SATYAPREM KI KATHA is managing to collect despite the Hollywood invasion of the last two weeks. The film has collected 1.85 crore nett in its fourth weekend which is 65% down from last weekend. The film has come through well despite the loss of screen time with MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE, OPPENHEIMER and BARBIE all releasing in the last two weeks and doing well.

The steady collection albeit on the lower side in Gujarat, UP, Rajasthan and MP are helping the film going. The film has now crossed 73 crore nett with a bit more still to come. Just before the release of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE, the 70 crore nett mark looked tough considering the level of collections and the Hollywood biggies to come.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA is also closing in on the 25 crore nett mark in Mumbai circuit which is something films like JUGJUGG JEEYO, VIKRAM VEDHA and BHOLAA failed to do despite being bigger films though all India was in that 75-80 crore nett range. The performance of SATYAPREM KI KATHA in Mumbai is not really an out performance but it looks that way as post pandemic most films have under performed in the circuit.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA had a steady third week as it collected 7.50 crore nett apprx taking its three total to 71 crore nett. The drop week on week is only 55% and that too with competition of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE.

The film has seen a showcasing drop these week in the bigger multiplexes due to OPPENHEIMER, BARBIE and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE THE being first choices. This means a show or two at best at the national chains but cities like Ahmedabad and Surat, which have many multiplexes outside national players, have good showcasing. The fact that the film is doing good business in these cities also helps maintain shows.

The film should add around 3-4 crore nett from here for a finish around the 75 crore nett mark which is a solid result. It will be one of those rare films post pandemic where more than 50% of its costs is recovered from theatres worldwide. The worldwide theatrical recovery will be around 45 crore.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA continues with steady collections in the weekdays of its third week which was not the case last week when collections had dropped. The third week will be comfortably over the 7 crore nett with collections gong towards the 7.50 crore nett mark.

The Gujarat factor is helping this film and when this circuit performs better, a film tends to hold better. The numbers have also pushed this film to better numbers in Mumbai circuit. It is one of those rare post pandemic films where the Mumbai circuit ratio is normal while generally the trend is to underperform.

The fall in the third week is looking to be 55% which is a healthy trend and a similar trends in week four will take it comfortably above the 75 crore nett mark. The film has also managed to do well in US/Canada though numbers from other overseas markets are low.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA is maintaining collections well as 5 crore nett comes in the third weekend and a total of 68.50 crore nett till now. The film looked to be fading but has done well post the release of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE despite the loss of screens.

The film looked to be heading for the 70 crore nett mark on a best case but will now will be over that in three weeks and go towards the 75 crore nett mark. Although its not saying such this will make it the fourth biggest success of the year after PATHAAN, THE KERALA STORY, ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE though there are only five success in total, the other being TU JHOOTHI MAIN MAKKAAR.

The film  should cross the 25 crore nett mark in Mumbai circuit which is a solid performance. The film picked up 80 lakhs nett in Gujarat/Saurashtra over the third weekend which is 16% of the all India collections. The first day was not even the normal 10% ratio even though the film had the local flavour.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA is holding well at the box office now as it collects 1 crore nett on its third Friday. It looked a struggled for the film as the collections dropped on the second Monday and there was MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE coming on Wednesday. But the film has overcome that obstacle well. It is collecting well post the release of the Hollywood film and still has some gas left in the tank. The film now stands at almost 65 crore nett. The collections at many places were better on Friday than Wednesday and Thursday.

The 70 crore nett mark was looking the best case scenario for the film on Monday but now it looks a 75 crore nett plus finish may well be on the cards obviously as long as the regular weekend growth comes for the film. The film now will probably be at around the 70 crore nett mark by the end of the week or maybe even a little higher. It is now looking to be more than AVERAGE and will probably emerge a SEMI HIT film.

The key has been Mumbai circuit which did not start well but the Gujarat/Saurashtra pocket started to perform better after 4-5 days or a better way to put it is that collections started to hold up very well. A film like MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE does not have much of a market in a circuit like Gujarat. This has meant that SATYAPREM KI KATHA is pretty much unaffected in the state which is enabling Mumbai circuit to hold up very well. Considering the look and feel of the film it should still have maybe done better in Mumbai circuit but at least the circuit eventually is going to do well enough for the film to be a solid success.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA maintained its steady run in its second week as it collected 16.50 crore nett apprx. The drop is 65% but that is from an extended eight day first week. Its an under 60% weekly trend if you take out the extra day in the first week.

