Playing the quintessential
effervescent Delhi girl in her upcom ing film Dilliwaali Zaalim
Girlfriend wasn't tough for actress Ira Dubey, who has spent a good
share of her academic life in the Capital. She says, “My character Nimmi
is pliant yet gutsy. I tried to make her as relatable as I
could. She knows how to stand up for herself
when wronged. The best part about the experience was associating with
talented actors like Divyendu (Sharma), Pradhuman Singh and the
inimitable Jackie Da (Jackie Shroff). Our director Japinder Kaur made
sure that each character is fresh and the narrative has a contemporary
Delhi setting. “Japinder adds about Ira, “We needed somebody who
looked intelligent and I felt she has the aura of a strong woman. Her
beauty is just a bonus.“
The film that is produced by Manjeet Kaur and Tarnpreet Singh, also has Prachi Mishra playing the lead. The movie's music is on T-Series and is distributed by Waves Cinema. The movie is slated for release on March 20.
