PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) is coming to the end of its run and stands at 737.75 crore nett and basically will close at a phenomenal 738 crore nett. This will be almost 160 crore nett higher than the previous record holder STREE 2 and 100 crore nett of this gap is from Mumbai circuit alone. The Mumbai circuit total will be an extraordinary 268 crore nett.

These Mumbai circuit numbers alone are more than the total numbers of films like DUNKI, FIGHTER, BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 and SINGHAM AGAIN. South India, where the film ran in other languages, has given 46 crore nett in Hindi which itself is pretty extraordinary. The phenomena is such that in Nizam/Andhra, it stands among the top five Hindi films of all time despite having a simultaneous Telugu version of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE running alongside and dominating the circuit. The film has beaten the likes of DANGAL, PK and SULTAN in Nizam/Andhra.

The Hindi version had started with hardly any shows in Nizam/Andhra (outside Marathwada) but that changed so fast as day by day the screen count went higher and higher. The little downer for the film is Delhi/UP as it could have done more in this circuit. Its hard to say why this circuit has come lower. Normally you would say South films are less in North India but here East Punjab has set the highest figure of all time and the Delhi/UP market is pretty similar. Hence, South films generally being lower in North cannot be the reason.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) collected collected another good total with 2.25 crore nett coming in its seventh weekend. The Friday Cinema Lovers Day could not give the film much of a lift like a STREE 2 or JAWAN which added in crores when they had Cinema Lovers Day on their respective sixth Fridays. The film now stands at 735 crore nett with another probable 3 crore nett to come for an end of 738 crore nett.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is the first film to cross 200 crore nett in Mumbai circuit, first film to hit a century in Gujarat, Rajasthan never hit 40 crore before and this film has gone and done that. CP Berar also never hit 40 crore nett and here PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has gone and crossed 50 crore nett. Bihar and CI see figures went over 30 crore nett for the first time. 

The film also never released on a major holiday showing the date does not matter much when the audience really wants to see. The fair value numbers are around 775 crore nett as the Hindi version lost business in the South due to regional versions. The film has done 45 crore nett in South but 80-85 crore nett is probably real value if we take the average contribution of Hindi films down South.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) remained the strongest film in terms of trend as it saw a minimal fall on Monday collecting another 40 lakhs nett and the film is looking to collect around 3.75 crore nett in its fourth week. The total collections of the film are 735.50 crore nett and it will be a 738 crore nett end for the film. There is a flow of releases in the next few weeks which will end its run.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) had good collections in its sixth week as it collected 6.50 crore nett which takes the film to a six week total of 732.50 crore nett. The film saw a drop of 64% in week six and this despite was the aid of holidays on various days over the week. The film again should be boosted by Cinema Lovers Day on its seventh Friday and its likely to get the best boost of all films running as appreciation is huge.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE will get this weekend in but then it will be practically the end of its run with collections at low levels on Monday. But what a run it has been with every record broken from the first weekend till the fourth week. The lifetime is now looking in the 737-738 crore nett region with a 6% contribution from South India as compared to the normal which on average is in the 10-12% range though more for films with Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. 

The sixth week collections are the fifth highest ever and there is JAWAN and PATHAAN above it but films that trended better like GADAR 2 and ANIMAL are not there. So, for the big openers, it becomes more about the competition around. STREE 2 leads by a margin in week six mainly due to no other releases and a Cinema Lovers Day boost. The Hindi version of the film has also collected over 1000 crore worldwide and will finish at around 1025 crore which is the second highest total ever for a film in Hindi after JAWAN.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) continues to collect well in its sixth week though collections at are much lower levels as to what has gone before in the first five weeks. The film is heading for a sixth week collection of 6 crore nett apprx which will be among the top 7 or 8 sixth weeks ever though well below the 17 crore nett record of STREE 2.

The film has amassed a total of 730.50 crore nett so far and is now looking at a finish in the 735-740 crore nett range. The film will get a boost on Friday due to Cinema Lovers Day but with limited screens, it wont be much of a total. The run outside Hindi is practically over now and that contribution is looking to finish around 400 crore nett. The film will close in the vicinity of 1150 crore nett on all versions which is the highest ever but in terms of gross collections it'll a few crores short of the BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION number due to tax changes.

