PATHAAN crossed the 300 crore nett mark in week one as it collected 315 crore nett and just smashed records of all films released. The main one is KGF - CHAPTER 2 which is a recent release while others are generally old releases.
The final circuit numbers are yet to come but it looks like PATHAAN has beaten KGF - CHAPTER 2 (Hindi) in most of the circuits and that is more important than the all India number as KGF had a limited release down South due to its original format and dubbed into other languages being the main format of the film there.
PATHAANhas averaged 45 crore nett a day over its first week. This was pretty much unthinkable before release even with the advances. The numbers are there going by the market and the potential is even higher but its not about the market as eventually a film has to achieve the numbers and it becomes about the content and PATHAAN obviously had that.
Hopefully, PATHAAN is the turning point for the Hindi film industry as more action commercial mass films will be made which are original and with more of a North Indian presentation rather than South Indian.
The top ten first weeks of all time are as follows.
1. Pathaan - 3,15,00,00,000
2. KGF - Chapter 2 - 2,50,51,00,000
