CHHAAVA had another superb week as it collected 15 crore nett plus in week six. It is the second highest sixth week of all time after STREE 2 but that film got the advantage of National Cinema Day on the Friday. If you take that out, then there is a chance that CHHAAVA has the highest sixth week on fair value.

The collections STREE 2 in week six were 17 crore nett and the only other film before CHHAAVA and STREE 2 with a double digit sixth week is URI. The drop again was only 50% but now the flow of releases will begin with SIKANDAR set to release on Sunday. CHHAAVA will still collect well on Friday and Saturday but then collections will be hit hard.

It will not mean its the end for the film as it will still get collections in circuits which have centres from Maharashtra but the rest will have very minimal collections. CHHAAVA looks like closing at 265 crore nett in Mumbai, 75 crore nett in Delhi/UP and around 25 crore nett in Delhi/UP. CP Berar, Nizam/Andhra and South will all score more than East Punjab showing the impact of the film in Maharashtra and South.

CHHAAVA collected 3.50 crore nett on its sixth Saturday which is solid growth of around 80% from the Friday. There was the start of the IPL tournament but it did not affect the film much. However, there are two matches on Sunday which could be mean a different story for the film.

The collections of the film now go to 535 crore nett and the week is probably looking at a drop in the 50% range and that is coming off Holi week which again means fantastic trending for the film. It may not be the highest sixth week ever but that will be because STREE 2 had National Cinema Day benefit on its sixth Friday.

The target is probably to cross the 550 crore nett mark and it will be probably be dependent on what sort of collections the film gets post Eid.

CHHAAVA had a record fifth week as it collected over 30.50 crore nett plus. The film smashed the records of STREE 2, PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and URI. This is the first time that the 30 crore nett barrier has been crossed in week five. The only film to over 20 crore nett before this was STREE 2 and then there are only another four films to go over 10 crore nett.

The only three original Hindi films to get over 10 crore nett in week five are URI, STREE 2 and now CHHAAVA which puts this 30 crore nett into perspective. Basically two films are of Vicky Kaushal and two of Maddock Films. The three others to get over 10 crore nett are South dubbed films (BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION, PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and KGF - CHAPTER 2).

The drop in week five is also very limited with collections going down 25% only. This would be down to Holi which pushed the collections of higher over the weekend. The film has now collected 530 crore nett in five weeks and is heading for a 550 crore nett finish assuming the collections today are pretty much similar to Thursday. The film should continue to do well till the release of SIKANDAR and even after that, it can still get some collections

The Telugu version did well in week one with 12 crore nett but fell in second week with only 2.50 crore nett for a two week total of 14.50 crore nett. It had a shot of 20 crore nett after 4-5 days but collections came down thereafter.

CHHAAVA recorded extraordinary numbers on its Friday as it picked up almost 2 crore nett showing a minimal drop from the previous day. It is the biggest sixth Friday ever if we discount STREE 2 which had National Cinema Day on its sixth Friday. This now takes CHHAAVA to around over 532 crore nett and and its heading towards that 550 crore nett plus mark.

The industry, which has been pretty much dead, for the last few weeks should perk up a little as trailers of films like JAAT and SIKANDAR come this weekend. There has been no release of note since CHHAAVA which is in its sixth week but the next few weeks will see SIKANDAR, JAAT and KESARI CHAPTER 2 hit screens. Hopefully something will be liked as today only being liked can get you somewhere at the box office.

CHHAAVA collected 2.25 crore nett on its fifth Monday which takes the fifth week total to 24 crore nett which is a new high for the fifth week record beating the 22 crore nett plus of STREE 2. There is a drop as to how the film was performing but it was a huge weekend for Holi. Hence, a drop was expected at some point. Nevertheless, it can hold well through the week from here.

The fifth week is likely to be around the 30 crore nett mark which is a benchmark that has never been reached and the drop in fifth week will be hardly 30% which is a super strong trend. The total collections of the film so far are almost 524 crore and by the end of the week, the film would be standing at around 530 crore nett.

CHHAAVA did record business over Holi weekend which was the fifth weekend for the film. The film comfortably collected over the 20 crore nett and has almost reached the fifth week record over the weekend itself. STREE 2 had collected 22 crore nett in week five and here the numbers are just a little than that in the weekend at 21.50 crore nett. The film crossed the fifth week number of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE which was 18 crore nett.

