KALKI 2898 AD (Hindi) had a very strong hold on its eighth day as it collected  9.25-9.50 crore nett which is a drop of less than 10% from the previous day. The film has seen steady collections over the last two days as mass centres stabilise at a level. The growth will now come on Saturday and Sunday for a very good second weekend.

The film has generally done well across the board as where there is less appreciation those centres opened well which has been the key to the success of this film. This week not having much competition has also helped as a major release would have meant the drops which came over the weekdays continuing.

The film is also doing well in South and in the home market, the film should do a 200 crore number which would be the third time this has happened after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and RRR. The rest of South is also seeing good numbers which should mean the film comfortably tops the 500 crore nett mark all India and maybe even 550 crore nett.

KALKI 2898 AD (Hindi) consolidated its second Friday hold with huge growth on Saturday as it collected around 16.75 crore nett. The jump was around 80% which is very good for a film which has such a wide release.

The mass pockets have now settled at a level after weekday drops and Sunday should get a further push though weekdays may be tougher. The film is cruising to the 200 crore nett mark and will become the highest Hindi grosser this year today as it crosses the FIGHTER numbers. The film had crossed FIGHTER in many circuits within the first seven days itself.

The difference between this film and RRR will generally be the business in UP and Gujarat but the Hindi version has scored far higher numbers in Mysore as compared to the Hindi version of KALKI 2898 AD. The film probably has the best ratio ever in the South for a Hindi version of a South film with a 10% ratio coming from Nizam/Andhra, Mysore and TNK which is pretty close to what many Hindi original films would do.

KALKI 2898 AD (Hindi) collected a very good 156.75 crore nett over its extended first week though there were drops in mass pockets post Monday. The film was pretty steady on the last day of the week as compared to the other days. The initial weekend collections in mass circuits have done the trick for the film as the drops later on matter less because collections still look good.

The comparisons for the film are RRR which did a 132 crore nett in seven days and 2.0 which collected 135 crore nett in a similar eight day extended week. The film is unlikely to do the business of RRR as mass appreciation is less but will comfortably cross the numbers of 2.0 as despite the weekday drops, the trend is still stronger than 2.0.

There is not much competition for KALKI 2898 AD this week with the postponement of AURON MEIN KAHAN DUM THA though this film should now be called AURON MEIN DUM THA with KALKI 2998 AD being the AURON. Jokes aside. KALKI 2898 AD should emerge a SUPER HIT film and the biggest HIT of 2024 till date and it is the second weekend which should confirm this. The film has also seen drops in the South but has still raked up huge numbers over the eight days with collections in the 400 crore nett range.

KALKI 2898 AD (Hindi) collected a solid 11 crore nett on  day seven for a first week total of 147 crore nett which is the highest of the year beating the 130 crore nett of FIGHTER. FIGHTER also had an eight day first week but collections were down to 5.75 crore nett on day eight and here it will be much higher.

The drops are there in the mass circuits as they opened very well but they should steady up at these levels now as the film heads into the second weekend. The big three films from the South are BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION, KGF - CHAPTER  2 and RRR. KALKI 2898 AD can maybe challenge the collections of RRR as it will have a good lead after the first week due to a longer week and generally higher collections.

The holds are not going to be as strong as RRR as that film was stronger in mass circuits and single screens while it is more about the multiplexes with KALKI 2898 AD. This should also mean a huge jump on Saturday.

KALKI 2898 AD (Hindi) had a fantastic hold on Monday as it collected 16 crore nett taking its total to 123 crore nett. The film had huge holds at the bigger centres but the fall was more at mass centres which opened better on the Thursday. The overall fall is 25% on Monday which is excellent.

The film started a bit lower in places like Mumbai and Pune and those are the best holding centres on Monday while likes of UP and Bihar which started so well are down a bit more than the national average of the Hindi versions. The biggest multiplex chain PVR Inox has dropped only 15% as bigger centres hold up strongly. The film looks like going the RRR way with the difference being bigger centres likely to be better while mass circuits will probably be less. Even here, it has happened due to the extended weekend and higher opening collections.

The first week is probably heading for a total around 160 crore nett and it could even go a little higher depending on the holds over the next few days. The film is no doubt the biggest HIT of the year so far and will prove to be a SUPER HIT film at the very least.

The 200 crore nett mark will be a cakewalk for KALKI 2898 AD in Hindi and its likely to go much higher and it will be no surprise if its the biggest grosser of 2024 in Hindi within ten days.

KALKI 2898 AD recorded the highest first Monday this year by a margin and is more than double of any film which may possibly be telling the story of the year gone by rather than how big KALKI 2898 AD is. There is no other film even close to the double digit number. This should change with films like STREE 2, SIGNHAM AGAIN and BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 to come and actually has to change with these films.

KALKI 2898 AD not only has the highest Monday collection by a distance but even the trend of the film in terms of the Monday hold is far better than all the others below except MUNJYA. In terms of the highest Monday collections ever, it will just be among the top twenty ever depending where final numbers settle.. 

