SRK, Alia, Kat, Sidharth share the limelight with chief guest at Ambani bash

Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, who is in India on a six-day visit, seemed to be over the moon in the company of Bollywood stars at Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s party in his honour. He referred to Katrina Kaif as a “British Bollywood superstar”, Amitabh Bachchan as “Godfather” and hailed Shah Rukh Khan as “the legendary actor” in the caption of a selfie.

The bash (with a guest list put together by politician Milind Deora, his wife Pooja Shetty and Karan Johar, along with the hosts) saw Ayan Mukerji, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif arrive together with friend Aarti Shetty close on their heels.

While Sidharth Malhotra touched base with ex-girlfriend Alia, his off-screen chemistry with co-star Jacqueline Fernandez was hard to miss. Farah Khan arrived and exited early, meeting author Amish Tripathi on her way out. Mayor Khan made sure to invite every filmmaker in the room to shoot in London, while Alia, who recently celebrated her sister Shaheen’s birthday in the Queen’s City, admitted that it was her “most favourite holiday destination”.

Amitabh Bachchan and daughter Shweta, who were escorted by the hosts on thir way out, joined Arun Poorie for a chat. Also present at the do were designer Sandeep Khosla, Karisma Kapoor, filmmaker Kabir Khan with wife Mini Mathur and Sophie Choudry.

Shah Rukh Khan pointed the shutterbugs in the direction of the “the real cool dude”, Anant Ambani.

Meanwhile, movies were not the only talking point at the bash. The Mayor caught up with Sachin Tendulkar and his wife, Anjali, discussing the future of London as a sporting capital of the world and how the cricketing legend can contribute to said plans.
