Piku’s success has benefitted Irrfan Khan’s upcoming
project Madari, directed by Nishikant Kamat is a socio-political drama
reportedly based on Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Chief Minister
Arvind Kejriwal. The makers of the film, are trying to get an early
release window to release their film sooner.
“Madari was scheduled for a September-end-release, but now there’s a push for an earlier date — June already has a lot of big films, so it will most probably be sometime next week. They want to make the most of Irrfan’s winning streak. Irrfan is being kept in the loop and agrees with the decision,” our source reveals.
Khan plays Kejriwal in Madari. The film has been shot all over India across Delhi, Rajasthan, Dehradun, Shimla and Mumbai.
Modi biopic delayed
While the film based on the Delhi CM is being preponed, the one on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that has been in the works for a while now and starring Paresh Rawal, has been indefinitely postponed, we have learned. The reason for this seems to be that several changes have to be incorporated in the script post Modi becoming the PM (the film’s genesis began during his tenure as Gujarat CM).