CHHAAVA has now collected 521.50 crore nett in total after 31 days and is heading towards a 550 crore nett finish. The film got benefit of Holi over the weekend with Friday being the biggest beneficiary. The Holi factor remained over the weekend but it got lesser day by day. Sunday was flat because of this reason. There will be parts in UP and MP which may even get a little boost on Monday.

The business in Mumbai circuit is now pretty certain to be the highest ever even though Gujarat will not even do half the business of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. Maharashtra is simply out of this world as it smashes all records by huge distances. The best circuit outside the ones which have stations from  Maharashtra is Mysore.

CHHAAVA got the benefit of Holi as it showed a big jump in business collecting around 6.50 crore nett. The collections were almost double of the previous day and it remained the top collecting film for the fifth Friday. This status quo is likely to remain for another couple of more Friday's. The total of the film is now almost 507 crore nett.

The fifth Friday is a record and history is pretty much certain in the fifth week as records come for the weekend and the week. STREE 2 holds these records and with the aid of Holi, CHHAAVA should comfortably beat these records. The film is heavily being driven by Mumbai circuit where breaking the crazy PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE record is a possibility for CHHAAVA.

The business is lesser in the North and East and here a film like THE DIPLOMAT has managed to compete though its only likely for the Friday as CHHAAVA will move ahead over the weekend in these circuits as well. The film will be third highest grossing film by the end of the weekend.

CHHAAVA is going into Holi with rock steady collections as the numbers hold up extremely well over the weekdays of week four. The film has seen similar collections in the Mon-Wed period and has taken the film to almost 36 crore nett in week four four, with one day to go, and to a 496 crore nett lifetime total.

The film is looking at a 50% apprx drop in week four but week five should see a stronger hold. The film will be flirting with 500 crore nett by the end of the week and the lifetime still has a shot at 550 crore nett. A lot will depend on business over this weekend and there is a chance it will not show much of a drop from last weekend due to Holi and there is no match to hit business in the coming week too.

The Telugu version has seen drops over the weekdays and stands at 11.50 crore nett in six days and is looking at a 12.25 crore nett first week. The second week will determine the lifetime business. Irrespective to where it ends, its a good number as the dubbed version has come weeks later than the original version. No doubt it would have been a better number if it a got a dubbed release on the same day as the original film.

CHHAAVA continues to dominate the box office as there was another dull new release with THE DIPLOMAT. There will be hardly any collections on Holi morning anyway but admits were 20-30% of CHHAAVA in the morning. The collections should get better later on but will be nothing like a film needs on Holi day.

The film has been released with hardly any promotion which is not actually important if you have the elements as music and trailer does the job. But this seems a thriller zone film without any of the commercial elements. Hence, it probably needs some push for awareness.

CHHAAVA continues to do excellent business as it records a 39 crore nett plus fourth week which takes the total of the film to almost 500 crore nett. The drop in the fourth week is 50% and collections should hold better this week as Holi pushes the numbers. The fourth week figure is a record for an original Hindi film and only behind PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. The film can target the highest fifth weekend and fifth week in history due to the Holi period.

CHHAAVA is heading for 700 crore plus gross total worldwide as the overseas number hits $10 million which is huge considering the heavy Maratha touch in the film. But it has been seen that when a film scores big in India, the numbers comes in overseas and its not like twenty years back that a film could be a blockbuster in India but have limited business in Overseas.

The overseas business is dominated by US/Canada which will cross the $5.5 million mark and will be more than films like SOORYAVANSHI and TIGER 3. Australia is probably next best as it looks for A$1.65 million close. Gulf is the underperformer as will probably close around $1.3 million but that was expected as its a heavy Muslim dominated the market. United Kingdom is a surprise as it will get near the £1 million mark and its business will be very similar to Gulf despite generally being a lesser market today. 

CHHAAVA should eventually close above the 725 crore mark overseas making it fifth highest grossing original Hindi film worldwide after JAWAN, PATHAAN, ANIMAL and STREE 2.

CHHAAVA recorded an extraordinary third week of 81 crore nett taking sit three week to nearly 462 crore nett. The drop in the third week is 52% which is much higher than the extraordinary 18% drop in the second week. Still, its a very strong trend for the film. It has still managed to put up the second highest third week ever after PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE's third week was in the Christmas period which inflated its collections and here CHHAAVA had the cricket matches to deal with on a couple of occasions in the third week which hit collections. So, in real terms, the third week collections are actually comparable to PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and it can compete again in the fourth week.

