DANGAL has finish its run in China with a little over $191 million and its Worldwide gross in all formats of the film is a little over 1975 crore. The film find a release in Hong Kong and South Korea and it may be able to some business in these Far eastern markets to take it to 2000 crore.

BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION has finished its run with around 1590 crore and it might get a Far Eastern release but its very unlikely to do well in these markets as the film is a core Indian mass film. Despite the worldwide total staying below DANGAL it is still a far bigger blockbuster than DANGAL as its INDIA distributor share far outweighs the Dangal WORLDWIDE share and it has out grossed DANGAL in every circuit where it has been released be it India or Overseas. The second weekend was almost three times higher than the first weekend and the second week could do around $50 million compared to the $27.2 million in the first week. DANGAL has gone to another level in China as it has reached $59.70 (382 crore) in ten days. China had a one child restriction policy which ended in 2015, allowing couples to have two children. The girl child taking the family name forward has connected in a big way and this film could go anywhere in China. The first weekend was $11 million apprx and the second weekend has grossed $32.50 million. It is almost three times the first weekend. The China business is GROSS and the GROSS in India (all languages) was 512 crore which will easily be exceeded in China making its China business more than India. DANGAL has taken a huge opening in China with the weekend business of $11 million apprx. It has done almost three times the business of PK in the first weekend and should easily the surpass the $20 million that PK grossed in China.

DANGAL has scored big in China on day one with collections set to be around $2.5 million on day one. A few years back PK had done huge business grossing $20 million and that film on day open had grossed under $1 million which means that DANGAL has more than doubled the business though it is reported to be a much wider release than PK. Aamir Khan has built a following in the neighbouring country and there is a market for his films there. It remains to be seen where DANGAL goes but on the initial it should beat the numbers of PK.

The only problem with the China market is that Indian producers hardly get a return even if the film is successful. The films are taken outright by Chinese companies and they release and market the films there and the monies paid are well below $1 million. The revenue in Australia with just $2m apprx will be far more for the producers even if China goes on a crazy run. Its basically a token gesture release financially but what it does is allow a star like Aamir Khan to create a fan following which may allow better deals for him films in the future.

DANGAL (Hindi) is continuing its run at the box office into its twelfth week as it make it to 84 days in Mumbai, Ahmdebad, Pune and Noida. The film has managed to collect higher than both PK and BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN in the fourth week and it will be another good week if the film can beat those films again in the fifth week. Comparing with other successful films the 35% drop on a third Monday is a trend but compared to how DANGAL has performed it is a drop. The first two weeks did not see this sort of growth on Saturday but it was always likely this week as the Friday figures were down. The business on its third Friday did not beat the record set by PK two years back but it set a new record for the second Saturday beating the 8.25 crore nett of PK and by a margin also. The third weekend is set to be an all time record as it will beat the 26.75 crore nett of PK. It could even hit the 30 crore nett mark for the third weekend depending on what happens on Sunday. The drop is over 25% from the previous day but most of this has come in Delhi/UP and East Punjab as it was a holiday there yesterday. The figures in Mumbai are hardly down 10%. The collections are the second highest ever for a third Friday behind the 6.85 crore nett of PK. The total collections of the film is 310 crore nett and today it will become the second highest grossing film ever as it crosses the 315 crore nett of BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN and then it will cross the PK total of 338 crore nett possibly by the end of the third week depending on big the Saturday and Sunday growth is. An early assessment of its lifetime business seems to be that the film heading to be around 360 crore nett. The Tamil and Telugu versons have held pretty well due to no main releases down South and the dubbed version of the film is likely to finish at around 12 crore nett.

The figures are similar to what PK had collected on day the 13th day but it was the day before New Year's Day which gave it a little lift as it was the day before a big holiday. DANGAL already has the highest second week collections of all time as it passed the 100 crore nett mark in the second week in just six days. The second week will do around 111 crore nett beating the 96 crore nett plus record of PK. Then it will be down to the third Friday and how strongly that can hold. DANGAL (Hindi) scored a huge second week as it smashed all second week records with business 110.50 crore nett in week two. The Thursday business was rock steady as it was a holiday in the North for Guru Govind Singhji Jayanti. This has taken the total for the film to 303 crore nett making it the highest NETT grosser of the year. The GROSS numbers are still behind SULTAN but will surpass today. The drop week on week is 43% which is just phenomenal in this day and age and on top at this high level collections. Its one thing dropping 30% or 40% when you are collecting 20 or 30 crore nett in week one as you are hardly consuming the audience and so the chances of holding are more. Here the film has had this sort of hold coming off a near a 200 crore nett first week. Hardly anyone is watching those films so there is a chance. The first lifetime all time record has also come for the film in East Punjab with nett business of 37 crore nett easily beating PK (33.44 cr) and BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN (32.93 crore) in just two weeks. The film has been tax free in Haryana since day five and that has helped but even in GROSS collections it is ahead with 45.75 crore while PK is 42.80 crore and BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN is 42.10 crore.

The film will set many more lifetime all time records over the weekend with some likely to be hit on the third Friday itself.

DANGAL (Hindi) had its first noticeable fall since release on Tuesday (Day 12). The film grossed around 10 crore nett taking its business to 286 crore nett in twelve days. It was the first day since release that most of the working class returned to offices in the metros after the Xmas and New Year period and that is where the drop came. Despite the drop it is still the highest collections ever for the second Tuesday beating the 9.10 crore nett of PK.
