Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone can eat their hearts out. Even though Ayan Mukerji is close friends with both these actresses, courtesy their roles in Ranbir Kapoor's life, one hears that the director has his mind set on firecracker Alia Bhatt for his next project.

While Ayan only thinks of his close friend Ranbir when it comes to casting the male lead in his movies; this time, the heroine is likely to be Alia, say sources. When asked about the casting, Ayan's regular cover is that he is still writing the script and he will talk about his lead pair only after his final draft gets done. But of course, we still texted the director, who remained unavailable for comment.
