After much speculation, the principal cast for the Ram Lakhan remake has been locked, say sources. The project, directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Karan Johar, has Alia Bhatt, Fawad Khan and Sidharth Malhotra signed on to play leading roles, confirm our reliable sources.

“Recently, it was announced that Fawad, Alia and Sid had been roped in by Karan for Shakun Batra’s next — a multi-starrer titled Kapoor & Sons. However, KJo seems so impressed with the trio that he has decided to cast them together again,” said a source.

“Alia and Sid are not paired together romantically. The young actress will reprise Madhuri Dixit’s role while Sid will play Jackie Shroff. Fawad will play Anil Kapoor’s role and will be wooing Alia in the film,” our source reveals.
