Yash goes short crop for Toxic, confirms hairstylist

Actor Yash recently turned heads at the Mumbai airport with a dramatic new look. When he arrived in the city to attend businesspersons Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding festivities on July 13, the 38-year-old had done away with his long and rugged, iconic KGF hairstyle. He embraced a striking new avatar, which sparked speculation among fans that it might be for the film Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-ups. Now, celebrity hairstylist Alex Vijaykanth exclusively tells us the look is indeed for the upcoming movie.
Sharing his excitement about the reception the actor’s brand new avatar received online, the 45-year-old tells us, “We hadn’t even reached our hotel when the first pictures started circulating online. Within minutes, the internet exploded, and his look became a hot topic across social media. The reaction was overwhelming in the best way.”
Dishing out details, Vijaykanth reveals the current look was “inspired by the script itself.” He elaborates, “When I heard the script, I knew a shorter hairstyle would be perfect for the role. This look can be described as a stylish pompadour with a unique twist, tailored specifically for the role Yash is playing in the movie.”
Revealing how the actor reacted to the new look, Vijaykanth says, “He hugged me and said, ‘Alex, yes, you did it!’”
But was Yash okay about letting go of his iconic appearance? The hairstylist, who was also part of the team that created it, admits, “He had maintained that look for nearly five years, so he had his reservations. [But] after multiple meetings to finalize the look, the day finally arrived when Yash said, ‘Yes, Alex, let’s do it’. Now I’m eager to see how fans react to what the film unfolds.”

The paediatric nurse, who went viral after she posted snaps with Anant Ambani from his wedding, reveals how she manages the star kids— from Taimur to Klin Kaara

You have seen her accompanying actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s sons, Taimur and Jehangir (Jeh) since they were babies, and even Klin Kaara — actor Ram Charan and businesswoman Upasana Konidela’s daughter. And now, Lalita Dsilva, who is not a nanny but a paediatric nurse, has become a talking point on the internet after she posted pictures with the newlywed businessperson Anant Ambani from his wedding.
“People recognise me now after the photos went viral,” says Dsilva, who has been in the profession for 30 years. She began her job of looking after the medical well-being of babies with the Ambanis. “Not just Anant; I also took care of Isha and Akash. It was an unbelievable feeling to be attending his (Anant) wedding,” she gushes. A mother of a 35-year-old son, Dsilva adds she worked with the Ambanis for 11 years.
“They invited me to Isha and Akash’s wedding too, but I was travelling with Taimur then. This time Ram Charan sir and Upasana ji helped me stay back and attend Anant’s wedding,” says the nurse, who has worked with just two film stars’ families; the rest have been business families.
In her sixties now, Dsilva has become a globetrotter as she accompanies celebs on their outings, including international holidays to Italy, Thailand as well as film shoots. She had travelled with Kareena to look after Jeh when the actor shot for Laal Singh Chadha (2022).
Speaking of the Khan family, Dsilva calls Kareena “an amazing, disciplined mother” and Saif a “hands-on” dad. One can’t forget the hysteria following Taimur’s birth, which an otherwise calm Dsilva found quite stressful.
“There was pressure from the public and media. I would tell people, ‘Yeh bachcha hai, don’t chase him; why are you behaving like this?’ I had no experience stopping them from clicking pictures, but I managed. I was concerned about Taimur’s safety,” she concludes.

After pop star Justin Bieber rocking businesspersons Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant’s sangeet, there’s a lot of anticipation around the performances at their wedding. International singers Adele, Drake and Lana Del Rey will reportedly have power-packed acts at the celebration that will be held from July 12 to 14.
Now, we have exclusively learnt that a few Indian musicians would also have an important role to play at the do. A source tells us that musicians Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan, Shreya Ghoshal and Kaushiki Chakraborty will be performing live at the wedding.
The source adds, “There are some devotional songs and shlokas that will be performed by these musicians, including Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murari by Sonu. There has been extensive prep and rehearsals, as the shlokas are in Sanskrit. All the songs have been composed by Ajay-Atul (music director duo).”

Fans of the Khans – Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman – may soon have a huge reason to rejoice. During an Instagram Live interaction with his fans on his birthday (March 14), Aamir revealed that the trio discussed the possibility of a collaboration, when they met at Jamnagar, recently.
At Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s recently held pre-wedding festivities in Jamnagar, the three Khans came together on stage and grooved to the RRR song Naatu Naatu – a video of which went viral.
The video also had the trio performing the hook steps of their own hits. Aamir Khan during an Insta Live interaction on Thursday, “Mujhe bhi lagta hai ki hum teeno ko ek film karni chahiye. Hum log jab saath mein thay — Shah Rukh, Salman, aur main — hum log baat bhi kar rahe thay ki apne careers mein hum teeno ko koshish karni chahiye ki hum ek film saath mein kare. Hamare liye bhi aur audiences ke liye bhi. Yeh thought hum logon ko aaya. Ab dekhte hain kya hota hai. Achhi kahani aayegi toh hum log zaroor karenge. All three of us are very keen to work with each other. It’s been quite a while now. Ab humko karna chahiye. Waqt aa gaya hai."