The film is likely to be hit on Sunday with big cricket match but still it is on for a huge fourth week which is certain to be bigger than everything apart from maybe PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. The film continues to rack up the numbers in Mumbai circuit and its likely that Mumbai will finish almost five times higher than Delhi/UP.  The business in Delhi/UP will probably be at best as much as KALKI 2898 AD which had an all India number below 300 crore nett which shows the push given by Maharashtra for CHHAAVA.

CHHAAVA continued it superb run on its fourth Friday as collections were better than the previous day and again its heading for huge growth on Saturday though there will be a stumbling block on Sunday with the cricket match. The film collected in the 5.50 crore nett range on the fourth Friday which takes the film to 467 crore nett.

The film opened in Telugu also and collected very well with around 2.25 crore nett which is the fourth best collection in the circuits for a dubbed Hindi film after ANIMAL, BRAHMASTRA and JAWAN. Those films had a simultaneous release with the Hindi version and here its three weeks late. CHHAAVA in Hindi has surprisingly been doing extremely well in Hyderabad despite it being known as a heavy Muslim dominated area as far as business for Hindi films go. The three Khans are probably the biggest Hindi stars ever in this pocket for this reason.

CHHAAVA has some elements which may be seen as anti Muslim and as a result, the collections in Hyderabad were surprising. But they were also supportive of a Telugu version as its likely to be a non Muslim crowd heavily supporting the film. There is not much happening in Nizam/Andhra as far as local releases go and this should support a good run for CHHAAVA in Telugu.

The film also has no competition in Hindi circuits which saw many re releases and none could make a mark. The best of the lost was SHAADI MEIN ZAROOR AANA but shockingly there was a crapfest like LOOTERA (2013) also getting a re release. Only god knows who they expect to turn up to watch such bores in the theatres umpteen years after original release.

CHHAAVA has chances to hit the 500 crore nett mark by the end of week though its more likely that it will be hit in the fifth weekend as the Sunday collections could be hit.

CHHAAVA showed crazy growth on its fourth Saturday as the film more than doubled to collect 12 crore nett. This smashes through the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE record which was 9 crore nett on its fourth Saturday. PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE had more muted growth on Saturday though Sunday was strong. The collections of CHHAAVA are now 479 crore nett till date.

There is a huge match on Sunday with India playing New Zealand and this could be the reason for this crazy jump and will probably mean Sunday not showing the normal trend. The fourth weekend record of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is 27 crore nett and in two days CHHAAVA has done 17.50 crore nett. Hemce, it needs 10 crore nett on the Sunday to set a new record.

The film is also doing extremely well in Telugu as the dubbed version collections jumped almost 30% on Saturday. The first day final collections were 2.60 crore nett while the Saturday has done a total of 3.30 crore nett which takes the film to almost 6 crore nett. The film has shot at becoming the highest original Hindi film dubbed into Telugu after ANIMAL and the film needs to reach 25 crore nett for this.

CHHAAVA collected a fantastic 24 crore nett in its fourth weekend even though Sunday was hit hard by the cricket match. Still Saturday probably compensated for this somewhat which means the film got pretty close to the normal weekend than it would have got. The film probably lost around 2-3 core nett due to the cricket.

Despite this hit on Sunday, the trend of the film remains strong and is probably heading for a 50-55% drop week on week which is similar to week three. The total of the film now stands at 485 crore nett and it should hit the 500 crore nett mark around Holi. The film also had a Telugu release on Friday which has scored very well with collections of around 8.50 crore nett over the first three days. Friday was 2.60 crore, Saturday was 3.30 crore nett and Sunday was around the 2.50 crore nett mark.

The film is continuing to run riot in Maharashtra as it targets a 250 crore nett total in the state alone. The Mumbai circuit total will be pretty much similar as well. To say its a record grosser in Maharashtra is putting it lightly as nothing in recent times comes close. The film is going to do 60-70 crore more than PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in Maharashtra. In history, the biggest film ever in Maharashtra is probably HUM AAPKE HAIN KOUN and obviously footfalls will not go to that level in the state but what that film did in its time, this film has achieved similar in todays time. HUM AAPKE HAIN KOUN was way way bigger than anything seen in Maharashtra at that time and this is pretty much the same.