The film is now doing well in Mumbai circuit and it may turn out to be that rare Hindi film which actually manages to get 50% more in Mumbai than Delhi/UP post the pandemic.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA did pretty well in its second weekend as it clocked up around 12 crore nett as the Gujarat/Saurashtra block continued the better trend after it had stabilized midweek. They are still on the lower side considering the film is semi Gujarati but at least these pockets are leading which should have been from day one.

The fact that the film is now steady and leading in Gujarat now gives it a chance for a longer run now. A lot depends on what happens on Wednesday when MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE releases as there is not much competition then till the end of the month.

The film is looking at 70 crore nett plus finish at the moment but if it can continue to well post the release of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE, then it could go towards the 75-80 crore nett range due to no release till the end of the month. It has been seen post pandemic that holdovers continue to collect once they get over a big hurdle and here the hurdle will be MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE. For ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE, it was ADIPURUSH and that film got a bonus with the Prabhas-starrer crashing which will not happen with the Tom Cruise starrer

SATYAPREM KI KATHA had a fair extended first week of around 47.50 crore nett as it remained steady over the weekdays though saw a drop on the final day of the week. The film has not done great but its not bad either. The collections could have dropped out after the Monday drop but they remain at a decent level with the second weekend to come.

The film has done a little better in CI which is the case of most films of Kartik Aaryan but Mumbai circuit should have done much better as this film is more for that circuit. The business in Gujarat has been steady over the weekdays but numbers are towards the lower side though maybe second weekend will be better comparatively. The film may have affected by the Marathi film BAIPAN BHARI DEVA which is now running riot in the circuit but that film was not there on day one and SATYAPREM KI KATHA was not too good then.

The film needs another good hold today and should really collect a similar number to Thursday which can put in line for a decent second week though there is MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE on Wednesday which will hit business in week two. Overall its the type of film that the mass audience is keeping away from today. So, if the film can get around to that 70 crore nett mark, it will be a fair result for the film.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA held up well on its second Friday collecting around 2.50 crore nett which is not much lower than the day before. It was a must for the film to hold up at around this level and now the test will be midweek as to what happens when MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE releases. If the film can continue well post that, then the film will be an AVERAGE fare.

The film has chances to do business of 70 crore nett plus but it will all depend on the level of collections from midweek onward as that is when the competition arrives. This week the release was NEEYAT which was not really competition and is basically a token gesture release due to the demands of digital players for a theatrical release. The film has probably clocked up around the 70 lakh nett range.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA is on a pretty steady run post the opening weekend, It should basically have done better in the Maharashtra/Gujarat belt and that is the letdown for the film. East is poor but that was sort of expected but the zone and feel of the film should have enabled better collections in Mumbai circuit.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA remained steady on Tuesday with collections in a similar range to Monday which was a must for the film as the collections on Monday were low. The film picked around 3.25-3.50 crore nett on Tuesday which takes the film to 42 crore nett in six days.

The hold on Tuesday gives the film a better chance to pick up better collections in the second week. The business of the film cant be called good but its respectable for what the film is worth. This cinema is more for the pre pandemic era but today box office demographics have changed and the audience for these type of films is less now.

Another issue is that Mumbai circuit has not performed when this circuit should have been the outperformer considering the look and type of content it is. Gujarat/Saurashtra is steady now but that is not enough. Obviously comparisons are there with ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE as that is seen to be in the same zone. So if that can get numbers there is nothing wrong with the zone of the film. But there is one huge difference as that film deals with a lower middle class family while is not the case with SATYAPREM KI KATHA.

So despite being in similar zone, the audience profile is a bit different and on top ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE has HIT music with a song really taking off when the film released. The industry will have to learn to give content to get the lower middle class to cinemas as this audience has not been affected by streaming.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA dropped around 45% on Monday as it collected in the 3.25-3.50 crore nett range. The drop is normal but as the collections on Friday were low due to it being the day after the holiday, the film had to show a lower drop.

