SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI had low collections on Wednesday as it collected 2.25 crore nett taking its seven day total to 39.50 crore nett. TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA was 41 crore nett, BAD NEWZ was 43 crore nett and PARAM SUNDARI was 37 crore nett in the same time frame. All these films are in a similar zone and collections are also pretty much in the same range.

Only TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA went on and doubled its first week collections and that is out of the question for SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI. The film had managed to stay afloat over the first six days but needed the Wednesday to be around the Monday collection but it fell well short of that target.

The film has two weekends with hardly any new competition to add but with collections at this level on Wednesday and with less than 40 crore nett on the board, it cant really go anywhere.

SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI got a minimal jump on discounted Tuesday which is may be down to the offer on Monday though it was the same with PARAM SUNDARI. That film got the regular 20-25% jump on Tuesday. SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI collected 3.50 crore nett on Tuesday to takes its total to almost 37.50 crore nett.

The film has just about managed to stay afloat but now it will be the crunch on Wednesday as it needs to hold again around the 3 crore nett mark if it is to have any chance of a run with decent collections. This will not be easy considering the Monday collections were a little more than 3 crore nett.

The first week of SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI is probably heading for around 41-42 crore nett which will be more than PARAM SUNDARI and same as the first week of TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA though here, its eight days instead of seven. The film does not seem to have the trend of TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA; it will do better than PARAM SUNDARI but the cost for that film was lower.

SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI collected in the 3-3.25 crore nett range on Monday taking its five day total to almost 34 crore nett. The hold is fine from Friday as its just a little over 40% but that Friday was not the first day and the collections had dropped giving it a low Friday. The collections are down from the first day but that was a national holiday.

The trend is actually a litter better than expected with the business on the weekend and Monday having a tendency to fall hard due to the discounted Tuesday but the problem is that the collections are low.

These films like SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI, PARAM SUNDARI and TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA have all had similar collections on Monday and all been driven by offers to entice the audience. TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA went on to do well at the box office and it remains to be seen what SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI can do. It has an open run till Diwali. So, there are another two weekends left for the film but it can only get some benefit if collections hold towards the end of the week.

The first week will comfortably cross 40 crore nett. TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA grossed 41 crore nett in a week and this can be more than that but it will be over eight days. The holiday benefit on day one is making collections look better as without that, they become much lower.

SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI collected 30.75 crore nett over its extended first weekend of four days which is a reasonable collection for the genre today but the trend is not there for the film. The film started well enough on the first day thanks to the holiday but the business of Saturday and Sunday was not upto the mark as neither of the days could reach the first day number.

The collections of the film are mainly down to that first day as with a normal Friday it would have been around 6 crore nett and it would have been a worse scenario going by the trend over the weekend. The fear was that KANTARA: A LEGEND – CHAPTER 1 could have been a huge blockbuster which would have hit SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI. Although the South film has done well, its not that huge blockbuster film letting SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI do its business but content had to better to really benefit.

The film has done better in Mumbai city, NCR and Bangalore but better is not enough as collections cant really be called good. The collections in overseas will be in the $1.1-1.2 million range which is similar to PARAM SUNDARI. Its pretty much similar in Overseas but the holiday makes India look better. The weekend trend will make it a tough ride on the weekdays.

SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI managed a 40% jump on Saturday and it should have done better where the jump is similar to the one for KANTARA: A LEGEND – CHAPTER 1 especially as this film caters to places which do the best on Saturday. The film collected 7.50 crore nett apprx on Saturday which takes the film to almost 23 crore nett after 3 days.

The film is doing better in the metros like Mumbai, NCR and Bangalore which is pretty much on the expected lines but that is not enough for a film like this today. In the pre pandemic times, it was a different story as these places almost with a couple of the other centres could drive a film to success.

The film is almost 20% down on its first day which is probably too much. The film really had to get over the first day collection on Sunday but this Saturday makes that 20% jump on Sunday for a film doing best in a few metros a tough ask. It had to match the trend of KANTARA: A LEGEND – CHAPTER 1 on Saturday as on Sunday it was always not going to match the South film growth due to lack of mass appeal.

SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI saw a drop in business on Friday which was on the normal lines and happens to all films which release on Thursday with a national holiday. The film collected 5.50 crore nett which is a low collection but it will make up ground today and attempt to go around the day one figure.

The film is faring better at the bigger multiplexes of the metros and due to the extended weekend, the film should come out with decent numbers for four days as long as the expected growth comes through over the next two days. Then its down to how the film can collect on the weekdays and after.

The film could have done with a solo release as the genre has a limited audience but then you would not get that bonus of a holiday in your first weekend. The film has got lucky that KANTARA: A LEGEND – CHAPTER 1 has not piled on the heavy numbers expect in Southern India. But there, SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI is the main Hindi film as KANTARA: A LEGEND – CHAPTER 1 is being watched in regional languages.

Its probably because of this that SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI has some decent collections in South. It is better in South compared to Central and Eastern markets and that is despite KANTARA: A LEGEND – CHAPTER 1 being big in South.
