TUBELIGHT will not reach 115 crore nett business as collections have faded badly since the first week. The film stands at 114.56 crore nett and will add just 1-2 lakhs more. It has just about edged past BADRINATH KI DULHANIA to be third highest grosser of 2017 after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and RAEES.

In 2014 another Salman Khan under performer JAI HO managed to get 1.44 crore footfalls but here the figure is looking to be just 1.15 crore so in real terms is far below JAI HO. The footfalls of TUBELIGHT are actually less than even BADRINATH KI DULHANIA. The weekly collections of TUBELIGHT till date are as follows.

The industry was doing pretty well until TUBELIGHT and is on a horrible run since TUBELIGHT and is in desperate need of a HIT. All films released post TUBELIGHT have also flopped barring a LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA but that hardly has footfalls to be jubilant. The problem with these films is not just flopping but the openings are a bit of a disaster as well.

TUBELIGHT is looking at another huge fall in the third week as it has collected less than 1 crore nett in the third week in the first four days. The third week is likely to finish at around 1.25 crore nett and the lifetime business of the film will go to a little over 115 crore nett.

In terms of footfalls its the worst Salman Khan performer since VEER in 2010. A WANTED released in 2009 did 60 crore nett but had far higher footfalls than TUBELIGHT. The daily collections of TUBELIGHT till date are as follows.

The business of the film is looking to be around 33 crore nett in Mumbai, around 25 crore nett In Delhi /UP and around 13.25 crore nett in East Punjab. The film has performed best in North comparatively.

TUBELIGHT grossed a poor 12 crore nett apprx in week two as it took its two week collection to 114.50 crore nett. The drop week on week is a huge 88% and there is not much to come in the third week as the film goes down to 1-2 screenings at most multiplexes. It will probably be a 116 crore nett finish for the film which will mean not even adding 15 crore nett post the first week.

The second week figures are the lowest for a Salman Khan film since the 6 crore nett of VEER in 2010. They are also lower than most of the major releases this year and even a film like HINDI MEDIUM having better second week collections. The top second week collections of 2017 are as follows.

The above seven are the only films to cross 10 crore nett in the first week. If we look at outright Hindi films which does not include BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION then TUBELIGHT will be the highest grosser till date in Bihar, Assam and Odisha mainly because no outright Hindi film has really collected here and there was two solid holidays in these parts post Eid in week one.

TUBELIGHT grossed 1.10 crore nett apprx on its second Tuesday taking its business to 112.75 crore nett. The collections will come down into lakhs soon and the third week will be a huge struggle as the film is not even getting one full screen (4-5 shows) at multiplexes

The all India business of Tubelight is more than Jai Ho but in many circuits like Mumbai, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Bihar it will remain lower than Jai Ho. In Mumbai the business will fall short of RAEES, BADRINATH KI DULHANIA and JOLLY LLB 2. The daily collections of TUBELIGHT till date are as follows.

TUBELIGHT grossed 1.25 crore nett on its second Monday and took its total to 111.50 crore nett apprx. The film is likely to end the first week at 12-12.50 crore nett which is the worst second week number for a Salman Khan film since VEER in 2010.

The film continues to outperform in UP where the second week collections would be decent if it was a normal film. The film has performed very poorly in Gujarat, Nizam/Andhra, CP Berar, CI, Rajasthan and Bihar and these areas tend to show strong numbers for Salman Khan films especially on Eid. TUBELIGHT had a huge drop in collections in its second weekend as it grossed 7.50 crore nett and took its ten day business to 110 crore nett. The film has fared poorly across the board with cities in UP being the best but that is just comparatively with rest of India. The collections are still very low.

The film will probably be out most theatres in two weeks and is likely to stay short of the 120 crore nett mark with final business probably falling in the 115-116 crore nett range which is just a little higher than BADRINATH KI DULHANIA and well short of RAEES which was an under performer. TUBELIGHT did not get that normal 50% plus second Saturday growth as it was coming off an holiday period and the film has been rejected. The film was up around 30% on its second Saturday. The film has grossed 4.75 crore nett on its second Friday and Saturday and looks likely to be around 8 crore nett for the weekend.

These second weekend collections are lower than all the cast films released this year, even a dud like KAABIL was higher in the second weekend and a low to medium budget HINDI MEDIUM was also better. The daily collections of TUBELIGHT till date are as follows.

TUBELIGHT continued to drop on day eight with collections in the 2-2.25 crore nett range The film has grossed 105 crore nett apprx so far and the second weekend may do around 9 crore but that is if it gets normal weekend growth on Saturday and Sunday. The film is coming off a holiday period and then it is not known how GST is going to play out. So there is a good chance the growth may not be normal and the film struggles to get 9 crore nett over the weekend. The film will probably end up being the second highest grosser of the first half after RAEES if we count only outright Hindi films. TUBELIGHT has grossed 103 crore nett in its first week but saw drops as the post Eid factor started dropping out in various circuits from Wednesday onwards. The collections on Thursday were just 4.25 crore nett. It has still managed the second highest first week of the year after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION (Hindi) but that is irrelevant as the film is collecting much lower than it should. The film has faced rejection and because of that the collections have come down so fast that would not have been seen in an Eid release before. The second week is going to be scary as even at these low levels, the film is still getting extra collection due to post Eid but that will all go within the next day or two. Then the film will be back to normal ratios and the way it is going the 125 crore nett mark for lifetime business could prove difficult.

TUBELIGHT crashed on Wednesday with a drop of 50% and even here the collections are still being aided by the post Eid factor. The normal scenario is a 30-35% drop on the day after Bassi Eid. If it was not for this post Eid factor then the collections would be even lower. The film has grossed around 5.75 crore nett on Wednesday taking its collections to nearly 99 crore nett. There will be a further drop on Thursday while things will be almost be back to normal on Friday (UP could still help) with the weekend showing every circuit at normal ratios. The first week is now set to finish below the 105 crore nett mark. The first five day collections of TUBELIGHT are as follows.

