Here’s why the Jagga Jasoos trailer won’t be attached to Dangal releasing next week?

It looks like troubles for Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos are not yet over. Just when the film, after a lot of delay, was finally being readied for an April 7, 2017 release, the producers’ plans of attaching the Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer’s first trailer to the big Christmas release — Aamir Khan’s Dangal — has been stalled by the Censor Board.
Says a source, “Dangal has been granted a ‘U’ certificate and is therefore open to viewers of all ages, whereas the trailer of Jagga Jasoos has been given a ‘UA’ certificate, which means it can only be viewed by children accompanied by adults. As per the law, a ‘UA’ trailer cannot be attached to a ‘U’ film.”
The perplexed producers of Jagga Jasoos now have one option left. They will have to submit another trailer which may be eligible for a ‘U’ certificate and may be passed by the CBFC in time for the Dangal release. The second option is to appeal against the CBFC certification of the trailer. The decision on this may take time and the producers may miss the opportunity of attaching their trailer to Dangal.” Last month, the trailer of Sanjay Gupta-Rakesh Roshan’s Kaabil was modified and re-presented to the CBFC after it was found ineligible for a ‘UA’ certificate so that it could be attached to Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
