Remakes, official or unofficial, have become an
integral part of Bollywood. South remakes are a big hit among Bollywood
filmmakers as it produces great revenue at the box-office. While Ajay
Devgn gears up for Drishyam remake, yet another blockbuster from South
is knocking the doors of Bollywood. Ajith’s superhit Tamil film Mankatha
is about to be remade in Hindi and we hear that two B-Town superstars —
Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are being considered for the lead role.
Rumour has it that producers, Studio Green, are looking at Salman or Akshay to fill in Ajith’s shoes. The story of the film revolves around a corrupt cop’s attempt to pull of a heist with the help of a bunch of wastrels. Both Salman and Akshay have had their fair share of remakes. While Salman has starred in remakes like Wanted, Ready, Bodyguard, Kick etc, Akshay enjoyed great success with Prabhu Dheva’s Rowdy Rathore which was also a South Indian remake.
