KALKI 2898 AD has seen an excellent second day as collections showed a jump of around 5% which took its collections to 22 crore nett. The film showed the bulk of the growth in Mumbai circuit which was a little lower than it should have been on day one while generally other circuits were around the flat mark with some being a little up and others being a little down.

The match probably paid spoil sport on day one and the film was probably making up some ground but even here, you have to have reports on side to make up this ground. Post afternoon, the film collected better as compared to day one and this has some thing to do with the cricket match. KALKI 2898 AD now seems set for run as far as its Hindi version goes and should emerge a winner.

The film has collected 43 crore nett in Hindi and it will be a comfortable 100 crore nett in four days before the crucial Monday which should hold on this trend but the question is how well it holds. The big match on Saturday may hit collections on Saturday but Sunday can be huge.

The growth in the bigger centres on day two now means urban areas also likely to be with the. The PVR INOX chain saw the best growth of around which was double the national average of the Hindi version. The bigger centres coming on is important as the film has a futuristic angle and audiences in mass circuits can find it complicated which affects collections in the long run. Overall, the film is in a very good position now and seems to have worked and Monday should confirm this.

KALKI 2898 AD had an excellent Saturday of 25.50 crore nett in Hindi which is a solid jump of 15% and it would have been more and maybe even 30-35% but post 5 PM, the collections slowed due to the match. Still, this growth is fantastic and the film is a sure shot HIT in Hindi.

The film now has a total of 68.50 crore nett in three days and it is an easy 100 crore nett extended weekend for the film. The bulk of the growth came in the North and Mumbai while the Hindi version in Mysore is also doing fantastic and that also jumped well. In time, its likely that the Hindi version in Mysore will start collecting better than Telugu version.

The advances are huge for Sunday and a big number is certain but it will be about how big the numbers is. A Monday hold is certain and again a question of how strong is the hold. The business in single screens may not be blockbuster level as yet but its far far higher than any other release this year.

KALKI 2898 AD collected a huge 141 crore nett plus in two days with 86 crore nett coming on the first day and 51 crore nett coming on the second. The drop on day two is mainly down to South which is expected as the home market of Nizam/Andhra will have a huge drop. This has steadied on the third day which is a good sign.

The performance in Nizam/Andhra seems in the SALAAR range and the other markets in South maybe a little down on SALAAR so far. But the Hindi version will ensure the film fares better than SALAAR and it remains to be seen how the Hindi version breaks out. 

The weekend business in Hindi will not be as much as Nizam/Andhra but eventually it will do far more as the gaps will get bigger and bigger. SALAAR did 125 crore nett in Nizam/Andhra and 69 crore nett in Hindi if we take the four day weekend of that as Monday was Christmas holiday. Hence, taking Fri - Mon period will be the comparison as against Thu - Sun for KALKI 2898 AD.