Mumbai circuit now stands at at a huge 265 crore nett with another 2-3 crore nett to come. To put this number into perspective is that STREE 2 collected 159 crore nett and JAWAN collected 140 crore nett. It is a record that no film on the floors or being planned at present can beat. The BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION record in Mumbai lasted 7 years and it will be no surprise if this PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE record also lasts that long.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) had a huge fifth week collecting 18 crore nett plus which is the third highest fifth week of all time after STREE 2 and URI. There is a drop from the previous week but after coming out of a huge holiday period, a drop of 64% is still very strong trending. The film takes it overall total to 726 crore nett.

The 750 crore nett mark looks a bit too far for the film but there is a possibility of Cinema Lovers Day next Friday which could give the film a boost of a couple of a crore. The film set every benchmark from the first weekend till the fourth week and some by huge margins. But now there is some exhaustion after this huge run. Its likely to be a sixth week in single digits especially as there are a couple of releases this week.

The film has broken records by huge margins in Mumbai, CP Berar and Odisha and these are the three markets which traditionally lead for the South content be it the phase of the 1980's or this recent phase. Odisha could close at 20 crore nett or very close and the previous record was just 12.50 crore nett of JAWAN. There was the Telugu version in Odisha also which itself has done well. CP Berar is looking at 56 crore nett close and the previous record here was BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION at 35 crore nett. This 35 crore nett itself remains a huge task for any original Hindi film let alone the 56 crore nett of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) saw its first real drop in its run till now as collections went to 75 lakhs nett on its sixth Friday as new releases made a dent into the trajectory of the film. It hardly matters as still the sixth week will give good collections compared to many films. Its just that the numbers will be nothing compared to the run of the for the first five weeks.

The total collections of the film go to 726 crore nett and now its looking 735 crore nett finish for the film as Cinema Lovers Day is on next Friday which will mean some decent collections next week as well. The film is looking to break the record of STREE 2 by a huge 155 crore nett in the final tally and it can be said that around 35-40 crore nett is missing from the South due to a limited release which means fair value of 775 crore nett if it was a original Hindi film.

The film has still done 45 crore nett in South India in Hindi which includes the Marathwada which comes in Nizam/Andhra circuit and that is an excellent total on the release. STREE 2 was 62 crore nett in South India. The only little negative is the business in Delhi/UP which is huge but will be below STREE 2 and GADAR 2. East Punjab sees it breaking STREE 2 and GADAR 2's record though.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) collected 3 crore nett on its fifth Friday which is pretty much similar to what STREE 2 had collected on its fifth Friday. It could be a record depending on where the final collections of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE settle though even if its 10-12 lakh less than STREE 2, it hardly matters. This is because STREE 2 had the buy one get one free offer on its fifth Friday. This brings to mind that the collections of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE have come without any aid of offers and other elements which some of the other big grossers benefitted from.

STREE 2 holds the record for week five with weekend collections at 14.50 crore nett and the week was 22 crore nett; it remains to be seen how PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE lands. Till date, PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has blown all the week and weekend records by margins but this will be much harder and if it does set records, it will be minimal margins here.

The total collections of the film are 710 crore nett now and it remains to be seen if it reaches the 750 crore nett mark. The Hindi version of the film has scored well in the South also. It will not beat KALKI 2898 AD by much in Mysore though KALKI 2898 AD is among with top fifteen films in Mysore with a simultaneous release of the original film in Telugu but Nizam is far better than KALKI 2898 AD.

The film will collect around 50 crore nett in Hindi from South India which includes Marathawada in terms of distribution circuits. This is more than FIGHTER, SINGHAM AGAIN and BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 which had South releases like an original Hindi film unlike PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE which was limited in Hindi initially.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) collected an excellent 3.75 crore nett on its fifth Saturday but now some exhaustion is there as there was a drop on Friday and Saturday growth is a bit muted. The fifth Friday was less than STREE 2 and the gap is bigger on Saturday which means the film will not set records for the fifth weekend or fifth week.

