The new generation of actors in Bollywood sure are a professional lot. Their hook-ups and break-ups don’t come in the way of work.

Last year Deepika Padukone had two releases. One with her former boyfriend — Ranbir Kapoor, and the other with current boyfriend — Ranveer Singh. Industry watchers were keen to see which film the audiences would give a big thumbs up to. The burning question was who did the audience want to see Dips with? New beau or old beau? What happened, surpised everyone. Both the films were huge hits. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewaani and Ram Leela were both received with equal enthusiasm.

Now another couple who split up — Anushka and Ranveer — will be seen together in Dil Dhadakne Do. This pair even made their debut together in Band Baaja Baaraat, and were accepted as a couple on-screen. They went on to do another film together, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011). But the movie failed to work at the box office. After their split, they haven’t been paired on-screen. So there is a lot of interest in their third coming together. Especially because there is no love lost between them. They weren’t in touch with each other before they began shooting for DDD.

Trade analysts believe that when a couple is dating off-screen, it is more exciting for the cine goers to see them on-screen. Call it voyuerism, if you will but that is a given fact. So now it remains to be seen if the audiences will show as much love to this former couple as they did to Ranbir and Deepika? Punters are also betting on whether Ranveer’s film with Anushka will do better business then his film with current love interest Deepika. They will be seen together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani

Ranveer meanwhile is unfazed by expectations. He says, “I am really looking forward to collaborating with her again. She’s one of the best young actors of the country, it’s been long since I have worked with her. I believe we share amazing chemistry as actors and she’s a wonderful person.”
