The Coronavirus pandemic that has called for social distancing has given singer Neha Kakkar the opportunity to spend quality time with her family. But she admits that she misses eating outside. Looking at the brighter side of things, she says, “Industries coming to a halt has led to a decline in air pollution all across the world. Water bodies are cleaner. I hope that after the pandemic ends, we will become more mindful of the environment.”
One thing that has been bothering her is the speed at which fake information about the health crisis is spreading. “My mother is in her 50s and my father is in his 60s. When they hear rumours, they tend to panic. The forwards that we get on WhatsApp are not always true,” Kakkar shares.
She says that the lockdown is taking a toll on people’s mental health but the best way to deal with it is to accept the reality. “Humans can do anything if we decide to do it. It’s all in our head. If you panic, you’ll feel claustrophobic. But if you look at it positively and decide to enjoy this phase by being safe and staying indoors, then you’ll be able to sail through it smoothly,” Kakkar says, adding, “Be with loved ones, learn new things, and sleep well. It’s also a good time for artistes to come up with creative concepts.”