It hardly matters though as the film stands at over 714 crore nett and despite the lesser trend in week five, it will still be the second or third best of all time and this is after smashing all records for the first four weeks. The fifth weekend of the film looks to be heading for the 11 crore nett mark and its likely now the film will probably finish a little short of 750 crore nett.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) had a huge fifth weekend collecting 11.50 crore nett which is the third highest ever after STREE 2 and URI. Considering the run so far of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE which has broken records from the first weekend itself, this is a huge number. There is some exhaustion but this is to be expected after such a huge run.

The film is at almost 720 crore nett and should be standing at over 725 crore nett after its fifth week and they you can expect anything between 10-20 crore nett after week five. The all India collections on all versions stand at 1110 crore nett which is the highest ever beating BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION but there are tax changes as compared to 2017 when the Prabhas-starrer released. So, in terms of GROSS numbers, there is some ground to be covered and it may just crawl past at the end of its run.

Mumbai circuit stands at a huge 264 crore nett and is looking at a finish at over 270 crore nett with Gujarat/Saurashtra doing over 100 crore nett which is double of practically every original Hindi film except GADAR 2. Gujarat is hardly giving a 10% ratio for most original Hindi films which was the case pre pandemic but here it will be 14% and BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and KGF - CHAPTER 2 have also seen these high ratios.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) maintained fantastic collections on its fifth Monday with collections in the 2 crore nett range. The Monday this week is not as strong as the last few weeks as it has seen a 30% drop which is actually stronger than normal but this film had been trending much stronger on the previous holidays.

The fifth week is looking at collections in the 18 crore nett range which will mean the third highest fifth week after STREE 2 and URI. The total so far is 721 crore nett and it will be around 726 crore nett by the end of the week. There is exhaustion now after an insane run of five weeks and hence, the lifetime is likely to settle around 740 crore nett.

The film has smashed records in most circuits and by margins too but the disappointment is probably going to Delhi/UP which will finish in the 135-140 crore nett region while STREE 2 did 150 crore nett. The main difference is Delhi city where PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE will gross around 40 crore nett while STREE 2 did 52 crore nett.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) had an outstanding New Years Day as it collected 8.75 crore nett and became the first film in history to collect 700 crore nett. The collections of the film so far are 704 crore nett and there is more to come. The growth is much better on New Years Day as compared to Christmas Day last week.

The fourth week will now go over the 50 crore nett which is actually more impressive than the 700 crore nett. A film hitting 50 crore nett in week four is pretty much unbelievable and unimaginable and here it cant be said that the film has had open field with no films releasing as MUFASA: THE LION KING and BABY JOHN did release.

The fourth week has only seen two films STREE 2 and JAWAN get over 30 crore nett and that tells how huge this 50 crore nett number is. It will be interesting to see where the film goes from here as the film has broken more or less every record in the book till date and with a strong holiday period, you would expect some exhaustion. But so far, the film has shown no signs of that.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) showed growth on its fourth Tuesday and its pretty much the same trend as last week and New Years Day should also show some growth though maybe less than the last week. The film will hit the 700 crore nett today which will mean in basically four weeks as the first week was extended and had eight days.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is the first film to hit 600 crore nett and now will also become the first film to hit 700 crore nett and it remains to be seen if the film can hit the 750 crore nett mark. The footfalls of the film in Hindi are heading for 4 crore plus which is the third best this century after GADAR (2001) and BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION (2017) which also makes it the third biggest HIT this century.

The film is also now the highest grosser in India ever in terms of nett collections as it goes past the 1100 crore mark and the numbers of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. There are tax changes since the time of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and it has a little more to go in terms of gross numbers but it should get there eventually by the end of its run.

The fourth week of the film is heading for a total of around 50 crore nett and before this, only two films have crossed 30 crore nett in the fourth week.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) saw another huge Monday hold pretty much as last week as it collected 5.25 crore nett which is a drop of a little over 15% from Friday. Last week saw holidays for the Christmas period and this week it is New Year. So, generally all films out there are holding up better than they would on a normal Friday.

This means outstanding business for PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE for the next two days when it will become the first film to hit the 700 crore nett mark. The film will probably see a drop post the New Year as the holiday period starts to end but it will be Monday when its all back to normal and it the collection on Monday will determine how much the film can add in January.

