Amidst the pandemic, while cinema halls were struggling to receive better footfalls, there were some filmmakers who took the risk of releasing their movies in theatres, and there were others who were ready to roll out their projects too. One such film was Chehre starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi. The film, directed by Rumy Jafry, was set to release on April 9. However, with the recent announcement of theatres being shut till April 30, due to rising Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, this film, along with a few others, has pushed its release date.

Talking about it, Rumi says, “We have made a good film, so it is necessary to be a little patient. Having said that, it is going to be the producer’s call about when to release the film, but yes, we, including Mr Bachchan, decided ki film release hogi toh theatre mein hi hogi. It will definitely have a theatrical release.” When asked if they have come up with another date for the release, the filmmaker says, “Well, not yet. It’s too early to say anything.”
