Ram Gopal Varma seems to be
in his element as he makes a comeback with Veerappan, a dark gritty
reality of the most dangerous killer to nab whom it took Indian
government about 20 years. The maverick filmmaker, who is known to show
reality through his cinema, has incorporated a scene in which the police
learns about Veerappan's plan to abduct Rajinikanth to gain global
popularity. A source reveals that this claim of RGV had stirred a
controversy in Chennai where Rajinikanth is worshipped. So much so that
when the director and his actors went to the Tamil Nadu capital for
their movie promotions, the media there got into a heated argument about
the same. Our source further adds that the scenes in the movie explain
why Asia's most wanted criminal wanted to abduct Rajinikanth. This has
increased people's curiosity about the film that's made after extensive
research by the filmmaker and they're intrigued to know what really went
behind the encounter of Veerappan, who himself killed 97 policemen.
Veerappan, produced by Viiking Media & Entertainment, releases May 27.
