KICK 213 crore nett
CHENNAI EXPRESS 208 crore net
3 IDIOTS 202 crore nett.

Entertainment 49.50 cr in Week 1; Kick 213.23 cr in 3 weeks

Box Office India Trade Network

ENTERTAINMENT had a low first week of around 49.50 crore nett and although it remained steady and found appreciation in some circuits on the weekdays, the damage had been done with a low weekend.

The film held up well at places over the weekdays but needed to be stronger as the weekend was low and had to sustain against big competition (SINGHAM RETURNS) in week two. The film was strong on Monday but fell 20% on Tuesday and Wednesday and that is where chance of a decent lifetime total was lost.

ENTERTAINMENT has the eighth highest first week collections of the year. The film fared best in North and CI while most other circuits performed below bar with low first week collections.
-----------------------------------
KICK grossed around 10.25 crore nett in its third week taking its three week business to around 213 crore nett. The film has seen a near 80% drop in week three due to a the release of ENTERTAINMENT. Below are the weekly figures for the first three weeks

Week 1 - 1,55,71,00,000
Week 2 - 47,27,00,000
Week 3 - 10,25,00,000 approx
TOTAL - 2,13,23,00,000

KICK is the second biggest grosser of all time after DHOOM 3 beating the 208 crore nett of CHENNAI EXPRESS. DHOOM 3 is still way out in front with business of 260 crore nett. KICK will add another 3-4 crore nett to finish in between the 215-220 crore nett.

KICK is heading for business around 10 crore nett in its third week. The film grossed around 1 crore nett on its third Monday. Below are the daily figures for third week.
Friday - 1,25,00,000
Saturday - 2,00,00,000
Sunday - 3,00,00,000
Monday - 1,00,00,000
TOTAL - 7,25,00,000.

The film had better second week figures than films like CHENNAI EXPRESS and YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI but the third week will be lower than those films..

Entertainment 31 cr in 3 days; Kick crosses Chennai Express

Box Office India Trade Network
ENTERTAINMENT had a poor weekend of around 31 crore nett but the trend was decent. A film like like ENTERTAINMENT should be hitting 40 crore nett at least over the weekend but it has fell more than 20% short of that mark. The weekend collections are less than a film like HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA which is less than half the cost of ENTERTAINMENT.

The plus for the film is that it had a very good jump on Sunday (12.50 crore approx) which gives it a chance to hold steady collections over the weekdays. The problem is week two where a big drop is inevitable as it faces competition from SINGHAM RETURNS which makes a decent lifetime number very hard.

ENTERTAINMENT fared best in Delhi/UP, East Punjab and CI. Gujarat also showed a very good jump on Sunday though many circuits performed well below the mark even with growth on Sunday.
-----------------------
KICK has now become the second highest grossing film of all time as it added around 6.25 crore nett in its third weekend taking the seventeen day total to 210 crore nett nett. There was a drop of 80% in the third weekend due to the release of ENTERTAINMENT.

The other 200 crore nett plus films were 3 IIDIOTS at 202 crore nett and CHENNAI EXPRESS at 208 crore nett which have both been surpassed by KICK now. The highest grossing film of all time is DHOOM 3 which grossed 262 crore nett and KICK will not get close to this figure.

KICK is looking at a finish in the 215-220 crore nett range and will set new lifetime records in a few circuits as it crosses the business of DHOOM 3. The film is the biggest grosser of Salman Khan in every circuit in India.

Entertainment 8,90 cr on Day 1; Kick 1.25 cr on 3rd Friday

Box Office India Trade Network

ENTERTAINMENT grossed around 8.90 crore nett on its first day as it had decent opening in some circuits but business at multiplexes hit it badly almost all over. The better collections came in North and Central markets.

The re instatement of tax in Rajasthan means a 20 lakhs odd loss straight way for this type of mass film. Despite being one of the better circuits the circuit figure is just around 60 lakhs nett which is lowest for Akshay Kumar starrer in last few years outside JOKER. Released a couple of weeks back it would have been 80 lakhs nett in Rajasthan which would make it a top five opening in Rajasthan for 2014.

After Rajasthan the best collections were East Punjab and CI. The film will be relying on a big jump in multiplexes on Saturday but it may be tough as if there was to be a major turnaround it should have started on Friday evening.
-----------------------
KICK fell at the beginning of its third week as it grossed around 1.25 crore nett on its third Friday. The release of ENTERTAINMENT meant a huge loss of screen time across the country. The film looked to be going over 220 crore nett for lifetime business but will now have to settle for 215 plus lifetime total.

The business is now around 205 crore nett and it is closing in on the 208 crore nett of CHENNAI EXPRESS which is the second highest grossing film of all time. It should surpass the business of CHENNAI EXPRESS by the end of its third weekend.

