TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR had a a very good first week of 116 crore nett and saw fantastic holds over the weekdays. The weekend business was good but it really took of over the weekdays with the help of the holiday period.

The crucial Thursday when most of the holiday period is over held up very collecting over 11 crore nett. This is the highest collection ever for an Ajay Devgn film for a Thursday. The film has a chance of going anywhere the way it has held over the weekdays and even 200 crore nett cant be ruled out if Mumbai circuit keeps at this pace.

The film could challenge the likes of DANGAL and SANJU in Mumbai and if it does fall short, it is still likely to beat the numbers of SULTAN and BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN. The film has not done well everywhere as a lot of circuits do have low numbers like West Bengal is hardly 3.50 crore nett and East Punjab is below 7 crore nett. Delhi/UP is just 18 crore nett and this is when Mumbai has easily crossed 50 crore nett

The target for the film is probably to cross the numbers of BAJIRAO MASTANI as that film was also a Mumbai BLOCKBUSTER while other circuits did less. TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR is also a very similar film to BAJIRAO MASTANI.

TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR had a fantastic hold on day eight with collections of 9.50 crore nett which takes its eight day total to 125.50 crore nett. The film could become the highest Ajay Devgn NETT grosser ever which is GOLMAAL AGAIN at the moment with 205 crore nett plus.

A lot will depend on how well the film hold in Maharashtra over the next couple of weeks. The film is a BLOCKBUSTER in this state with around 5 crore of 9.50 crore coming from this state on the second Friday. On the trend you would expect it to cruise past the the GOLMAAL AGAIN number but as its so lopsided, its hard to tell as a drop in Maharashtra will make a huge difference to the film.

The film will be chasing the numbers of MISSION MANGAL, BHARAT, GOOD NEWWZ and HOUSEFULL 4 from last year and should emerge a SUPER HIT film which is a good start to the year with a big HIT with practically the first release of the year.

TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR saw huge growth on saturday of around 60% as it collected 15.50 crore nett which takes it business to 141 crore nett in nine days. This Satuday growth means it is cruising to the 200 crore nett mark and the biggest NETT grosser of Ajay Devgn.

The film continues its insane run in Maharashtra and is going to be the second highest grossing film in the state after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and will also beat the local Marathi film SAIRAT. The film is creating history in Mumbai circuit and is also heading to be the highest NETT grosser ever in the circuit after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and this is despite Gujarat/Saurashtra not being huge.

Its a totally different story in the North and East where in Delhi/UP, East Punjab and West Bengal it will not even be in the top 50 films of all time. Its unlikely there has been such a lopsided major Hindi grosser in history where the verdicts in different circuits range from ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER (Mumbai) to FLOP (West Bengal).

TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR was excellent on Tuesday due to the partial holiday and it collected 15.25 crore nett. There was a huge jump in Gujarat/Saurashtra and solid jumps in Rajasthan and CI but the Delhi and Punjab jump was not as good as it should have been as Lohri tends to see better jumps in these two areas.

The film is a BLOCKBUSTER in Maharashtra and may well be in Gujarat also depending on the next few days. It is also fantastic in CP Berar and Nizam/Andhra but it still remains to be seen how the rest go in the long run. The film seems very much on the lines of BAJIRAO MASTANI, the difference being that film had a prolonged holiday period of Xmas and New Year. The final scenario here could be that TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR manages to do better than BAJIRAO MASTANI in Mumbai, CP Berar and Nizam/Andhra but the rest of the country remains.

The collections so far are 88.50 crore nett and it remains to be seen how it goes today as some parts again will have a partial holiday.

TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR recorded excellent Monday collections of 13.50 crore nett. The film has even gone up from day one in places like Gujarat/Saurashtra where there is growth of around 25-30%. This has meant that the Mumbai circuit number is more or less the same as day one which is crazy as it was a good start in Mumbai.

The collections have come on normal weekday rates. So the actual footfalls will be like the 16-18 crore nett Monday of other films as most films to score a big Monday have had either blockbuster weekend rates or the weekday rates have been enhanced. The film is sure to hold very strongly over the next two days. North India should show a jump in collections today though the ratio of business coming from the North is less.

The first week business of the film is pretty much sure to cross the 100 crore nett mark and could even be above 105 crore nett. But a lot depends on how the film fares on the next two days which have minor holidays and where it lands on Thursday.

TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR had a good first weekend as it collected around 60 crore nett and more importantly it was a strong trend over the weekend with very strong growth on Saturday and Sunday. The film is easily best in Maharashtra but other key areas like North and Central India have come on over the weekend.

The performance if the film is very similar to BAJIRAO MASTANI a few years back in the sense that Maharashtra is strong from day one and other areas are coming on board slowly. The difference will be that BAJIRAO MASTANI had that Xmas and New Year period for areas outside Maharashtra to slowly get the numbers which is not the case here. So here the film could do similar or even beat that film in Maharashtra but other areas will be harder.

There are minor holidays over the weekdays which will ensure that the film holds up well. It will be Thursday and Friday when the real level of the film will be known. The weekend business of the film is pretty similar to TOTAL DHAMAAL.

TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR had good numbers on Saturday and excellent growth of 35-40% to collect 19.5-20 crore nett which takes its total to over 34 crore nett in two days. The film showed growth of over 50% at the bigger multiplexes but the growth was less in mass areas of Maharashtra which formed a huge chuck of its business on day one.

The growth is very good outside Maharashtra with circuits like Delhi/UP, East Punjab and West Bengal all going up around 60-70%. Its very rare to see a wide release like this grow so much on a Saturday. But as the first day was so low in these parts and the film is better than the first day figures, it has shown a strong turnaround.

This should ensure a solid weekend as Sunday should also show good growth as the singles screens in places like UP, Bihar and Rajasthan are yet to get going. Its only Maharashtra single screens where the the film has seen good collections. Sunday should see mass centres of Hindi belt come on board for huge growth in places like Rajasthan and UP.