CHHAAVA collected 3.75 crore nett on its fourth Monday dropping 30% from the Friday which is a good hold. The film has now collected 28 crore nett in its fourth week. STREE 2 holds the record for the highest fourth week for an original Hindi film at 31.50 crore nett and that will be done in a day or two.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has the highest fourth if we count all films but that was at 50 crore nett and that will record will hold. The fourth week of CHHAAVA should do around 37-38 crore nett. The total collections of the film are now 488 crore nett and it should be at 500 crore nett on Holi which is Friday. Also Holi should mean another good week as weekend numbers will be pushed by the festival.

The film had a decent hold in Telugu with collections of 1.30 crore nett which takes the film to almost 10 crore nett. Friday was 2.60 crore, Saturday was 3.30 crore nett and Sunday was 2.50 crore nett. CHHAAVA is the leading film in Nizam/Andhra due to no local releases and it remains to be seen what numbers it puts up over Holi weekend.

CHHAAVA collected a record 58 crore nett plus on its third weekend as it comfortably scored over the third weekend numbers of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE which were around 51 crore nett. The bigger task will be the third week record as the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE had the Christmas factor over the weekdays. The Allu Arjun-starrer managed a huge 92 crore nett in week three. So, CHHAAVA needs to add another 35 crore nett to get the record which will be tough.

The film managed to go up on Sunday despite the cricket match but last week was India vs Pak and that probably makes the difference. This weekend, the growth was less on Saturday and it basically equals up. The film now stands at 439 crore nett as it beats the numbers of KGF - CHAPTER 2 and becomes the eight grosser in Hindi language.

This weekend ensures a 500 crore nett number for the film and now its probably about which position the film stands among the top three though footfalls will not reach the level of GADAR 2. Its looking at 525-550 crore nett at the moment but the film has all of March to rack up the numbers and the Ramadan period should not affect this film much.

CHHAAVA saw its first noticeable drop on its third Monday as it dropped around 45% from the Friday. This is pretty normal but its looks a drop for this film considering how well its been maintaining till date. The film collected 7.25 crore nett on its third Monday which takes the number of the film to 446 crore nett in eighteen days.

The third week is now probably targeting a number of 82-83 crore nett which will be enough to keep the film on track for a 500 crore nett number sometime around Holi. But the drop probably means that the STREE 2 and JAWAN totals are safe and the film will end as up as the third highest nett grosser ever.

This film is on the verge of becoming the highest grossing film ever in the state of Maharashtra and that should be done by the end of the week. It is the second film after PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE to collect 200 crore nett in the state. The Mumbai circuit which includes Gujarat is unlikely to reach the levels of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE mainly as because the business in Gujarat is far less.

CHHAAVA had another drop in business on Tuesday after the the first drop came on Monday. The film collected 5 crore nett on its third Tuesday which now takes the film to 451 crore nett. The third week stands at 70.50 crore nett and its likely to end up at 80 crore nett which is still the easily the highest ever for an original Hindi film.

The film will probably now stabilize at these lower levels and go on a run from here till Eid. It puts the numbers of STREE 2 and JAWAN out of reach but even after the collections on Monday, that was looking very unlikely. The lifetime business of the film looks to be finishing in the 500-525 crore nett range.

CHHAAVA collected 22 crore nett on its third Saturday which was day sixteen and it was the highest collections ever for for the third Saturday easily beating the records of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE which was around 18 crore nett on the second Saturday. The growth for CHHAAVA was not as big as last Saturday but still its up a huge 70%.

This now takes the film to 415 crore nett which takes it to ninth spot in the all time list and sixth spot if we count only original Hindi films. The numbers of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE are out of reach but it is a danger to every other film. The assessment of the film at the moment would be a 525-550 crore nett finish but the film has March to itself so higher numbers are not out of the question.

There will be the Holi period as well where the film is going to hold up very strongly so it is not totally out of the question that it challenges the 550 crore nett plus films like JAWAN and STREE 2. Although at the moment, the trend does not suggest the film having a chance to be the highest collecting original Hindi film. It will be about Holi weekend to change this as it should aim to hold collections at a similar level to the previous weekend.

CHHAAVA is looking to break all records in week three which may culminate in the highest third week collections of all time. The film collected 12.75-13 crore nett on its third Friday which is an all time record and it beat the records of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE by a distance. BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION was 10.10 crore nett while PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE was 10.35 crore nett.