SHAITAAN and FIGHTER are the next best after KALKI 2898 AD but KALKI 2898 AD would be hoping to get those numbers on the second Monday which again illustrates the gap.

KALKI 2898 AD (Hindi) had a 20% apprx drop on Tuesday which is more than the norm but there are drops in mass pockets which have continued from Monday. The film picked up 13 crore nett on Tuesday which now takes the film to 136 crore nett which is a very good total.

The weekdays of the film were expected to better going by the huge Sunday but that probably went higher as Saturday was hit by the cricket World Cup final. The film remains strong in the metros and drops are less which is also the same for the PVR Inox chain which is a high ratio of bigger multiplexes in the bigger centres. The drop here is just 15% from Monday and it was the same drop on Monday from Thursday.

The film remains on target for the 160 crore nett mark in its extended eight day week but that will be the max it will go to. RRR (Hindi) was 132 crore nett in week one but that was seven days. For comparisonc here the seven day week earnings will be around 148-149 crore nett. Despite the drop, the Hindi version is still trending the best.

KALKI 2898 AD (Hindi) ran riot on Sunday with collections of 38.50 crore nett which is a huge 50% jump from the day before. The fact that the film actually managed to go up on the second day especially with growth coming in Maharashtra meant this was always going to be possible. On Sunday, Mahrashtra has seen phenomenal growth again

The little trepidation for the film has been the futuristic angle (dystopian) as mass pockets in the home market Nizam/Andhra have not been as high as they should. So, there was always the fear that mass Hindi circuits could also face similar problems but Sunday pushes those fears out of the window as the likes of Rajasthan and CP Berar showed 80-90% growth from the previous day. No doubt, the Hindi mass circuits are different from Nizam/Andhra but generally in India, futuristic films have struggled in the past. This film will also change that theory.

The film has a 107 crore nett so far in three days and a strong hold is on the cards and this means trouble for the releases over the next few weeks as the acceptance is there across the board. The next release AURON MEIN KAHAN DUM THA will find it tough. It may actually have to move to get the release it would like as the situation today is multiplex programmers favour a strong holdover since only a few films work. Pre pandemic, when collections were better, the new release was favoured. 

The 200 crore nett mark will be a cakewalk for KALKI 2898 AD in Hindi and its likely to go much higher and it will be no surprise if its the biggest grosser in Hindi within ten days.

KALKI 2898 AD has seen an excellent second day as collections showed a jump of around 5% which took its collections to 22 crore nett. The film showed the bulk of the growth in Mumbai circuit which was a little lower than it should have been on day one while generally other circuits were around the flat mark with some being a little up and others being a little down.

The match probably paid spoil sport on day one and the film was probably making up some ground but even here, you have to have reports on side to make up this ground. Post afternoon, the film collected better as compared to day one and this has some thing to do with the cricket match. KALKI 2898 AD now seems set for run as far as its Hindi version goes and should emerge a winner.

The film has collected 43 crore nett in Hindi and it will be a comfortable 100 crore nett in four days before the crucial Monday which should hold on this trend but the question is how well it holds. The big match on Saturday may hit collections on Saturday but Sunday can be huge.

The growth in the bigger centres on day two now means urban areas also likely to be with the. The PVR INOX chain saw the best growth of around which was double the national average of the Hindi version. The bigger centres coming on is important as the film has a futuristic angle and audiences in mass circuits can find it complicated which affects collections in the long run. Overall, the film is in a very good position now and seems to have worked and Monday should confirm this.

KALKI 2898 AD had an excellent Saturday of 25.50 crore nett in Hindi which is a solid jump of 15% and it would have been more and maybe even 30-35% but post 5 PM, the collections slowed due to the match. Still, this growth is fantastic and the film is a sure shot HIT in Hindi.

The film now has a total of 68.50 crore nett in three days and it is an easy 100 crore nett extended weekend for the film. The bulk of the growth came in the North and Mumbai while the Hindi version in Mysore is also doing fantastic and that also jumped well. In time, its likely that the Hindi version in Mysore will start collecting better than Telugu version.

The advances are huge for Sunday and a big number is certain but it will be about how big the numbers is. A Monday hold is certain and again a question of how strong is the hold. The business in single screens may not be blockbuster level as yet but its far far higher than any other release this year.

KALKI 2898 AD collected a huge 141 crore nett plus in two days with 86 crore nett coming on the first day and 51 crore nett coming on the second. The drop on day two is mainly down to South which is expected as the home market of Nizam/Andhra will have a huge drop. This has steadied on the third day which is a good sign.

The performance in Nizam/Andhra seems in the SALAAR range and the other markets in South maybe a little down on SALAAR so far. But the Hindi version will ensure the film fares better than SALAAR and it remains to be seen how the Hindi version breaks out. 

The weekend business in Hindi will not be as much as Nizam/Andhra but eventually it will do far more as the gaps will get bigger and bigger. SALAAR did 125 crore nett in Nizam/Andhra and 69 crore nett in Hindi if we take the four day weekend of that as Monday was Christmas holiday. Hence, taking Fri - Mon period will be the comparison as against Thu - Sun for KALKI 2898 AD.
