VIKRAM VEDHA has finished its run and will end up with business around 79.50 crore nett which is a dull performance. These numbers have come with the benefit of a holiday for Gandhi Jayanti though it fell on a Sunday limiting the impact. But there was also Durga Puja in East which meant the film did Average/Semi Hit business in West Bengal.
The scary part of this film was that much of the industry actually thought this was a good film and even more laughable was they thought it had good reports. So what happens here that it becomes about the audience not coming rather than an issue with the film when the problem is easily the latter and the trailer itself was suggesting limited entertainment.
The film has fared a little better overseas grossing around $5.1 million notching up good numbers in Gulf which very few films have done post the pandemic. The worldwide business of the film will finish in the 136-137 crore range.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA till date are as follows
Week One - 58,77,00,000
Week Two - 15,63,00,000
Week Three - 3,91,00,000
Week Four - 98,00,000
Week Five - 15,00,000
Week Six - 3,00,000 (3 days)

VIKRAM VEDHA crashed out on its third Friday as it collected only 50-55 lakhs nett and this was mainly due to the lower rates. Now, the 80 crore nett mark looks difficult for the film. The film would have no doubt collected 25-35% more on normal rates.
The most important point here is that these concessional rates are not going to work unless its a one off and that has to be occasional and not every other week. There is more than enough evidence out there over the last few weeks.
The problem with pricing for the audience is the food and beverage where popcorn has to be priced considerably lower than the ticket price like in the West and its down to the multiplexes to do something here to help the film industry. If not, then the industry just has to keep on going and hopefully things will get better.
The playing around with ticket pricing has to STOP as the last thing we need now is a segment of the audience waiting for offers on ticket rates when they interested in a film and this can easily happen which will create another problem. It will again be an issue for films and the industry as multiplexes don't mind lower rates as their bigger profits come from food and beverage. Just accept the facts it has not worked and will not work and move on.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA till date are as follows
Week One - 58,77,00,000
Second Week - 15,75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 55,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 75,07,00,000 apprx

VIKRAM VEDHA collected a poor 15.75 crore nett apprx in week one which is a drop of 72% and seals the fate of the film if it had not been already. The two week collection of the film is 74.50 crore nett and it is looking like the film will just about struggle to hit the 80 crore nett mark.
There has been no big release but the competition is much more than last week which will see VIKRAM VEDHA do limited business in week three. When a film does not find appreciation, then the competition tends to hit hard.
The film is going to do lower business than the Hrithik Roshan starrer KAABIL which released in 2017 and even Overseas may struggle to do KAABIL numbers though overseas is a better than India. There has been a better performance in West Bengal which has hit 7 crore nett plus and South but lower numbers than a film like SAMRAT PRITHVIRAJ in mass circuits is the killer for the film.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA till date are as follows
Week One - 58,77,00,000
Second Week - 15,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 74,52,00,000 apprx

VIKRAM VEDHA continued with low collections on the weekdays of its second week as it reached 72 crore nett after 11 days. The second week should collect close to 17 crore nett which will mean a drop of around 70% and that is too high for a film which did not collect well in week one.
There seems to better appreciation in South even though the film is a remake of a Tamil film which more people in the South would have seen. West Bengal is best but that can be put down to the extended holiday period for Durga Puja. The rejection is outright elsewhere from Punjab to Rajasthan to Madhya Pradesh to Gujarat and these areas are far more important for the success of a Hindi film.
In North, the reports were poor on release but the results should have been better in the likes of Gujarat and Maharashtra as the audience verdict seemed to be better there but it was not to be.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA till date are as follows
Week One - 58,77,00,000
Friday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 4,25,00,000 apprx

VIKRAM VEDHA had a poor second weekend as the film could not grow on the second Sunday. The Sunday was flat and it picked up 10.75 crore nett for the weekend. The business on Sunday was generally was low and this is probably because of the cricket match and also because Saturday saw good growth for all films.
This leaves VIKRAM VEDHA with a little under 70 crore nett in ten days and because Sunday did not add well, the 90 crore nett mark looks tough to reach. The film has been totally rejected in mass centres and if it manages to reach till 85 crore nett, it will be thanks to the city multiplexes and West Bengal.
The film is a HIT in West Bengal due to Puja as the film will do business in the range of GANGUBAI KATHIAWADI and SOORYAVANSHI in this circuit of 7.5-8 crore nett. But even here, the performance in single screens could had been better.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA till date are as follows
Week One - 58,77,00,000
Friday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 4,25,00,000 apprx
Second Weekend - 10,75,00,000 apprx

