KALKI 2898 AD (Hindi) had a fantastic hold on Monday as it collected 16 crore nett taking its total to 123 crore nett. The film had huge holds at the bigger centres but the fall was more at mass centres which opened better on the Thursday. The overall fall is 25% on Monday which is excellent.

The film started a bit lower in places like Mumbai and Pune and those are the best holding centres on Monday while likes of UP and Bihar which started so well are down a bit more than the national average of the Hindi versions. The biggest multiplex chain PVR Inox has dropped only 15% as bigger centres hold up strongly. The film looks like going the RRR way with the difference being bigger centres likely to be better while mass circuits will probably be less. Even here, it has happened due to the extended weekend and higher opening collections.

The first week is probably heading for a total around 160 crore nett and it could even go a little higher depending on the holds over the next few days. The film is no doubt the biggest HIT of the year so far and will prove to be a SUPER HIT film at the very least.

The 200 crore nett mark will be a cakewalk for KALKI 2898 AD in Hindi and its likely to go much higher and it will be no surprise if its the biggest grosser of 2024 in Hindi within ten days.

KALKI 2898 AD recorded the highest first Monday this year by a margin and is more than double of any film which may possibly be telling the story of the year gone by rather than how big KALKI 2898 AD is. There is no other film even close to the double digit number. This should change with films like STREE 2, SIGNHAM AGAIN and BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 to come and actually has to change with these films.

KALKI 2898 AD not only has the highest Monday collection by a distance but even the trend of the film in terms of the Monday hold is far better than all the others below except MUNJYA. In terms of the highest Monday collections ever, it will just be among the top twenty ever depending where final numbers settle.. 

SHAITAAN and FIGHTER are the next best after KALKI 2898 AD but KALKI 2898 AD would be hoping to get those numbers on the second Monday which again illustrates the gap.

KALKI 2898 AD (Hindi) had a 20% apprx drop on Tuesday which is more than the norm but there are drops in mass pockets which have continued from Monday. The film picked up 13 crore nett on Tuesday which now takes the film to 136 crore nett which is a very good total.

The weekdays of the film were expected to better going by the huge Sunday but that probably went higher as Saturday was hit by the cricket World Cup final. The film remains strong in the metros and drops are less which is also the same for the PVR Inox chain which is a high ratio of bigger multiplexes in the bigger centres. The drop here is just 15% from Monday and it was the same drop on Monday from Thursday.

The film remains on target for the 160 crore nett mark in its extended eight day week but that will be the max it will go to. RRR (Hindi) was 132 crore nett in week one but that was seven days. For comparisonc here the seven day week earnings will be around 148-149 crore nett. Despite the drop, the Hindi version is still trending the best.
