While Vidya Balan is all set to play the mathematics wizard Shakuntala Devi in Anu Menon’s upcoming biopic, the makers have found an actor to play the ‘human computer’s on-screen husband. According to our source, Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta, has signed on the dotted line.
The insider states, “Jisshu will play Shakuntala’s husband Paritosh Banerji. Since he originally hailed from Kolkata, the makers found the actor perfect to play the role. His character is one of the most integral parts in the narrative.” Paritosh, who was an IAS officer from Kolkata, and Shakuntala were married in the mid-1960s when Devi returned to India from London. They separated in 1979.
The actor will soon kick-start filming. This is not the first time that Paa actress and the Manikarnika - The Queen Of Jhansi actor are sharing the screen space. They were earlier seen in NTR Kathanayakudu, where Jisshu had a cameo.
We called up Jisshu and dropped him a text, but there was no response till the time of going to press.
