Tanuja hospitalised

She was all smiles as she shared the stage with the Bachchans and Shah Rukh Khan at the inauguration of the Kolkata film festival on Monday evening. But just a few hours, later Tanuja was hospitalised.

The veteran actress and mother to Kajol and Tanishaa, was at the dinner party when she complained of breathlessness. She was rushed to the Belle Vue Clinic in the city.

According to a friend of the 70-year-old actress, Tanuja was feeling uneasy during the opening ceremony and Shah Rukh Khan who was standing beside her, quickly got her a chair and gave her a foot massage. After the function, she left for the party where her health deteriorated.

"We rushed her to the hospital, not wanting to take any chances with her health," added the friend. "She was restless when she was wheeled in and was put on oxygen."

West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, visited her in the hospital. At the time of going to press, Tanuja had returned to the hotel and was resting. A decision on when she should be flown back to Mumbai will be taken today.