The film will surpass DHOOM 3 in a couple of circuits though in Nizam/Andhra, Mysore and Tamil Nadu /Kerala the business will stay below CHENNAI EXPRESS though all India business will be higher.

Kick collects 204 cr in 2 weeks

KICK took its business to 204 crore nett in two weeks as it grossed around 48 crore nett in week two. The film did see a drop in business in the weekdays after a huge run for ten days but that is expected.

The film is on the verge of crossing the business of CHENNAI EXPRESS and will do on Saturday or latest by Sunday and thus become the second highest grossing film ever. CHENNAI EXPRESS had grossed 208 crore nett approx.

Territory wise the film will set new highs in Bihar and Orissa while Rajasthan will not be a record in terms of nett business due to entertainment tax being reinstated in state from August. But in gross terms it will be will be the biggest grosser ever in the desert state. The business in West Bengal and Mysore is also fantastic which are the usual Salman Khan under performers.

KICK continued to do steady business on its second Monday. The film has now settled with the circuits which were playing catch up post Eid doing normal business. The second Monday was around 4.75 crore nett which is just 65% less than last Monday. The four day second week business is as follows.

Friday - 8,50,00,000
Saturday - 10,00,00,000
Sunday - 13,25,00,000
Monday - 4,75,00,000
TOTAL 36,50,00,000

The film is heading for a 50 crore nett second week which will take it to around 205 crore nett plus in two weeks. It will be the third 50 crore nett plus second week in history after Dhoom 3 and 3 Idiots.

Kick box office report: Salman Khan's film enters Rs 200 crore club at BO!
Box Office India Trade Network
KICK grossed an excellent 31.75 crore nett in its second weekend taking the total business of the film to around 187 crore nett. It was the third time that a film went over 30 crore nett in the second weekend and KICK is in great company with All Time Blockbusters DHOOM 3 and 3 IDIOTS being the other two films to achieve this feat.

The film maintained strongly all over and should easily be over 200 crore nett by the end of the week. It is already the highest grosser ever for Salman Khan in just ten days.

Rajasthan could have collected 50 lakhs nett more over the weekend but entertainment tax went up from 0% to 30% in the circuit. The best collections for the film are in Gujarat and is looking set to be the first film to have a lifetime collection of 30 crore nett from Gujarat and Saurashtra. ENTERTAINMENT will release on Friday and so, third week will take a hit. But still lifetime collections look set to be in the 220-230 crore nett range depending on how much the film falls when ENTERTAINMENT releases.

KICK grossed around 9.75-10 crore nett on Saturday taking its second week business to around 18.50 crore nett in two days. The film had good growth in places like Delhi city, East Punjab and Bangalore but many places remained at similar levels to Friday.

The film will see good growth today as the places which were held back on Saturday will show big jumps. The film has almost touched the business of KRRISH 3 and YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI and by the end of the weekend it will be above these films as well as Salman Khan's own highest grosser EK THA TIGER.

The weekend is looking to be around the 32-33 crore nett range which is similar to 3 IDIOTS and only below DHOOM 3 which grossed around 36 crore nett in its second weekend.

Kick collects 8.50 cr on 2nd Friday; 163.50 cr in 8 days

Box Office India Trade Network

KICK had a huge eighth day as it grossed around 8.50 crore nett taking its eight day total to 163.50 crore nett. The eighth day was the third highest of all time after 3 IDIOTS (Holiday) and DHOOM 3. In fact only a few films this year have collected more on day one than what Kick has grossed on day eight.

The big fall cane in Rajasthan as entertainment tax came into play and the collections in the circuit fell 50% from the previous day. The film is continuing with strong business in Delhi/UP with collections of around 2 crore nett.

Gujarat is strong giving strong contribution to Mumbai circuit which was around 2.60 crore nett. The drop in Mumbai on day eight from day was only 65% as day one underperformed slightly. The film is set for a huge second weekend and should cross 200 crore nett by the end of the second week.
-------------------------
The top ten eighth day figures are as follows:

KICK grossed a huge 14 crore nett on Thursday taking its first week to an extraordinary 155 crore nett. The film has done extraordinary business in the last three days where it was hit in the first four days due to pre Eid. UP, Nizam/Andhra and Gujarat have all record huge numbers in the last three days.

The best performance of the film has come in Rajasthan and Bihar with the latter setting a new record for first week collections as it grossed 4.50 crore nett which is more than the lifetime collections of most big films. Rajasthan was around 12 crore nett. The film has been unstoppable in UP over the last two days and it was no different on Thursday as single screens remained house full for the third day in a row.

KICK has put up a number on Thursday (day 7) which hardly any films have put on Monday. In fact only 15 odd films have collected a similar or higher amount on day one.

The film is on course to be the second highest grossing film ever and may even hit the 225 crore nett mark but that will be determined by the business in week two. DHOOM 3 business is out of range as the first week collection of KICK is 10% short of the former's business.

