With Mumbai going through a phase-wise unlock, Jasmin Bhasin believes that it’s a good shift from the sedentary lifestyle we had been leading and says that it’s a rather good call taken by the government to open up the economy in the state of Maharashtra. “Unlocking Mumbai was necessary now that the (Coronavirus) cases have reduced. People would want to go out of their homes because lockdown has taken a toll on them,” she shares.

She iterates that human beings are social animals and the lockdown led to intense boredom. She says, “We need to interact with others to keep ourselves in the right state of mind. We also need to feel the air and the vibe of the city. While at home, we restricted ourselves to technology.”

Bhasin, who has been a popular face on television, feels that it’s “a positive sign” that the television industry that heavily bled due to the pandemic has hit the ground the running now. “The industry is following the norms as given by the government. It provides entertainment and employment. The TV industry believes that the show must go on and so do I,” she says.

She heaves a sigh of relief knowing that the production houses are “leaving no stone unturned to provide a safe environment”. “The makers are taking all the precautions because if anyone gets Covid, it will put the whole show at risk. As a result, the story will have to be changed and that will affect the TRPs,” she ends.
