Two songs will be shot in January

In March, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna had come together for the final leg of Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy action adventure, Brahmastra, in Mumbai. However, the shoot was halted mid-way following the lockdown brought in by the Coronavirus pandemic. During the last seven months, Ayan worked on the editing and the visual effects, coordinating with teams from across the globe. On Monday, he kicked off a 10-day schedule in a Mumbai studio with RK, Alia, Nagarjuna and Mouni. However, two songs with his lead couple will be shot in January.
“It’s a conscious decision to reserve the songs for next year because Ayan wants to shoot them on a grand scale with lots of background dancers. The team is optimistic that the on-ground scenario will improve by then. At the same time, they are exploring other mediums without compromising on the visuals,” revealed a source.
They have already shot for 173 days and this 10-day stint will take the tally to 183 days. By the time the film wraps up, it will be 200 days. The release date will be locked once cinemas all across the country and the globe reopen and start recording good footfalls.
While Ranbir plays Shiva, who has power to emit fire from his hand, Alia is his love interest Isha. Nagarjuna slips into the role of an archaeologist with Bachchan as RK’s guru and Mouni as the antagonist. Shah Rukh Khan, in a cameo, plays a scientist.