The film has smashed all records and although it does not matter much in the bigger picture, the minor downside is the business in Delhi/UP. The film has just crossed the numbers of JAWAN in Delhi/UP and is 10 crore behind GADAR 2 and a huge 25 crore nett behind STREE 2. Its likely that the film will will stay around 10 crore nett behind STREE 2 and going by other circuits, it should be 20-25 crore nett more.

This means a shortfall of 30-35 crore nett in this circuit and its hard to tell but there will be some reason. If compared to STREE 2, the problem is Delhi NCR area and the big centres of UP like Lucknow, Kanpur, Dehradun and Meerut which have bigger multiplexes. A centre like Agra which would be classed as bigger than Dehradun and Meerut is far better than STREE 2 but here there is no presence of the bigger chains. The other centres in UP are also better for PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE but that shortfall from Delhi NCR and four centres of UP mentioned above will not be covered. In Delhi city alone STREE 2 crossed 50 crore nett and here PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is unlikely to do 40 crore nett.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) recorded the highest fourth weekend on record with collections of 27 crore nett which is almost as much as the fourth WEEK record figure of STREE 2 which was 31.50 crore nett. The film has a huge total of 685 crore nett up on the board after its fourth weekend and it should hit the 700 crore nett mark in the next 3-4 days.

The growth this weekend came on Sunday when the film went back into double digits with mass circuits showing huge gains. The film is already 100 crore nett more than the previous biggest grosser STREE 2 which had final business of 580 crore nett. Here with PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE, its about how further it pushes the record. The target now looks 750 crore nett for the film and that will depend on what levels come in week four.

The film became the record grosser in East Punjab over the weekend adding to Mumbai, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Bihar and Odisha. The circuits which are left are Delhi/UP, West Bengal and Assam and its unlikely that any these three will hit record levels as it has good distances to cover which do not look possible on the present trajectory.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE collected 9 crore nett apprx on it fourth Saturday which now takes its total to around 674 crore nett. The growth could have been better but its coming out of holiday week and there will be some exhaustion considering the huge run till date. The film is comfortably going to cross the 700 crore nett mark. Despite the growth being less than it should on Saturday for a holdover release, the film continues with record collections.

MUFASA: THE LION KING saw the best growth on Saturday as it also collected in the 9 crore nett range. MUFASA: THE LION KING has collected 75 crore nett so far in nine days and its should go past the 100 crore nett mark. The film is being driven by South India, a circuit like Tamil Nadu has grossed 13 crore nett so far which is much more than Delhi/UP which is yet to reach 10 crore nett.

BABY JOHN is poor as it collected 3.75 crore nett on Saturday which takes the film to 22 crore nett apprx in its four days. The growth generally was limited on Saturday but this film still under performed as it grew less than the other films out there. There is total rejection and it will fizzle out over the weekdays.

THE SABARMATI REPORT has done decent business and has collected 32 crore nett till date and is playing at minimal cinemas now. The film got the luck of draw as it was bought into notice of the public by major political people including the Prime Minister of India. The film saw a nice little after this happened and did some business even post PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE's release.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) starts the fourth week with another record as it has the highest fourth Friday of all time though the trend of the film in terms of Thu - Fri has seen a drop despite no release this week. The film has collected a huge 6.25 crore nett which now takes the film to almost 665 crore nett in 23 days.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE seems to heading for the 700 crore nett mark on New Years Day as its sure to be another record week for the film with the holiday factor kicking in over the weekdays. The lifetime will probably be determined what happens after this holiday period as will the film continue with this crazy trajectory or does it see a drop at some point post the holiday period.

The records have fallen for every week and weekend till date and they will continue this week but the records will get tougher to come by after this week as consumption has been so much. The plus is there is no major competition out there for many weeks and as has been seen before, when this happens the film that has been accepted by the audience continues to run until it faces real competition.

The film stands the third biggest film in its home market of Nizam/Andhra at the moment behind RRR and BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. It will not beat RRR but will probably go above BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION to become the second highest Telugu grosser ever.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) had another record breaking week with collections of 92.75 crore nett which has taken the three week total of the film to 658 crore nett plus. The film got advantage of Christmas on Tuesday and Wednesday but the hold on the last day of the week is also outstanding. The film is less than 25% down from Monday despite the holiday on Wednesday.

