TU JHOOTHI MAIN MAKKAAR did fair business over its extended five day weekend of 60 crore nett apprx with the plus being the weekend trend which bought the collections back to Holi holiday levels. The film should have done more but for a film which has nothing much for the mass markets you take these sort of numbers.

They are not good for the film point of view of the cast and budget but its also pretty certain this film would have done much better pre pandemic and it was green lighted before the pandemic but this is the case for most films releasing today. Also nobody would spend this sort of money on the genre today as box office potential is limited.

The film did not push on Sunday but that was always likely as there is no mass appreciation and basically the film is now dependent on around four cities - Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. These places could hold reasonably well from Monday onward but the story outside is not likely to be that good.

The film got a huge thumbs up from the trade in Mumbai so the weekend has been about matching the box office to their reviews. But this never works and you get caught out and above all the industry within knows what is real and what is fake. But sadly it happens repeatedly and has been happening for years.
