett is something that many bigger films have not managed in their whole runs over the last year.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE continues to hold well at the box office as Tuesday racks up a solid 3.50 crore nett. The drop is minimal from Monday and it has five day total of nearly 29 crore nett. The first week is looking at a total of 35 crore nett and it is expected to have a good run post the first week.

The competition is minimal this weekend although that should be said carefully as films like THE KERALA STORY and now ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE have come out of the blue. The film is a success and it will be the collections on the second Friday which will determine whether the film can become a HIT and this is like an abandoned word in Hindi cinema at the moment. The second week is crucial as it will take a hit in week three with ADIPURUSH's release as that is looking to get its best collections where ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE is also doing well.

The music and audiences in the Hindi belt taking to local feel of the film has been a big plus to the film. The collections in likes of CI and UP remain strong. In the state of MP, it looks like collections are better than what KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN was doing on day five in the big centres of the state like Indore, Bhopal and Gwalior.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE had a good hold on Monday as it collected 30% from the Friday and collected 3.75 crore nett apprx. This takes the film to a 25 crore nett total in four days and the next few days are crucial for the film.

The film has been aided by an offer so far but that is out of the window now and if the film can sustain well from here on, it will be a good result for the film. The film continues to out perform in likes of MP and UP probably as its a local setting for this region especially MP. There are centres like Indore, Lucknow, Agra and Bhopal which are recording solid collections especially considering it is not cast heavy or a mass action or a comedy film.

The music is the biggest advantage of the film and that is likely to helped the film tremendously but there is still a long way to go and where it goes depends on the next 5-7 days.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE had a good first weekend of 21.75 crore nett as it garnered very good collections in some of the mass pockets despite limited face value. The film showed a strong trend on Sunday and there was always a chance of this as pockets which grow well on Sunday were outperforming from the beginning.

The film did well in Gujarat/Saurashtra on Sunday as well and this was one of the Hindi belt being held back over the first two days. Maharashtra also did well especially Mumbai city and Pune. The collections have been boosted by the buy one get one free offer but the film does look to have some merit also as there is a trend although its collections are at a level than it would have been without the offer.

The film should hold on Monday as business on Sunday was good. But the issue for the industry is going to be that this film may well set a precedent for offers which is not good in the long run as where does it stop. This is a small medium film and it could be medium films also do that then that can lead to star films that are not generating traction to go for offers as well. Its a dangerous circle.

Box office numbers should be coming through merit and not offers and this film probably does have some merit. But much of the industry may not see it that way and its starts a trend of offers on release. It will be embarrassing if the industry goes this way to bring people in and it probably will not work anyway for many films.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE did well again on Saturday collecting around 6.75 crore nett and taking its two day total to a decent 12 crore nett. The growth was 30% which is pretty good as the film is being helped by the offer which means collections are higher than they should be.

SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE showed growth which was around 55-60% and this film would probably have been around 50% also if all was normal but then it would have been on lower collections. The film should be able to push higher on Sunday especially as the film is performing well in likes of UP, Rajasthan and MP and these places get a good Sunday push. The film could have performed better in Gujarat as that is less compared to other core Hindi belts.

Sadly, the probable take away from this film in the industry is going to jump on to the buy one get one free offer bandwagon as others also rack their minds for offers and how they get the audience in. A better way to look at it is the HIT music gave the film some traction at least in Hindi centres allowing the film to put up numbers in likes of Lucknow, Varanasi, Indore, Bhopal etc despite not much face value for these cities. The importance of music cannot be reiterated enough to bring audiences into the cinemas. If its original hit music, then even better.

ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE did well on day one as it collected around 5.25-5.50 crore nett with good collections in some Hindi pockets like UP, MP and Rajasthan. There is an offer aligned with the film and if this was not there, then these collections can actually be called good (very good considering the box office scenario today). But at the moment its not exactly known how much push has come from the offer.

The plus for the film is some good collections in the Hindi belts which is a different to many films released post the pandemic. The offer is all over. So, the outperformance in certain pockets is not due to the offer. The music which has a HIT song has probably meant a larger crowd coming out in the likes of MP, UP, etc. The collections in these places are up there with films like CIRKUS and BHEDIYA and some stations seem to have recorded better collections. Delhi/UP and CI will come with the best collections while Mumbai could have done better but that is the case with most films today.

The weekend will do well as the offer will remain. So, the collections should hold up. Although the normal growth trajectory cannot be expected, it should still see good growth over the weekend and then comes the crucial Monday. The weekend numbers will give the film a chance of doing well and in the present scenario this is more than good enough as the film could have easily died with a 10 crore nett weekend or less as we have seen time and time again.

Irrespective of how the number has come, the fact is that the headline number of 5 crore nett plus is good and this will mean others looking at doing offers or discounted rates which is not the way box office should work and not good in the long run. At the moment it is not known how much the film has been boosted but the results will mean many others looking at bringing in the audiences with incentives. It looked this would stop when it was tried earlier in the year but the results of ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE will change that.