CHHAAVA has beaten these records by a margin and more than, the film is rock steady as it had a similar number to Thursday. The film is certain to beat the weekend records of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE as the growth on Saturday is insane again. The week could be tougher as PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE had the advantage of Christmas over the weekdays. But the lead over PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE over the weekend will be huge looking at the potential Saturday number. Not only Friday but the Saturday trend also looks stronger.

The India vs New Zealand cricket match on Sunday could be a dampener for the collections but it should recover post the weekend like it did last week. The match hits peak collections on the Sunday with lower collections from 2 pm onwards. The plus is that this could be the reason why the film is getting huge growth on the Saturday. CHHAAVA stands at 380 crore nett till date and should cross the 400 crore nett mark today.

There is a holiday for Maha Shivratri on Wednesday which helped evening shows to be better and the film managed to go up by around 5%. There were places which showed more growth but on the side, certain places went down as well.

The second week so far stands at over 136 crore nett and it will be the holiday on Wednesday which will determine where the week ends. It will be over 170 crore nett but the question is by how much. PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE holds the record at 178 crore nett and to reach that, it will need a big jump on Wednesday.

The film continues its juggernaut run in Mumbai, CP Berar and Nizam/Andhra but other circuits are also faring better as the ratio of Mumbai circuit is less in the second week as compared to the first week. The film looks to be heading for a 500 crore nett plus total but it will need the third Friday to be in double digits to stay on course for that. It will also be interesting how close it can to get to PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in Mumbai circuit in the final run.

CHHAAVA collected a huge 23 crore nett on its second Wednesday which again is the highest collection ever seen on the second Wednesday driven by the holiday for Mahashivratri. The collections in all practically all the mass pockets were better than the second Friday while the bigger centers were a bit less. Overall the collections were in the same range as the second Friday.

The second week now stands at almost 160 crore nett which already makes it the highest second week of all time after PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE easily beating the numbers of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and STREE 2. There will be a drop in Thursday but still the week should go over 170 crore nett. The drop week on week is looking under 20% which is just unimaginable for a film which collected over 200 crore nett in the first week. Even a BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION did not hold as well in week two.

The overall total of the film stands at 355 crore nett and if we go by the second week trend, the film will cruise well past the 500 crore nett mark but that trend is unlikely to be repeated as it is a rarity for a film collecting at the level. The drop in the third week will determine where the lifetime business of the film will go. The coming week also does not see much competition. Hence, the Friday hold should be good compared to the Thursday.

CHHAAVA had the second highest second week of all time after PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE but if we count original Hindi films only, then its easily the highest with the previous best being STREE 2 at 141 crore nett. Here CHHAAVA has collected 172 crore nett which is more than 30 crore nett higher than STREE 2 which is an insane result.

The only other original Hindi films to cross 100 crore nett in week two are GADAR 2, ANIMAL, JAWAN, DANGAL and THE KASHMIR FILES. If we add STREE 2 and CHHAAVA, it makes it only seven films to go above 100 crore nett. The difference here is that CHHAAVA has gone well over 150 crore nett. The drop in the second week is just 16% which is simply unbelievable for a film collecting 200 crore nett in the first week.

The film was very heavy in Maharashtra in week one and that remains the case in week two but its not as heavy as week one as other circuits showed better ratios in week two. The total collection of the film is at 368 crore nett and its probably heading for a finish at around 500 crore nett. However, this week is important as it needs to get at least 80 crore nett and the job will probably be done as there is the Holi period in March which is sure to give it a good week.

CHHAAVA continues its remarkable run as it collected around 16 crore nett on its second Monday which is a 30% drop from the Friday which saw near record level collections. The hold is phenomenal though not as strong as PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE which had a stronger hold and collected 20 crore nett. The drop for that film came on Tuesday in the second week.

The situation is likely to be different with CHHAAVA as there is a holiday on Wednesday which is going to hold up collections better over the next two days. The film has a total of 323 crore nett on the board so far. It could be looking at 375 crore nett total at the end of the week depending on the jump in business on Wednesday and the drop thereafter.

The highest second week ever is PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE at 178 crore nett and that maybe out of reach of the film unless the jump on Wednesday is at an extraordinary level. Still even if it does not reach the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE level, it will be beating every other film in terms of the second week business which includes all the other original Hindi films to reach 500 crore nett as well as BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION.

