Alia Bhatt, along with co-star Vicky Kaushal, director Meghna Gulzar and the crew of their upcoming film, the spy thriller Raazi, is in the Valley for the film's second schedule.

They recently dropped by one of Srinagar's old est and most popular restaurants at Raj Baugh for a taste of the traditional Kashmiri wazwan (a multi course meal served typically at weddings and other ceremonies).

The actress ordered the nadru yakhni, a lotus root in yogurt preparation, and phirni. “The unit also relished the authentic preparations of rista (meatballs in a fiery-red gravy), mut ton kebabs and rogan josh (tender lamb cooked with Kashmiri spices),“ a source told Mirror.

The Junglee Pictures production, featuring Vicky as an army officer, is based on former Indian Navy lieutenant com mander Harinder Sikka's bestselling novel, Calling Sehmat. It is inspired by the real-life story of a Kashmiri girl and is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The summer 2018 release features Alia has a young mother and a Kashmiri girl has been cast as her daughter. After shooting in the dense Doodhpathri woods last week, Raazi is currently camped at Pahalgam. “While there has been a steady stream of inquisitive locals from surrounding areas for a glimpse of Alia, some groups chanted pro-freedom slogans near the location. Immediate action was taken by security personnel. Line producer Khawar, who is a local, calmed down the protestors, too,“ the source added.
