SATYAPREM KI KATHA had a fair first day as it collected in the 8.50 crore nett range thanks to the holiday for Eid. The collections needed to be higher due to the holiday but as the film has a dry subject and the opening would have been a concern in the present box office scenario, getting over 8 crore nett is a fair result.

Gujarat/Saurashtra should have done better as the film has local flavour and this area is a must if the film is to work. Gujarat/Saurashtra being at just 60-65 lakhs nett is just good enough for this film and it must be doing much better over the weekend.

The opening day of the film is the sixth highest this year and the figures below show that 10 crore nett on a normal day is the target for a regular film now and its the grander films with big budgets and urgency like PATHAAN and ADIPURUSH that are getting the higher numbers. It was pretty much similar trend last year. On fair value, KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN has got over 10 crore nett and TU JHOOTHI MAIN MAKKAAR will be around the 10 crore nett mark and nothing else has managed it.