CHHAAVA recorded an extraordinary second weekend with collections over 100 crore nett at 102 crore nett. PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has the highest second weekend ever at 114 crore nett and it fell short of that. At the same time, it has beaten every other film as no other film has got over 100 crore nett in the second weekend. STREE 2 has 93 crore nett and GADAR 2 has 89 crore nett.

The film built huge momentum on Saturday with the highest Saturday ever seen in history but it may well have been because of the match on Sunday that collections and growth was so huge on Saturday. Some of that Sunday audience would have come on Saturday and this meant a drop in business on Sunday. Its likely that if the match was not there, then Saturday would not be so high but Sunday would have seen some solid growth for sure.

The film has crossed the 300 crore nett mark on Sunday and now stands at a huge 307 crore nett and now it remains to be seen where the film stands over the weekdays. The 500 crore nett is far but its an open field and if it keeps on this trajectory, it is certain to get there and actually go much higher but its pretty much unthinkable that the film will hold in third week like it has in the second week. CHHAAVA set a record for the highest second Saturday of all time as it edged past the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE number for its second Saturday. It becomes the second film to cross the 40 crore nett mark on its second Saturday. The collections were a huge 41.50 crore nett and now it remains to be seen if the unthinkable can happen and if it can collect 50 crore nett on its second Sunday. This has never happened before in history of Hindi cinema.

The overall total of the film stands at 270 crore nett apprx; this means it has crossed the numbers of TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR which was another film where business was dominated by Mumbai circuit and more specifically Maharashtra. The second of weekend CHHAAVA has seen better ratios in other parts of the country.

On Friday, the business was pretty flat in Maharashtra while the growth was coming from other circuits especially North India. There is a political support for the film from the ruling party which was helping collections in Maharashtra but now this has spread into other areas. CHHAAVA recorded a phenomenal second Friday as collections went to 23 crore nett which was a solid jump from the previous day. The advances were pretty much insane for the weekend even before the weekend started which means it is certain for huge growth on Saturday and Sunday. The film continues its record breaking run in Maharashtra and other circuits also made good gains on the second Friday. In fact, the jump was more in other places compared to Maharashtra.

The film is finding political support from the ruling party with major players including the Prime Minister supporting the film; as seen before, it does push the awareness of the film and finds a audience which may not have watched otherwise. CHHAAVA continues its outstanding run at the box office as it collected a huge 24.50 crore nett on Tuesday which is day five for the film. There is a holiday in Maharashtra for Shivaji Jayanti which boosted the film on Tuesday and will do so again on Wednesday. The period is proving very beneficial for the film as it has over 50% of its collections coming from just the state of Maharashtra.

The growth mainly came from Maharashtra as others were pretty much similar to the day before with some a little down and others a little up. The total collections of the film are now 155 crore nett and its looking for a 200 crore nett first week depending on the growth today and the hold post the holiday.

The film is going to emerge a BLOCKBUSTER but Thursday and Friday are crucial for the film as its the level of business on these two days which can really push the film to a huge final box office number. There is a big holiday next week with Maha Shivratri and then in March, you get into the Holi period. Even then, CHHAAVA will be leading the box office race. The film really has an opportunity to rack up a huge box office number with an open run in front of it.

The collections are lower in some circuits and the Thursday and Friday will tell at what level its stands in Maharashtra. At the moment, it looks like it can compete with PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in Maharashtra as collections are simply phenomenal. CHHAAVA had a phenomenal first Wednesday as it collected 30 crore nett apprx which is around 20% up on the previous day and this puts its total on 184 crore nett. The collections were boosted by the partial holiday on Wednesday and moreover, its seeing a superb hold after the holiday today which ensures a huge run for the film.

The 200 crore nett week is easily done and dusted for the film and the second week is also going to be putting up huge numbers for sure depending on the level of business on the second Friday. The 200 crore nett mark in Mumbai circuit actually looked a dream for most of the films coming out of the Hindi film industry but this film may actually do that due to the extraordinary business in Maharashtra. It will be due to the huge local appeal but eventually, the numbers are coming.

The film is a a much needed BLOCKBUSTER and the 400 crore nett mark seems a realistic possibility for the film now though it is dependent on the level of second weekend business and then the open run will pile up the numbers over the next few weeks. CHHAAVA recorded a fantastic first week of 205 crore nett driven by record breaking collections in the state of Maharashtra. The film was has also done very well in other pockets but it is Maharashtra which is at another level as it beats the record breaking numbers of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. The film joins a list of around 13-14 films which have done 200 crore nett in the first week.