GOODBYE collected around 1.35 crore nett on its second showing growth of around 50%. The growth is not enough for the film and this is when Saturday looked good for the box office with some huge growth for holdover films like PONNIYIN SELVAN - PART 1 and BRAHMASTRA which roughly doubled their Friday collections.
Nothing much was expected from GOODBYE and the box office performance reflects that. Sunday is unlikely to help as the key day for these type of films is Saturday and 50% growth is just not good enough.
The collections of GOODBYE are as follows.
Friday - 90,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,35,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 2,25,00,000 apprx
VIKRAM VEDHA went up well on its second Saturday as collections were around 60-65% up for a 4-4.25 crore nett total on its second Saturday. This takes the film to 65 crore nett and its looking at a 90 crore nett finish.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA till date are as follows
TOTAL - 58,87,00,000
Friday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
Second Weekend - 6,50,00,000 apprx

The new release GOODBYE collected a poor 90 lakhs nett on day one. The film had discounted rates on day one but it did not really work for the film as collected are less than DHOKHA ROUND D CORNER on day one when it should really have been more.
DHOKHA ROUND D CORNER got the benefit of cinema day and tickets rate worth Rs. 75 while the Rs. 150 has not really worked here as GOODBYE should be collecting more than the R Madhavan starrer in any situation. There should be some growth over the weekend but you cant go anywhere from this sort of start.
VIKRAM VEDHA collected 2.50-2.75 crore nett apprx on day eight which is a drop of 20-25% apprx from Thursday and it really had to be same as Friday if it is to reach the 100 crore nett mark. The film continues to be dull in mass centres and the film was actually replaced by a film GODFATHER (Hindi) in many single screens across mass circuits and GODFATHER itself is a rejected film.
VIKRAM VEDHA should put up fair numbers on Saturday and Saturday and could do around 90 crore nett for lifetime business which is a poor result. The plus is West Bengal due to Puja and Nizam/Andhra has also done fair business.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA till date are as follows
Friday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 14,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 5,50,00,000 apprx

VIKRAM VEDHA collected a low 59 crore nett in its first week. The film has done well in a few circuits but generally the business is poor. There was a drop of business post Dussehra but that was expected. The film did not open well but the killer was the public not liking the film in the important circuits. If the audiences had liked in Maharastra, Delhi/UP, Punjab and Gujarat the film still could have got somewhere despite the dull start.
The film now must hold collections on Friday in the same range as Thursday as that will help the film have a shot of 90 crore or maybe even 100 crore. This will still be a dull performance but at least it will be a little more than a one week runner. The film could have given the industry a huge boost if the film worked coming on the heels of the success of BRAHMASTRA but now its on to the Diwali releases.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA for the first week are as follows
Friday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 14,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 5,50,00,000 apprx

VIKRAM VEDHA collected in the 7-7.50 crore nett range on Wednesday which was a holiday for Dussehra. The collections went up but it was the expected growth where word of mouth is not there for a film. The hope was that mass areas really picked up as they have been so low pre Dussehra and went more towards the first day collection.
There was some decent growth in Gujarat but even here the film could not reach first day numbers which were hit badly by Navratri. The film is also not collecting well in the Northern belts of Delhi/UP and East Punjab despite it being Dussehra holiday which gives good push in North.
The first week business of the film should be around 59-60 crore nett and then it will be about the second Friday. With GODFATHER going down on the first day of release, there actually will not be much competition for VIKRAM VEDHA.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA for the first weekend are as follows.
Friday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 14,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 5,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 5,75,00,000 apprx

VIKRAM VEDHA continued its decent weekday run as it collected around 5.75 crore nett as the Dusshera holiday today benefitted the film in the evening shows yesterday. There is a problem with collections in mass centres as practically everyday, they come in lower than expected but that may change from the Dussehra holiday today.
The collections of the film in the likes of Gujarat/Saurashtra and CP, CI are at low levels and that must turnaround today. A circuit like CP Berar hardly grew 10% on Sunday when the norm is 40-50% and that is on a normal Sunday and not a national holiday. The total collections of the film are now around 48.75 crore nett. With some decent growth today, the film should reach the 60 crore nett mark for week one.
The second Friday will be crucial as there is limited competition with GOODBYE and dubbed GODFATHER (this has Salman Khan in guest role but the film looks like a typical Telugu film which is a total no no for Hindi audiences, irrespective of the South bandwagon story in media). If it can hold really well, there is an outside chance of VIKRAM VEDHA being an AVERAGE fare.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA for the first weekend are as follows
Friday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 14,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 5,50,00,000 apprx

