Veteran writer K V Vijayendra Prasad has little time to bask in the smashing success of RRR, helmed by director-son S S Rajamouli. The famed writer is busy developing the scripts of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Rowdy Rathore 2 and Rajamouli’s next with Mahesh Babu. But not many know that Prasad is set to foray into Hollywood with an Indo-American movie that will be announced in mid-2022.

It is heard that the offer came his way when RRR was being filmed. A trade source reveals, “This is the first time that K V Vijayendra Prasad has been approached to write an Indo-American story that will be jointly backed by Indian filmmakers and a Hollywood studios. The narrative will span across India, Pakistan and the USA. The historical drama will be helmed by an Indian director, and will feature a mix of Hollywood and Bollywood stars. The mega-budget entertainer will go on floors by the year-end, and will be predominantly made in English.”

While the noted writer confirms the Indo-American project, he remains tight-lipped about the details. “All I can say is that the writing is complete. This is the first time that I am writing an Indo-American story. The creators approached me last year when I gave them a concept that they liked and wanted to take it forward. They plan to announce it in mid-2022,” he says.