The film till date has broken all records for the first three weeks and it looks like that will continue with another holiday week but even if the holidays were not there it would still be setting records. The film faced competition this week with MUFASA: THE LION KING on Friday and then BABY JOHN on Wednesday but the trajectory of the film has not changed at all. 

The film is going to hit 250 crore nett in Mumbai circuit over this weekend which is simply unbelievable and its not too far behind the local Nizam/Andhra market in all versions which stands at around 275 crore nett including Marathawada. Mumbai circuit will end up at a phenomenal 275 crore nett plus. The 300 crore nett mark is probably a step too far but you never know with this film.

Basically, the film is going to beat the record of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION by around 100 crore. In Mumbai circuit, the film is probably the biggest blockbuster since HUM AAPKE HAIN KOUN way back in 1994.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) remained the top film on Christmas day as it collected 13.75 crore nett which was more than new release BABY JOHN and MUFASA: THE LION KING. The jump on Christmas day is 35% which could have been better but some of this jump is factored in on Tuesday. The evening and night shows slowed which meant a lesser jump.

This is minor for PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and it hardly matters for the film. Its hands down the best film post pandemic which can be seen easily be seen by these insane records across the core heavily populated states across the country. Gujarat will cross 100 crore nett, Rajasthan may hit 50 crore nett while Bihar and CI will go to 30 crore nett plus. This is simply unthinkable and unprecedented and its this audience that decides the greatness of a film be it MOTHER INDIA, SHOLAY, KRANTI, GADAR, BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and now PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has a huge total of 651 crore nett plus so far and there may be a drop today as the last two days have been strong but the trajectory will go up over the weekend again. The film looks to be heading for a 725-750 crore nett total though it will be end of next week that will give a better idea.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) saw another insane hold on its third Monday. The film had seen a huge hold last Monday which pushed higher the trajectory of the film and this week is even better as the holiday period kicks in. The film collected an extraordinary 9.25 crore nett on its third Monday which is a collection that 99% of the film would be happy with on the first Monday.

The drop from the Friday is under 15% and there should be growth on Tuesday and then a good jump on Wednesday for Christmas day. The film has already taken in over 61 crore nett in third week in four days; there is chance that the third week is going to get very close to 100 crore nett. It is certain to hit 90 crore nett in the week which is a record by margin. 

The film has already set new all time highs in Mumbai, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Bihar and Odisha and in time a few more circuits will also set records. The ones which are unlikely to be records are Delhi/UP, West Bengal and Assam and the surprise is Delhi/UP where it could have done better. There is the cold wave now which affects the late shows in many pasts of UP but that was not there at time of release. For some reason, the film has under performed in Delhi/UP.

The dubbed version has a Maharashtra setting and that could be the reason but then East Punjab will easily see the highest totals ever. This circuit would be even more averse to a Maharashtra setting and so, its actually hard to pinpoint this Delhi/UP underperformance. It will still be a blockbuster number in Delhi/UP but it could have been better going the performance in other circuits.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) is an unstoppable BLOCKBUSTER as it recorded a third weekend of over 50 crore nett. Its the first time in history that it has ever happened. The film collected a huge 52.25 crore nett in the third weekend with the Sunday being almost 24 crore nett which is a number in another world for the eighteenth day

The film became the highest grossing HINDI film on Saturday and crossed the 600 crore nett mark on Sunday but all this is pretty minor as the milestones will continue. After this weekend, the 700 crore nett mark now looks pretty easy for the film. There are no words to describe the numbers in Mumbai circuit of this film as 250 crore nett here looks a done deal now.

The film has a total of 618 crore nett in eighteen days so far and there will is going to be outstanding collections for the next 8-10 days over the holiday period. The drop in the third week may come out to be under 50% which is remarkable for a film which is doing collections at such a high level.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) collected a huge 15 crore nett on its second Wednesday which now takes the film to 553 crore nett and it will cross the numbers of JAWAN which is the second biggest Hindi grosser. STREE 2, which is at the top, will be done by the close of business on Saturday. It will take the film just 17 days to become the highest grosser and there will be the Xmas and New Year period to come.

The period will mean more records being broken over the Christmas and New Year weeks and this means that its very likely that PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE will be setting new highs in week three and four. These third and fourth week records will be coming when already it is the highest grossing film which easily makes its the biggest blockbuster post pandemic. The footfalls of the film in Hindi are also heading towards the 4 crore mark and it will have the highest footfalls since BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION.

