Between 2020 and 2021, despite the lockdowns and life slowing down overall, Taapsee Pannu did not lose pace. The actress went hopping from one film set to another, which explains how she had multiple releases last year, and has a laundry list fort his year, too, with films like Dobaaraa, Shabaash Mithu, Blurrr and Wo Ladki Hai Kahan.

Bring this up and Taapsee says, “I brought in the new year very happily, because 2021 was over. Last year was a big battle in many ways and I survived it. It was a mentally and physically challenging year and I escaped unhurt. This year should be relatively easier for me, at least easier than what the last few years have been. I have planned 2022 in a way that I work at a relaxed pace. I have things spaced out in such a way that I won’t be running from one film to another. Of course, the Coronavirus pandemic looks far from over. If another lockdown happens and things are forcibly moved around, it will crunch the spaces I have created for myself between my projects. And that’s a different story altogether.”

While Taapsee continues to take on assignments for the year, she is also actively planning her next set of productions. She says, “I hadn’t really planned to enter film production with a movie featuring me as the central character. It happened, but the next few films in the offing won’t feature me; I’m not playing the central character in my next productions. That is really the idea of becoming a producer, where I back a story that has my conviction and an actor who fits the part. I don’t want to be the leading lady of every film that I produce.”