The second week will bring very low collections and it could mean that the film struggles to reach the 125 crore nett mark.

The collections of TUBELIGHT dropped on Tuesday but this was expected after what happened Monday. The drop would have been more but still some places are doing better because of post Eid. The film grossed 11.75 crore nett to take its total to 93 crore nett in the first week. There is a big downward trend for the film all over the country. The falls are huge in parts where there is no Eid advantage. The week looks like closing at around 106-107 crore nett which is not good. More than the numbers it is the trend of film which is the big problem as collections are coming down fast. The first five day collections of TUBELIGHT are as follows.

RAEES is the biggest grosser of the first half of 2017 at 128.77 crore if we count only outright Hindi films and TUBELIGHT was expected to zoom past it. But now there is even a question mark whether it will even get to the RAEES number and at least stand above the all the Hindi films released in 2017. Its looking a very close call and Friday will probably give a better idea.

TUBELIGHT grossed 18.50 crore nett apprx on Monday and took its four day total to over 81 crore nett. It was a national holiday and hence the figure looks fine as only a little down from day one and the previous day but the problem is its post Eid and the film should have got back some of the business it lost over the weekend. So ideally the film should have had its best day on Monday. The film earned a solid 62 crore nett plus over the weekend and from there if it had got the normal post Eid trend then another 70 crore was there for the weekdays. That would have taken the film to over 130 crore nett for the week. This will not happen now as its Monday has not trended the way it should have due to the reports. The first week business is still difficult to judge as the film is still going to get the benefit of post Eid for a few days and it will be Friday that all things will be equal. There have been circuits that have grown from the first day with Nizam/Andhra showing big gains of close to 30%. But then then there are some cities in UP which should have shown even bigger gains than this but have not been able to.

TUBELIGHT grossed 62.75 crore nett over its first weekend which is the second highest weekend collection of the year after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION but that film was double of TUBELIGHT. The weekend figures are pretty good but not blockbuster figures which are the expectations for a Salman Khan on Eid. There was the pre Eid factor over the weekend where Muslims stay away from theatres but even allowing for that, the collections are still lower than they should be for the film to compare with his earlier Eid films. There is a big national holiday on Monday which should keep the collection over 20 crore nett and then some circuits get the benefit of post Eid but the real test will come after that. The film managed to show strong growth in Gujarat/Saurashtra on Sunday but the best business has come in East Punjab which has a very limited Muslim population and it has grossed around 8.25 crore nett in that circuit which is more than the lifetime of KAABIL. The film will easily become the highest grosser of the year in this circuit before the week is out after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION. Delhi city has also done pretty well but the overall Delhi/UP figures are below the mark because of UP.

TUBELIGHT grossed 19.75 crore nett on its second day which is a little down from Friday but pretty much flat collections. The two day business of the film is around 40.50 crore nett which is a good number but not for this film as the expectations are much higher. Ideally the film needed that little growth on Saturday but it has not come. It would have helped if the collections went up rather than down. Big growth pre Eid was going to difficult but it had to repeat what KICK did when released in same period. That film managed in 2014 managed to add around 2% on Saturday while this film has dropped 5% on Saturday.

The surprise is mass pockets as here the reports are not good due to the slow pace of the film and Salman Khan going against his image. A 10-15% drop would have been the norm here have but the drop is just 5% with the Gujarat/Saursahtra belt even showing growth. This could be due to the fact as some of these mass places did not start huge big on day one and with pre Eid, the collections are going up and down. The other circuit to show growth is Mysore while East Punjab which has no pre Eid effect dropped 8% from a good  start on Friday. The trend in East Punjab puts a real big number out of the question but if it can show a 3 crore nett on Sunday the film still may manage a decent run. Most circuits are going to do well till Wednesday and even Thursday but the figures in East Punjab on Tuesday will tell where this film is going as by Friday it will be behaving how East Punjab behaves on Tuesday.

The opening is below expectations but there is the Muslim audience still to come post Monday and for the film to post a decent final number this audience has to turn up post Monday. It will also be crucial to have growth on Sunday as if the film is unable to grow then the writing will be on the wall.

TUBELIGHT grossed 20.50-21 crore nett on day which would be a very good number for most films but this one has higher expectations being an Eid Salman Khan starrer. The collections are similar to RAEES released earlier this year but that film clashed with KAABIL and although KAABIL hardly collected, it took screens away from RAEES which meant the 20.50 crore nett of RAEES came on a much lower capacity than the 20.5 crore nett of TUBELIGHT. The film needed to be at least 25 crore nett as a KICK had done 24.97 crore nett and BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN 26.67 crore nett and both these films were also pre Eid releases. Being a social film, it would have compared with those films as they were more in the action and masala space.

The film is the opposite to RAEES as far as circuit business is concerned as TUBELIGHT is best in East Punjab and Delhi city and RAEES was worst here while RAEES was strong in Gujarat and West Bengal but TUBELIGHT is worst here. The film has done very well in Assam probably due to the local appeal but that is such a small circuit that it hardly registers as per the all India picture. East Punjab has grossed 2.78 crore nett which has no pre Eid factor as limited Muslim audience and on this fair value for the film would be 25 crore nett. So it lost 4 crore nett because of Muslims not coming out.

The opening is below expectations but there is the Muslim audience still to come post Monday and for the film to post a decent final number this audience has to turn up post Monday. It will also be crucial to have growth on Saturday as if the film is unable to grow then the writing will be on the wall.