On the occasion of Mahashivratri today, the actor says his unwavering faith in the deity has helped him get through the toughest of times

Akshay Kumar shares an intimate connection with Shiva, one that has only grown deeper over the years. The actor, who recently starred in and lent his voice to the devotional song, Shambhu, can’t help but feel emotional when he speaks to us on Mahashivratri today.
“The connection I have with Shiva has strengthened further since I lost my mother. He calms my soul and makes me feel that with loss, there’s always a new life,” says the actor, who played Shiva’s messenger in the 2023 film OMG 2.
He tells us, “The film came to me at the right time. Through it, I got comfort and strength when I didn’t even know I needed it. Now, I wake up and listen to his songs during my workout every day. I feel his strength and resilience. I trust the next chapter of my life because I know the author is going to be Shiva.”
In fact, not many know that the 56-year-old has started signing off his messages and posts with ‘Jai Mahakal’. Ask what drove him to do that, and Kumar shares, “I picked it up in Mahadev Ki Nagri, Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh), which I visited for the shoot of OMG 2. Everybody was greeting each other with ‘Jai Mahakal, Har Har Mahadev’, and no greeting ever went unanswered. After all, Mahadev is everything, and eventually everything unites with him.”
The actor, who is looking forward to the release of his next big film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, hopes to witness the grandeur of Mahashivratri celebrations some day. “I haven’t had the chance to do that yet, but I’d love to. I did visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain last year to ring in my birthday, and got to witness the Bhasma Aarti. The whole atmosphere was soul-stirring. I’ll never forget it.”

The actor’s super energetic performance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar, Gujarat, left everyone in awe. “It happened at around 3 in the morning!” says Kumar, a known early bird, adding, “It was grand, of course. The Ambani family was so loving and caring. They left no stone unturned to make everyone feel included. Anant and Radhika were very gracious hosts. May Mahakal bless the happy couple.”

Actor Ram Charan’s makeup artist, Zeba Hassan Zaidi took to Insta to slam actor Shah Rukh Khan for “disrespecting” the RRR (2022) actor at Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant Ambani and businesswoman Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
As the three Khans — SRK, Salman and Aamir — performed Naatu Naatu from RRR, the Bollywood actor looked for Charan to join them. “Where are you, Ram Charan? “Idli vada Ram charan kahan hai tu?” he asked. Referring to this incident, Zaidi wrote, “I walked out after this. So disrespectful towards a star like Ram Charan.”
The internet wasn’t pleased either. One user tweeted, “Shah Rukh Khan is being racist to South Indians after a South Indian director gave him the biggest hit of his career.”

The world has been witnessing the grandeur of industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son Anant Ambani and beau, businesswoman Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities that concluded on Monday. From actor Shah Rukh Khan to tech mogul-philanthropist Bill Gates — the three-day-long festivities saw global icons make their way to Jamnagar, Gujarat. Amid the stellar lineup of international and national performers such as Rihanna and Akon, singer Udit Narayan Jha also got to regale the audience with his hit numbers.
“I performed on Sunday; it was a 20-minute performance. Pritam Chakraborty ji (music composer) ne coordinate kiya hum musicians ke saath. There were many others apart from me,” Jha tells us after the gig.
Gushing about the scale of the gathering, the 68-year-old shares, “Itne bade log thhe, mahaul toh achha hoga hi. [I’m glad] mujhe bhi pehli baar yeh opportunity mili. Maine suna hai Anant Ambani ji bahut pyaar karte hain humse.”
The singer performed five of his most iconic songs for the occasion. “Pehla Nasha (Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, 1992), Main Yahaan Hoon (Veer-Zaara, 2004), Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava (Gadar 2, 2023), Chand Chhupa Baadal Mein (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, 1999) and Jaadu Teri Nazar (Darr, 1993). Her first-ever performance in India, and her first concert in eight years, was absolutely Diamonds-worthy. Rihanna set the stage on fire as she took to the stage for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
Belting out chart toppers Wild Things, and Only Girl (In the World), among others, the Barbadian singer ensured that she ate and left no crumbs. Spotted enjoying her performance in the star-studded crowd were actors Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan, who shook a leg in a video doing the rounds. Janhvi Kapoor in fact got the international icon to shake a leg on Zingaat from her film Dhadak (2018).
The best part of the evening was, however, reserved by the Lift Me Up and Born Again singer for the paparazzi and police forces at the airport as she departed after her performance.
She stepped out of her car and graciously addressed the paps, “I love India, the show was the best. I haven’t done a Ro show in eight year, I wanna be back.”
She also obliged them with selfies and pictures with a couple of them — even asking her security to back off! Later, the 36-year-old hugged a police personnel, and posed with all of them.

Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, who is in India on a six-day visit,
seemed to be over the moon in the company of Bollywood stars at Mukesh
and Nita Ambani’s party in his honour. He referred to Katrina Kaif as a
“British Bollywood superstar”, Amitabh Bachchan as “Godfather” and
hailed Shah Rukh Khan as “the legendary actor” in the caption of a
selfie.
The bash (with a guest list put together by politician Milind Deora,
his wife Pooja Shetty and Karan Johar, along with the hosts) saw Ayan
Mukerji, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif arrive together with friend Aarti
Shetty close on their heels.
While Sidharth Malhotra touched base with ex-girlfriend Alia, his off-screen chemistry with co-star Jacqueline Fernandez was hard to miss. Farah Khan arrived and exited early, meeting author Amish Tripathi on her way out. Mayor Khan made sure to invite every filmmaker in the room to shoot in London, while Alia, who recently celebrated her sister Shaheen’s birthday in the Queen’s City, admitted that it was her “most favourite holiday destination”.

Meanwhile, movies were not the only talking point at the bash. The Mayor caught up with Sachin Tendulkar and his wife, Anjali, discussing the future of London as a sporting capital of the world and how the cricketing legend can contribute to said plans.
