TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR had a a very good first week of 116 crore nett and saw fantastic holds over the weekdays. The weekend business was good but it really took of over the weekdays with the help of the holiday period.

The crucial Thursday when most of the holiday period is over held up very collecting over 11 crore nett. This is the highest collection ever for an Ajay Devgn film for a Thursday. The film has a chance of going anywhere the way it has held over the weekdays and even 200 crore nett cant be ruled out if Mumbai circuit keeps at this pace.

The film could challenge the likes of DANGAL and SANJU in Mumbai and if it does fall short, it is still likely to beat the numbers of SULTAN and BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN. The film has not done well everywhere as a lot of circuits do have low numbers like West Bengal is hardly 3.50 crore nett and East Punjab is below 7 crore nett. Delhi/UP is just 18 crore nett and this is when Mumbai has easily crossed 50 crore nett

The target for the film is probably to cross the numbers of BAJIRAO MASTANI as that film was also a Mumbai BLOCKBUSTER while other circuits did less. TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR is also a very similar film to BAJIRAO MASTANI.

TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR had a fantastic hold on day eight with collections of 9.50 crore nett which takes its eight day total to 125.50 crore nett. The film could become the highest Ajay Devgn NETT grosser ever which is GOLMAAL AGAIN at the moment with 205 crore nett plus.

A lot will depend on how well the film hold in Maharashtra over the next couple of weeks. The film is a BLOCKBUSTER in this state with around 5 crore of 9.50 crore coming from this state on the second Friday. On the trend you would expect it to cruise past the the GOLMAAL AGAIN number but as its so lopsided, its hard to tell as a drop in Maharashtra will make a huge difference to the film.

The film will be chasing the numbers of MISSION MANGAL, BHARAT, GOOD NEWWZ and HOUSEFULL 4 from last year and should emerge a SUPER HIT film which is a good start to the year with a big HIT with practically the first release of the year.

TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR saw huge growth on saturday of around 60% as it collected 15.50 crore nett which takes it business to 141 crore nett in nine days. This Satuday growth means it is cruising to the 200 crore nett mark and the biggest NETT grosser of Ajay Devgn.

The film continues its insane run in Maharashtra and is going to be the second highest grossing film in the state after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and will also beat the local Marathi film SAIRAT. The film is creating history in Mumbai circuit and is also heading to be the highest NETT grosser ever in the circuit after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and this is despite Gujarat/Saurashtra not being huge.

Its a totally different story in the North and East where in Delhi/UP, East Punjab and West Bengal it will not even be in the top 50 films of all time. Its unlikely there has been such a lopsided major Hindi grosser in history where the verdicts in different circuits range from ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER (Mumbai) to FLOP (West Bengal).