KICK had another day where its collections went over 20 crore nett. It was the fifth time that the film went over 20 crore nett which is a record as it collected 20.50 crore nett. The business of the film in six days is nearly 141 crore nett

There are many circuits playing catch up as they missed some business pre Eid and Mumbai was fantastic as it grossed 6.50 crore nett on Wednesday just 50 lakhs nett less than the day before. Some stations even had a better collections than Monday.

There will be a drop today but the film is sure to go over 150 crore nett in week one and will be the second film to achieve this feat after DHOOM 3.

Kick collects 26 cr on Eid; 120 cr in 5 days

Salman Khan-starrer 'Kick' has also become the highest opening day grosser of the year with Rs 26.50 crore.
Box Office India Trade Network

Kick was fantastic on Eid as it collected a huge 26 crore nett with some circuits recording the highest numbers for the film on Tuesday out of the first five days. Nizam / Andhra which had collected just 55 lakhs on Monday zoomed up to 1.75 crore nett. UP which had just 1 crore nett on Monday went up to 2.75 crore nett. Both these areas were better than day one and Sunday

Gujarat was hit by rains which meant Mumbai circuit did not collect to potential but the rest of the country was excellent. The film has now gone over 120 crore nett in five days and is already the biggest grosser of year.

The film is doing extraordinary business in Rajasthan which is around 9 crore nett in five days and East Punjab which is 12.50 crore nett in five days. In Rajasthan it is heading to be the biggest nett grosser ever but entertainment tax which will be 30% from next week onwards may play spoilsport. Still it will emerge number one in terms of gross business.

Kick collects 13.75 cr on Monday; 95 cr in 4 days

Salman Khan's 'Kick' earned nearly Rs 27 crore on the opening day.
Box Office India Trade Network
KICK had a strong Monday as it grossed around 13.75 crore nett taking the four day total to nearly 95 crore nett. The drop was less than 50% on from Friday which is excellent for Pre-eid. Not to forget, some parts of the country received heavy rainfall as well.

The collections were rock steady in some circuits. East Punjab lead with collections over 1.50 crore nett. Rajasthan was a huge 1.05 crore nett. CP Berar and CI were also fantastic dropping just 30% from Friday. Nizam was weakest as that circuit dropped a bit but its a Muslim dominated circuit so will collect big for the next three days.
The Monday collections are very similar to what CHENNAI EXPRESS grossed on its first Monday last year but that was post Eid while this is pre Eid. There will be a huge jump today as it is a national holiday and remains to be seen how big it is.

Kick collects 81 cr in 3 days

Kick
Box Office India Trade Network
KICK grossed a huge 81 crore nett in its third weekend as the business on Sunday went to around 30 crore nett approx as per early estimates. The collections are simply outstanding for pre Eid as they came with some territories performing below expectations.

Nizam/Andhra and UP have been worst hit as both these sectors have under performed and these areas should see a good pick up from Tuesday onwards. East Punjab which has little Ramadan affect and Rajasthan are best. East Punjab set an all time record on Sunday as it had the highest collections ever for a single day. Rajasthan was close to record business with weekend business just 10 lakhs nett less than DHOOM 3.

Gujarat was phenomenal on Sunday showing 1 crore nett higher collections than Saturday. The film will have excellent collections on the weekdays and how big they will be depends on the jump on Tuesday. In fact, collections on Tuesday can be as high as Sunday collections or at least close to it.

Kick collects 26 cr on Saturday; 52 cr in 2 days

Box Office India Trade Network

KICK had a very strong Saturday despite being affected by pre eid in places like UP and Nizam. The film went exactly the opposite on Friday to what happened on Saturday. Friday stated huge and then some circuits slowed down but on Saturday multiplex business was super strong in evening enabling it to cover the difference in the morning shows.

The film collected a huge 26 crore nett on Saturday which is same level as Friday as Mumbai circuit managed to grow well despite Delhi/UP seeing a drop.

The film has now collected 52 crore nett in two days and is heading for a 80 crore nett plus weekend. The film is easily the biggest hit of the year till date and is almost sure to be the first blockbuster of the year.

Kick collects 26 cr on Day 1

Box Office India Trade Network
KICK had a huge opening day as it grossed around 26 crore nett. It seemed that the film would get a higher number when it opened, but eventually collections in places like UP, Maharashtra, Nizam/Andhra and Gujarat were hit by Ramadan as a chunk of the Muslim population stayed away.

The business is extraordinary for the pre Eid period. Even a 22-23 crore nett total would have been huge but the film has gone over 25 crore nett. Rajasthan gave the best performance as it went to near record levels. The areas which under performed will do better from Tuesday onwards.
KICK has recorded the fourth highest opening day ever and the second highest non holiday opening day ever. The decision to come on Friday rather than on Eid has proved correct as a 26 crore nett total is probably more than the producers expected on Pre Eid.
