Ridhi Dogra considers her recent outing, Jawan, a “huge blessing” and calls working with actor Shah Rukh Khan a “dream come true”. Playing the role of Kaveri amma, an elderly person who acts as Khan’s guardian, the actor says, “I learnt so much from Shah Rukh. He doesn’t take his position for granted.”
However, the 39-year-old reveals that during the entire shoot, she was racked by anxiety. “Every time I was on the set, my days were anxiety-driven. When you’re not the primary character, you don’t know what the output will be. You don’t want to make stupid choices and [can only] hope that whatever you signed up for, comes true,” she explains.
The Lakadbaggha actor tells us that she was “never scared to approach” director Atlee. “He was well aware that I had a lot of anxiety. I shared it with him and was always met with a lot of comfort.”
Dogra doesn’t regret her decision to play an older person, as she wanted to take on “challenging roles”. She adds, “I’ve seen a lot of labels being put on actresses. Early on, I had made a decision to challenge myself and bend the norms in my own small way. And the first step was to take up such roles.”
