We know that Chetan Bhagat's fifth novel Revolution 2020 is being made into a film by Raj Kumar Gupta, being produced by UTV . Revolution 2020 is a love triangle that deals with unrequitted love and corruption. As per the book, the story has three main characters, Gopal, Raghav and Aarti. We were the first to tell you that the National award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao had been finalised for the role of Gopal, but we have now learnt that he has opted out of the film as the dates of his other film being directed by Ramesh Sippy are clashing with the shooting of Revolution 2020.

Rajkummar has worked with UTV before in Kai Po Che and Shahid and continues to share a good relationship with the production house and its head honcho, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Managing Director of Disney India, who, confirming the development, said, “Raj is one of the most talented actors of his generation and we have worked with him on path-breaking movies like Kai Po Che and Shahid. This time around, unfortunately, the dates are not working out, but I am sure we'll work together on something else very soon."

Every film has its destiny and we are sure Revolution 2020 will find its destined Gopal soon.