The holds of the film are outstanding as Thursday finished with a collections of over 20 crore nett and Mumbai circuit remained comfortably over the 10 crore nett mark. The numbers of the film are also extremely strong in CP Berar and Nizam/Andhra. The surprise is the latter as its not just Marathawada putting up big numbers as the Hyderabad area is also strong.

The collections of the film are lesser in the North and East but are still good and well ahead of TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR which was another film doing similar ratios with a heavy concentration in Maharashtra. CHHAAVA is sure to have a superb hold on its second Friday and will be up there among the top second Fridays of all time. This will lead to a huge second week number.

CHHAAVA grossed a huge 293 crore worldwide as it picked up a very good $5.25 million overseas in the first week with a very good numbers in US/Canada which will end the week with around $3 million. The surprise is United Kingdom as a market like this is going to £400k plus and the scope here is less with it being a Muslim dominated market.

The Gulf area is less as it collects $750k in the first week. The worldwide numbers of the film over week one are a little higher than PADMAAVAT; that was a film which had a lot for overseas with the presence of Deepika Padukone and the Sanjay Leela Bhansali factor. PADMAAVAT finished with a worldwide gross of 545 crore and that is possibility for CHHAAVA even though overseas is nothing like PADMAAVAT.

The 500 crore mark worldwide mark looks pretty much assured for the film on its present trend today. It will make it the 17th Hindi film to cross the 500 crore mark worldwide and that includes 3 dubbed films from the South.

CHHAAVA saw an extraordinary hold on Monday as it collected 23 crore nett which is down just 20% from the Friday and that Friday was Valentines Day which could itself have been a bit higher than it should have been. Hence, the hold could actually be better than it looks The four day business of the film now stands at a huge 130 crore nett and the next two days are certain to record fantastic collections as both days will go above the Monday number.

CHHAAVA is simply outstanding in Mumbai, CP Berar and Nizam/Andhra as these areas not only see super strong holds but collections at very high levels. In certain places in Maharashtra it is surpassing PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. Pune leads the charge with the highest collections ever seen in history till date which enables a chain like City Pride to do likewise. Rajasthan, CI and Mysore have also seen excellent holds on Monday though the level of collection here is less than the likes of Mumbai.

The Northern and Eastern markets are weaker and this was always likely but this is comparative with other circuits. If we look standalone and take the western area out of the equation, then these numbers are also good and the holds are also encouraging though nothing like the stronger performing circuits. It is not out of the question that the film picks up a phenomenal 200 crore nett in the week depending on how high the next two days go and then to what level it falls to on Thursday.

The film is looking to emerge a huge BLOCKBUSTER though it will be the numbers post the holiday period which will have to confirm this. The film has come as a bit of life saver for the Hindi film industry as it looked like dire straits with no winner for months before CHHAAVA and no major release for weeks after.

CHHAAVA had a superb first weekend with outstanding collections on Sunday. The film collected a huge 44 crore nett on Sunday and had a fantastic weekend of 106 crore nett. The film set records in Maharashtra as it recorded the highest collections ever seen in the state with Pune and Thane leading the way with insane occupancy. A Maharashtra dominated chain like MovieMax saw the highest day in its history on Sunday as beat PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE's number for Sunday.

CHHAAVA also crossed the 20 crore nett mark in Mumbai circuit on Sunday which made it the first outright Hindi film to hit this mark with the only other film being able to do this was PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE. The business in Mumbai circuit was around 54 crore nett in 3 days which is 51% of the all India ratio. This is very similar to the ratio of TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR.

The business of the film is also fantastic in the South with both Nizam/Andhra and Mysore doing well. In Nizam/Andhra, its just not Marathawada putting up the numbers as Nizam has done extremely well. The has picked up well in the North and Central markets and numbers in these areas were very good on Sunday. The Eastern markets are the weakest and could have done better but that was the case with TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR as well.

The Sunday jump for the film ensures a huge run for the film as collections are sure to be huge for the next three days and the lower level collections will be post the holiday, on Thursday. The last HIT film from the Hindi film industry was BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 in November and its basically been a dry period since then. If this had not worked, the period would have extended even further as there are no major release for the next 5-6 weeks.