GADAR (2001), BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION (2017) and now PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE are the three legendary films this century now and stand above the others. Two of them are dubbed films from the South and this has never happened before in history as most of the legendary films are from the Hindi film industry. The only other film from the South which reached this elevated status was CHANDRALEKHA way back in 1948.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is on the verge of a history double century in Mumbai circuit and has hit that mark today as it stood at 199 crore nett apprx at the end of business on Wednesday. Basically the film will have done 200 crore nett in two weeks and there is much more to come and it could be a 250 crore nett finish for the film.

The best for an original Hindi film is 158 crore nett of STREE 2 and it is because of this circuit that it will be a dream for an original Hindi film to beat the Hindi collections of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE for some time. The sort of cinema coming from the Hindi film industry at the moment means even 200 crore nett is out of reach in Mumbai let alone wherever the final numbers of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE reach.

This is a circuit where it will be films from the South which can challenge records in the present time and it has taken PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE to beat BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and this trend is likely to remain. It is the biggest circuit for films in Hindi and record numbers here make it easier to set all India records. The importance is such that PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE can smash the all India record by a margin despite limited South collections and that is mainly because Mumbai is so huge. Both Maharashtra and Gujarat have seen unbelievable numbers.

There are many huge Hindi films set to release in the next couple of years and expected to put up huge numbers but the problem will remain in Mumbai circuit and if one or two of these are able to BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION that itself will also be a feat. This is a result of the cinema in the decade before the pandemic which had limited mass appeal and now with the change in audience profile, this appeal has to be another level and this is a tough ask for writers and makers in Hindi cinema at present but there is always hope.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) set more records on the third Friday as it collected a record 10.50 crore nett apprx on its third Friday. This is the highest third Friday of all time just edging past the 10.10 crore nett of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. These are the only two films that have gone into double digits on the third Friday and both are dubbed films.

The highest third Friday for an original Hindi is the 9 crore nett of STREE 2. This third Friday sets up PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE for another record weekend and the harder part is getting the week record with business being more weekend lopsided compared to the time of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. But here, PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE will have the Christmas holiday factor in play which will mean the highest third week of all time. 

The film continues with incredible business all over. There is a slight under performance in the North if we compare with the business in West and Central India but even then, North India can hit ALL TIME RECORDS. Its just that the margins will be limited if it manages to do. This Friday saw the release of MUFASA: THE LION KING and VANVAAS but the film remain pretty much unaffected. On Wednesday, it will be the release of BABY JOHN and again this film will remain unstoppable.

There have been some huge BLOCKBUSTERS in the last few years with KGF - CHAPTER 2, PATHAAN, GADAR 2, JAWAN, ANIMAL and STREE 2. But PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is a level above and clearly the third biggest BLOCKBUSTER this century after GADAR (2001) and BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. The 700 crore nett benchmark is on for the film and if it runs through January which is very much possible, it will easily cross 700 crore nett.

The BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION record collection for the second week stood for 7 years and it will take a huge achievement by any film to break this PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE record in the next few years no matter how big the film is. In fact the best after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION were smaller films like STREE 2 and GADAR 2. The second week tends to define the final outcome of the box office and now the top two films are dubbed films from the South and it will be no surprise if more are added in the next decade. As mentioned yesterday, until the big original Hindi films can compete with the big South films in Mumbai circuit, it becomes very difficult to put up the highest numbers.

There is NO domination of dubbed South films in the all India market as generally week in week out they will bite the dust. Around Diwali there were films like AMARAN and LUCKY BHASKAR that did well in there local areas but were washed out in Hindi and this will be the case with 99% of the dubbed films as they hold no appeal whatsoever. But there will some films with a certain feel and look and characterization which at the moment is not possible from the Hindi film industry and those will blow the box office away. These will be few and far between but will be there until the audience tastes or audience profile change but that will not be for sometime.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) had a huge third Saturday of 18 crore nett again smashing all records and while doing so became the highest grosser in Hindi as it went past the numbers of STREE 2 which were set just a few months back. The film stands at a huge 594 crore nett in seventeen days and today it will hit another milestone as it becomes the first film to hit the 600 crore nett mark.

