As someone who is secure in his talent and being, Emraan Hashmi says he enjoys working with actors, especially the established names.

Talking about his working relationship with John Abraham, he says while he’d at first met the actor socially, he didn’t know him well until they worked together in Mumbai Saga. “It is heartening to work with someone like John, who is a gem of a person, a professional... He doesn’t get into the politics of things. He likes to switch off when his job is done. We connected well as we don’t roam around with the baggage of our fame and the work we have done,” says Hashmi.

The actor is also awaiting the release of Chehre, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, that got postponed due to the rising cases of Coronavirus. Admitting that he had a fanboy moment during their first meeting, Hashmi gushes, “I’d get those first-day jitters of meeting your hero, someone you idolise. But he puts you at ease and is so giving as an actor. I respect him as an actor because even after so many years, he still has the fire and the drive.”

While he has done two-hero films, he has not yet acted with the Khan trio — Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh. He says, “I worked with SRK, who produced the web show, Bard of Blood, and I’ve met Salman and Aamir on occasions as well. They have stood the test of time and have been through high and lows and yet kept moving forward… It is a tough industry, and to be on that level and keep things going and constantly fuelling that fire is an inspiration for me. Their body of work has impacted me as an artist on a subconscious level.”
