Shahid Kapoor, who is riding high on the success of Kabir Singh, and getting ready to kick off the Hindi remake of the South film Jersey, in which he plays a 36-year-old cricketer who wants to be picked for Team India, has set tongues wagging with a recent visit to the office of Vishal Bhardwaj. The actor-director duo has collaborated on three occasions—Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014) and Rangoon (2017). And on Wednesday, instead of playing the usual game of hide-and-seek, the two were happy to pose and smile for the paparazzi.
Shahid and Vishal, who share a great personal equation and professional relationship, have always been vocal about their keenness to work together again. A source told Mirror that they have been discussing a subject and a fourth film could be on the cards.
During the release of Haider, Vishal had raved about his lead actor saying, “I cast Shahid in Haider not because he was Pankaj’s (Kapur) son but because I needed a young actor and he’s the best in his age group. I’d done away with Othello’s last monologue because I felt it was too stagey but I have retained Hamlet’s. And listening to Shahid rattle off a sixpage monologue in the climatic scene where Haider turns mad, I was reminded of Pankaj’s body language and Naseeruddin Shah’s voice.”