VIKRAM VEDHA had a fair hold on Monday as collections were down less than 45% but collections remain low. The film needed to be looking at a 30% drop due to the low weekend but still this drop is not that bad and gives it a chance of a run till Diwali.
The collections are boosted by the holiday period in East as the likes of West Bengal and Odisha continue to do well and final collections could be a little higher if these circuits go to the level of Friday. This advantage will stay till Dussehra and on Wednesday it will have a chance to improve collections in core circuits of North, West and Central.
The first week will depend on where the film lands on Wednesday but with 43 crore nett already up on the board it should have a shot at 60 crore nett in the first week or even more if it can really jump on Wednesday. The target now is basically to remain in cinemas and pick up whatever it can and if can really sustain well then there is an outside chance of being an AVERAGE fare.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA for the first weekend are as follows
Friday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 14,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 5,75,00,000 apprx

VIKRAM VEDHA found it tough going on day one but some places did manage to actually get good numbers. The film will collect around 10 crore nett on day one and this is despite all Hindi mass circuits not collecting well.
The film has been boosted by collections in West Bengal, Nizam/Andhra and Mysore as opening day numbers in these places are like a successful film but the more important markets for Hindi films be it North, West and Central India are all low.
The advance suggested better numbers in West Bengal and South India and that is what has happened and South has performed better even though the film is a remake of a South film. The Hrithik Roshan factor is helping in these circuits also as that is all the film had going for it initially as there was no music.
The other issue is the film is a gangster film based in North India. So in Hindi film history, gangster films have never really fared well in North but do far better in Maharashtra. Here that audience in Maharashtra is negated due to locality and ambience of the film being North. Its a remake of a Tamil film but its a different kettle of fish to make a gangster subject work in Hindi due to a totally different audience across the Hindi circuit regions.
The hope is now the reports which maybe decent in some areas though the tough part will be to get growth in the core Hindi circuits. If the film can hold up on Monday then it could do well post Dussehra or that is the hope. The film should have been released on Dussehra anyway as the box office would have been better with Navratri and Dussehra festivities out of the way. There is Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October but that falls on Sunday so its a very limited boost.
--------------------------------
VIKRAM VEDHA showed decent growth on Saturday of around 25% as it collected 12.75 crore nett. The overall collections of the film still remain low but the trajectory can be called decent. There is potential for more than normal growth on Sunday due to Gandhi Jayanti which can help the trend further.
The two day number of the film stand at around 23 crore nett which is low but there are areas which have done well. West Bengal is doing HIT business for the film thanks to Durga Puja and the Hrithik Roshan factor and Nizam/Andhra and Mysore are also good. The rest of the country is poor even though there was some solid growth in Mumbai and North India.
The numbers from mass circuits be it Gujarat, Rajasthan or CI are the killer for the film as its action film and these places should be driving the film. The hope will be that the film can have some sort of hold on Monday and these places can do better from Dussehra though that maybe hard as it looks more of a gentry film than a mass film.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA for the first two days are as follows
Friday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 23,00,00,000 apprx
--------------------------------
VIKRAM VEDHA had a modest first weekend of 37.50 crore nett though collections were good in a few circuits. The opening was not great but the bigger problem was the word of mouth of the film in mass circuits which did allow the film to have a good trajectory over the weekend.
The film managed decent growth on Saturday for a film with such a wide release but the killer was Sunday as it was a national holiday for Gandhi Jayanti and growth should have been good and far better than a normal Sunday but here the film hardly managed to go up 20%. This was mainly as the mass audience has not been very receptive towards the film so there was no big Sunday push. This should have been easy considering the level of collections on Saturday.
The timing of the release is not good with Navratri and pre Dussehra and then a big cricket match on Sunday which could have hit a little. But even allowing for this, the film should have collected better. A SAMRAT PRITHVIRAJ which was doing better in some mass circuits only had a better weekend and similar trajectory, here a film which is more multiplex friendly should have at least have a better trajectory. Now its about some sort of hold on Monday and then some benefit over the Dussehra period.
The collections of VIKRAM VEDHA for the first weekend are as follows
Friday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 14,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 37,50,00,000 apprx
