Social media serves as a great tool to connect with a wider audience, but it also exposes an actor to negativity and judgments. Soundarya Sharma experienced it first-hand after a mouth freshener commercial featuring her alongside three Bollywood superstars dropped. Being a dentist, she faced criticism for being a part of it from a section of the audience.

Addressing the issue, she says, “The brand approached me for their mouth freshener commercial. I cannot think of endorsing anything that can harm a larger audience. Besides, no one can be forced to consume anything harmful. Nevertheless, in life, sometimes your choices are based on future aspirations. Yes, I am a dentist, but I’m also an actor. At times, my choices as an actor may differ from my personal opinions.”

Calling it a dream come true to share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar, the actress adds, “I hadn’t envisioned something like that coming my way, so I was thrilled to be offered such an opportunity. Am I foolish not to accept an offer to share the screen with three superstars of the country and boost my career?”

Like her career choices, Soundarya, who made headlines for her brief relationship with Gautam Singh Vig during her stint in the Bigg Boss house that ended in a fallout, is clear about decisions on the personal front as well. While Gautam tried to reach out to her, she didn’t want to rekindle the affair.

She says, “I don’t want to talk about something that’s a thing of the past. It holds no relevance in my life. I acknowledged it back then, but now, I don’t feel anything and have moved on. Since then, I have not been in touch with him.”