This has meant the collections of the film are on the lower side and really needed to be near the 4 crore nett mark. Moreover the drop from Sunday is 70% and that is probably a better judge for a film with an extended weekend.

The film did well on Saturday and Sunday but is down to that so so level on Monday and is now dependent on good holds through the week or at least one day where the drop is very minimal. If the film meanders long with normal weekdays, it will probably be heading for a low second Friday.

The weekend results of the film were a plus for the film industry as a film like this not really offering much (despite what the C's in India say be it trade or others) managed 35 crore nett over four days. If the film was betterm then even today these type of films can still reach the 100 crore nett mark.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA had a decent extended first weekend of around 35 crore nett with good business on Saturday and Sunday. If this numbers was in three days, then it would actually been a good number. But there is a good trend there on Saturday and Sunday for the film to get a run post the weekend.

The film has not collected well in Eastern India and Maharashtra is also weak. There has been bad weather in Maharashtra but that is unlikely to be a problem as Marathi film BAIPAN BHARI DEVI has recorded superb collections across the state. There was huge competition in the North as well with CARRY ON JATTA 3. Both Delhi city is pretty good and even East Punjab is reasonable considering how other Hindi films have fared there over the past year.

Gujarat/Saurashtra saw good collections on Sunday as the circuit easily went over the 1 crore mark. So overall, the film is in a decent position after four days and it remains to be seen if it can go on from here to emerge a success.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA did well on Saturday as it collected 9.50 crore nett and taking its three day total to 24 crore nett. The growth on Saturday was over 50% which is very good and gives the film a chance to work. It was crucial the film went above the first day number on Saturday and it has managed that.

The film still has a long way to go but its in a decent position after three days and with Sunday to come its going to collect around 35 crore nett over the extended weekend which is a healthy number and good in terms of business scenario today. SATYAPREM KI KATHA also made ground in Gujarat/Saurashtra on Saturday as collections in this region trended better than the national average. Though considering the film has a heavy Gujarati flavour, the collections are still on the lower side in the state.

The film is not faring well in the Eastern side of India with even a metro centre like Kolkata not doing too well. Bengaluru, which normally behaves similar to Kolkata, is much better. CI is also better but this is the case with most films of Kartik Aryan whether they do well or not.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA saw a drop in its second day which was always going to happen. But the drop was pretty reasonable which just took it down to the what the collections would have been on day one if it was not a holiday for Eid and not lower which can easily happen.

The second day collected 6.25 crore nett and that is the range the day one would have been if it was not Eid. The two day numbers of the film are 14.75 crore nett which is so so business but now on Saturday, it has a chance to break out to better numbers. The film must go at least to its first day number and ideally it should be higher for a weekend trend. The numbers will still be on the lower side but if the film can really jump well, it will have a trend and then there is time on its side with not many Hindi releasing in the near future.

Gujarat/Saurashtra, which is crucial for the film, was pretty much like the rest of the country on day  two and did not trend better. This market is crucial due to the heavy Gujrati flavour in the film. But despite the local flavour, the film has a theme like rape which maybe is not for a conservative audience like in Gujarat.

SATYAPREM KI KATHA had a fair first day as it collected in the 8.50 crore nett range thanks to the holiday for Eid. The collections needed to be higher due to the holiday but as the film has a dry subject and the opening would have been a concern in the present box office scenario, getting over 8 crore nett is a fair result.

Gujarat/Saurashtra should have done better as the film has local flavour and this area is a must if the film is to work. Gujarat/Saurashtra being at just 60-65 lakhs nett is just good enough for this film and it must be doing much better over the weekend.

The opening day of the film is the sixth highest this year and the figures below show that 10 crore nett on a normal day is the target for a regular film now and its the grander films with big budgets and urgency like PATHAAN and ADIPURUSH that are getting the higher numbers. It was pretty much similar trend last year. On fair value, KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN has got over 10 crore nett and TU JHOOTHI MAIN MAKKAAR will be around the 10 crore nett mark and nothing else has managed it.
