Prep for Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial comeback Sadak 2, which is a sequel to his 1991 romantic thriller and features his daughters Alia and Pooja Bhatt alongside Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur, is in full swing. Recently, Mahesh and Pooja flew to Romania, where they had initially planned to recreate Mumbai, to scout for locations. Now, Mirror has learnt that the landscape of the European country didn’t really meet the duo’s vision, so the makers have decided to shoot the portions in the city.Confirming the news, producer Mukesh Bhatt told Mirror, “Yes, it’s true. We didn’t find locations like Mumbai in Romania, so we would be shooting those portions here. The film will also be shot in other parts of India. The creative decision to not go ahead with Romania was taken by Mahesh, who is directing the film. We are putting up a set at Mehboob studio in Bandra where Sanjay and Alia will join us on the first day in mid-May.”
Previously, the team had also travelled to Kedarnath and Rishikesh for a recce. Sadak 2 marks Mahesh Bhatt’s return to direction 20 years after the 1999 Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Manisha Koirala-starrer action-crime-thriller Kartoos.
