BACHCHHAN PAANDEY showed a big drop on Monday as collections dropped 70% plus from Friday. This was pretty much expected as Gujarat/Saurashtra had dropped big on Saturday itself and it was the extended Holi period in parts of the country. The collections of the film were in the 3.50 crore nett range.

The film has not been accepted but even then it could have got way with it if had the Holi weekend to itself. These sort of films for mass circuits need that opening weekend as they are front loaded. Here the weekend did not come due to the competition and so the writing was on the wall. Bihar had a good Monday with collections similar to SOORYAVANSHI but that circuit is playing catch up and will eventually fall into line by the end of the week. 

The first week collections will probably be around 47 crore nett and there will not be much coming after as it will be replaced by RRR at most places while THE KASHMIR FILES retains screens well due to good occupancy.
