The actor-duo has come together for a period film that is set to roll in Rajasthan in the first week of February

Saif Ali Khan and R Madhavan, who had featured alongside Dia Mirza in Gautham Menon’s romantic-drama Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein in 2001, are re-uniting after 17 years for an Aanand L Rai production with Navdeep Singh as the director. The film is a historical and takes off in Rajasthan, followed by shooting schedules in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.

A source from the film reveals, “The shoot kicks off in Rajasthan, where the story is set, in the first week of February. Since it’s a period film, Saif and Madhavan will be training in sword-fighting and horse-riding. They will require a lot of prosthetics and the team has been working on their look for a long time. Last week, there was a final look test in Mumbai and the film is ready to roll now.”

Buzz is, Zoya Hussain, who was introduced in Mukkabaaz, has been signed on as the female lead. Deepak Dobriyal is also a part of the cast.

Navdeep was earlier supposed to direct Kaneda, a gangster drama for Anushka Sharma’s production house featuring the actress, Arjun Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh. But the filmmaker reportedly opted out of the project to concentrate on this film.