The film will have 600 crore nett up on the board and then the Christmas and New Year period will start which is going to benefit the film hugely. It may well be flirting with the 700 crore nett mark when this holiday period is over. The numbers continue to be mindboggling all over especially core Hindi speaking belts.

The film is now looking at a 100 crore nett finish in Gujarat/Saurashtra which is an unbelievable feat as there are only 14 films including PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE itself which have done 100 crore nett in the whole Mumbai circuit and here this film is doing 100 crore nett in just the Gujarat/Saurashtra side of the circuit. Pre pandemic no film, apart from BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION, had crossed 50 crore nett in Gujarat. 

The year has ended on high with PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and there was another record grosser with STREE 2 but despite these two films its still been a very bad year overall with very few bright spots.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) continued with fantastic collections on its second Tuesday as it collected 16.75 crore nett apprx. There is a drop compared to the outstanding hold in Monday but it does not really matter as collections are at insanely high levels. The film now has a total of 538 crore nett across India in Hindi and should hit the 550 crore nett mark today (Second Wednesday). It will cross this mark in only thirteen days.

This is coming with a limited South release and if it was an organic Hindi film, you can add 25 crore nett for a fair value of 575 crore nett. The film has already set a new high for the second week as it cruises past the 142 crore nett record of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. The second week stands at 150 crore nett and it is looking to cross the 175 crore nett mark in the second week alone.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE will see competition with MUFASA: THE LION KING but that is a for a different audience and hence, will not be affected much. There will be a reduction of shows in multiplexes but its third week now and that also will hardly make a difference. The target will be to remain in double digits on the third Friday this week and then take benefit of the holiday period over Christmas and New Year.

The film is already the third highest grossing film in Hindi and will cross JAWAN (Hindi) by the end of the week. Its likely to beat STREE 2 by the end of business on Saturday to become the highest grossing Hindi film ever.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has collected a huge 875 crore nett across India in all versions which makes it the second highest grossing film ever in India after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. The film will cross the 900 crore nett mark by the end of the week and then will go on to be the second film to hit 1000 crore nett and also become the highest grosser ever.

The contributions are now pretty limited in the South but there is plenty of gas left in the tank for the Hindi version which will take it through all the milestones. Even in South, if we take the Nizam/Andhra territory as it is for us with Marathawada included then in South, there is also a 30% plus contribution from the Hindi version in the weekdays of the second week.

The overseas collections are $26 million till now in all versions which is 220 crore and the India GROSS is 1054 crore giving the film a total of 1274 crore in eight days. The business in overseas could have been better as it looks to be heading towards the same range as KALKI 2898 AD and that too because of the Christmas and New Year period. If the next couple of weeks were normal, it may have stayed below KALKI 2898 AD. The Hindi version of the film will do well in the next two weeks.

The Hindi version of the film stands at around 750 crore worldwide and here the film will go well over 900 crore and maybe even to 950 crore making it the best after JAWAN and PATHAAN. But dubbed Hindi releases have a much weaker release in Overseas and even in India, they are less in Hindi than organic Hindi films.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) showed an extraordinary hold on its second Monday as the Hindi mass circuits went bonkers and hardly dropped from the second Friday. The likes of Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Bihar were showing drops of only 10-15% and the numbers itself were crazy and at a very high level. The overall drop is 20% from the second Friday.

CP Berar was almost 2 crore nett and this is a number that very films have managed to hit on the opening day. The collections of both STREE 2 and JAWAN were less than 2 crore nett on day two and here the film is getting similar numbers on its second Monday. This hold indicates carnage over the next few weeks in these Hindi speaking circuits.

The film did see drops ranging in the 25-35% range in Delhi/UP, East Punjab and West Bengal but this is still better than a normal second Monday drop. The only reason they look like drops is due to the phenomenal holds in other places. The film collected a huge 20 crore nett on its second Monday which puts the film at 521 crore nett till date. 

The second week has so far collected 134 crore nett and its likely the second week will go to 175 crore nett plus which just smashes the long standing second week record of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION at 142 crore nett. This hold on the second Monday across the core mass pockets means the film could now go to 700 crore nett.
