Actors Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu yesterday wrapped up the Kashmir leg of the shoot for their upcoming film, Dunki.
A source close to the film’s unit says, “SRK shot near the Thajiwas glacier located at an altitude of 10,000 ft above the sea level, where the set had been established.”
Upon arrival on Monday, Khan was directly flown to a tourist resort in Sonamarg amid tight security arrangements. With this, the Pathaan actor visited Kashmir after a gap of 11 years. He was last there to shoot for late filmmaker Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012).
Joined by his co-star Pannu for the Rajkumar Hirani directorial, the two were seen romancing in the meadows of Sonamarg. “They shot for a love song with choreographer Ganesh Acharya. They also shot in Pampore and Srinagar,” confirms a crew member, adding that the team shot under three-tier security cover in the militancy-hit valley.
“No unnecessary movement of the locals was allowed close to the area falling within the film set. We didn’t want the shoot to be disrupted in any case as back in 2012 when he was shooting for JTHJ in Pahalgam, we came across the huge rush of fans on the sets which halted our shoot and then we had to block the road leading to our set. This time, we [wanted to] ensure that things go smoothly,” adds the crew member.
A hut, with Turkish ambience, was set up near Thajiwas glacier, where both the actors were scheduled to shoot.
