Mind you, here we are talking of immediate family only. If you go looking for the cousins, uncles and nephews, aunts and nieces and such other combinations that are part of the acting fraternity, then you will realise that you have covered almost 60% of Bollywood's acting strength. But even if you maintain a myopic distance, you will see Bollywood that has thrived on nepotism since the days of Prithviraj Kapoor, continues to do so even today. Let's start with the Bachchans. Currently, the 72-year-old Indian cinema icon, Amitabh Bachchan, his MP-actress wife Jaya, his son Abhishek and his daughter-in-law Aishwarya are all active actors. While Abhishek maintains that their dinner table conversation doesn't necessarily revolve around movies, Big B says it is great to bump into his son or his wife in a studio compound, if and when they happen to be on adjacent sets.
While Salman Khan rules Bollywood, his two brothers Arbaaz and Sohail have gone beyond just wearing grease-paint. They are both filmmakers too.
Anil's contemporary, Jackie Shroff is basking in the joy of having son Tiger in the movies, while he himself is finding interesting assignments after a hiatus.
Govinda is back on the big screen after a gap and one hears his daughter Narmmadaa, who has been rechristened Tina Ahuja for the movies, has started shooting for her debut vehicle.
Suniel Shetty and his daughter Athiya are another father-daughter team. While Suniel portrays diverse roles, Athiya will make her debut in 2015 in the remake of Hero.
Sooraj Pancholi, Athiya's co-star, also has his parents Aditya and Zarina Wahab giving him a run for his makeup palette.
Sonakshi Sinha and her politician dad Shatrughan Sinha haven't acted in the same film yet, but chances of it happening sometime soon are strong.
The other active politician, Vinod Khanna is a much-in-demand dad for Bollywood superstars like Salman. His sons Rahul and Akshaye are seen on screen far less than their dad because they are choosy about the projects they green light.
Vivek Oberoi enjoys doing everything from adult comedies to playing a super villain while his father Suresh Oberoi is seen in select films.
Shahid Kapoor and his dad Pankaj Kapur may not agree on the way they spell their surname, but they definitely respect one another's acting talent. What's more, Sasha's stepmother Supriya Pathak is also a desired screen matriarch.
Like Supriya, her older sister Ratna Pathak-Shah is also a delightful onscreen mother. Besides her husband Naseeruddin Shah, who is practically an institution in acting, her two sons Imaad and Vivaan are also bitten by the acting bug.
Shraddha Kapoor and her dad Shakti Kapoor are now shaping up together in the same gym to pursue their individual acting challenges. Meanwhile, Shraddha's younger brother Siddhanth is also gung-ho that interesting roles are seeking him out.
Shruti Haasan and her father Kamal Haasan are active in films. Now, the duo is joined by Shruti's younger sister Akshara, who will be seen in her debut film next year.
Sibling team from New Delhi, Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem have settled in Mumbai for their love of the movies.
Riteish Deshmukh is juggling Hindi films with Marathi cinema. His wife Genelia has taken a 'pregnant' pause from films.
Of course, there are more such combinations of actors who have fallen by the wayside over the years.
